Whole Lot of Lovely

Embossing paste is an easy way to add interesting texture to your projects.  It’s also so fun to use!  It’s great on solid cardstock, and it is even better on designer paper, like this print from the Whole Lot of Lovely designer paper collection.  This is one of the paper collections included in the Buy 3 Get 1 Free sale in October.

Here’s the same card with different mask patterns.  These cards fall into the “easier than they look” category – my favorite category 🙂  Check your stash of designer papers to see what you might like to stock up on during our sale this month.

Merry Cafe Latte Sliders

These Latte Sliders are a super-simple favor that can be adapted for any occasion or holiday.  I am using “Merry Cafe” with papers from the Painted Autumn designer series paper collection.

The ribbon is threaded through holes in the pouch to create a slider that pulls up a pack of instant coffee.  I used Pumpkin Spice Lattes for this fall design.

My Christmas Latte Sliders hold a Vanilla Latte.  These papers are from the Christmas Around the World collection.  Each slider is made from a piece of designer paper measuring 6″ x 8″, but you can adjust these dimensions to create sliders for other treats, like candy bars.  The video below shows how to make these.  If you are reading this post in an email, click here for the video.

If you need any of these great products, click here to shop now or use the carousel to be directed to a specific product.  Both of the designer papers I used in today’s projects (Painted Autumn and Christmas Around the World) are included in this month’s Buy 3 Get 1 Free sale.

Order $50 or more by October 10 with Host Code GXXEADMU, and I will send you a set of four snowflake cards and a package of our Foil Snowflakes.  Orders over $50 also qualify for a Buckeye Point in my Loyalty Rewards program.  I appreciate your business!

Have a great weekend!

Colorful Seasons

The sponge brayers work beautifully to spread ink on our Glossy Cardstock.  I created this ombre background with Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, and Crushed Curry.  They look a bit lighter and brighter than the cardstock in the same colors.  I used Archival Black ink to get the crisp dark greeting.

There are so many great deals in October –  click here to shop now or use the carousel to be directed to a specific product.  If you order $50 or more by October 10, I will send you a set of four snowflake cards and a package of our Foil Snowflakes.  Orders over $50 also qualify for a Buckeye Point in my Loyalty Rewards program.  I appreciate your business!

Warm & Fuzzy Wishes

“Smitten Mittens” is one of my Holiday Catalog faves!  This is a quick and easy card with a fun sentiment.  I used a pattern from the Quilted Christmas designer paper, a collection which coordinates beautifully with the mitten bundle.

Eclipse Technique

I CASEd this card from my upline Terri Meehan after seeing it in her studio with the word “HOPE”.  I just love how “Painted Harvest” looks in these soft colors.  I used Blushing Bride, Sweet Sugarplum, Sahara Sand, and Wild Wasabi.

This card shows off the Eclipse technique.  In this technique, a layer of a project is cut with letters or shapes.  Those letters or shapes are then mounted on foam strips above the openings created by the cut.

In my project, the 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer of Whisper White was first stamped with the flowers and leaves from “Painted Harvest”.  The stamped image was then mounted on the Sweet Sugarplum card base, and the letters mounted above the cut openings.  There are so many possibilities for themes and words…WISH, JOY, HOPE, names, numbers, and more!

Here’s a version we are making for a local Blue Star Mothers group…

This one uses “Lovely Inside & Out” in Real Red and Dapper Denim.

The Large Letters Framelits are a big ticket item in our catalog…but so useful for so many projects!  You can buy them for half price with a qualifying group order – and it doesn’t have to be a party.  Contact me to set up a group order so that you and your friends can combine your orders (from any locations) to qualify for Hostess Benefits.  A group order of $450 earns a half price item.

Pick a Pumpkin Box in a Card

I learned how to make this lovely “Box in a Card” at an event put on by Mindy Gray and Candy Michael in Columbus last weekend .  The card acts as an easel for one of our Clear Tiny Treat Boxes.  A section of the card that measures 2″ wide and 1 3/4″ deep is cut out from the folded side of the card to hold the box.

Mindy and Candy also suggested that this could be a place holder at a table setting – what a sweet way to present a favor at a special dinner!  I CASEd the idea to use in my clubs this month.  Both of our versions use the Painted Autumn designer paper.  Theirs also used the Painted Harvest Bundle.

My version is a little smaller, and I used the Pick a Pumpkin Bundle and the new Everyday Label Punch.

The greeting is from “Labels to Love”.

Here’s a look at how the box nests into the card.

I added a name tag to the top of the box.

I have a series of pictures that show how I cut the Early Espresso Card Base.  You can use this concept in any size card.  I started with a 4″ x 8″ piece of Early Espresso, scored at 4″.

Start by making the lengthwise cuts, 1″ from either edge.

Score between the endpoints of those cut lines.

Then, cut out a chunk of the cardstock as shown below.  You can do this with scissors if you prefer, cutting about 1/2″ from each score line to create tabs.

The finished base is shown below, ready to decorate.

It is easiest to decorated before creating the tent.  Add Tear-n-tape to one of the tabs to use later when assembling.

I added a 2″ x 4″ piece of designer paper, a pumpkin and a tag.  The bow on my pumpkin is made from one ply of the Jute Twine.

Once decorated, reveal the tape and overlap the flaps to create a shelf for the box.

If you prefer, you can create a 2″ square box from designer paper to fit the cut-out.

If you need any of the great products I have used in my project, click here to go to my online store, or use the carousel to be directed to a specific product.  If you order $35 or more in September, I will send you a Copper Leaf Shaker Card and a package of our Linen Thread.  Orders over $50 also qualify for a Buckeye Point in my Loyalty Rewards program.  I appreciate your business!

Have a great Monday!

More “Hearts Come Home”

I am using “Hearts Come Home” again today, and again I have different options.  This is a simpler design than yesterday’s, with only two pieces of Thick Whisper White on the card front.  Each is cut with a different edgelit – so fun, and so easy!!

Night of Navy was my first choice for this card.

Then I made the same card on a Powder Pink card base with the greeting embossed in silver – I love it!  I was inspired by cards I received at a Stampin’ Up! event last weekend.

My upline, Mindy Gray, made these cards.  The one on the left is made with Basic Gray, and the one on the right is stepped up a bit with Silver Glimmer Paper and embossing.

I’m not great at taking pictures of shiny things – these are even more stunning in person!

Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend!  Please click here if you would like to shop – I appreciate your orders!!
