Perennial Birthday

I was drawn to “Perennial Birthday” for its pretty flowers.  Overall, the stamp set is very sweet and feminine, but the large birthday greeting has a broader appeal.  The font is clean and simple, and it is a perfect size for the “hinge step” on the Stamparatus.

I mounted the greeting at an angle on the Stamparatus plate.  I stamped it from five adjacent hinge postions, cleaning the stamp and changing colors between impressions.  The colors are Lemon Lime Twist, Emerald Envy, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, and Dapper Denim.  So fun…and so easy to get a great result!

The Whisper White piece on the card measures 3 3/8″ x 5 1/4″ and the Lemon Lime mat measures 3 5/8″ x 5 1/2″.

I added candles from “Picture Perfect Birthday” along with a few of our popular Tutti Frutti Adhesive-Backed Sequins.  The rhinestones and Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper add a little sparkle.  You can choose the Glimmer Paper for free with a $50 order through the end of the month – it was one of the additional items added to the Sale-a-bration offerings yesterday, but it is also available for purchase.

Springtime Foils

Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Paper is one of the items you can choose for free with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration.  There are four different metallic foil patterns in the collection.

I chose the rose gold spotted pattern for this card, and I used my Sponge Brayers to pick up color from ink pads to create the ombre background.  I used Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo and Powder Pink.  The party blowers and greeting are from “Picture Perfect Birthday”.

Stampin’ Up! has announced new Sale-a-bration options that will be available starting tomorrow, March 15.  These options, shown in the flyer below, are offered in addition to the current offerings.  Sale-a-bration runs through the end of March.

Beautiful Day

If you want to make a simple card that looks fabulous, pull out your designer paper!  The Naturally Eclectic collection is great for spring projects, and I have only added an image, a greeting and some trims here.  The butterfly is from “Beautiful Day” and the greeting is from “Lovely Wishes”.  I used Archival Black ink and white embossing powder to get really crisp images.

Note Card Folders

This gift set of notes cards is so easy to make, and it makes fabulous use of our two-sided designer paper!  It uses one piece of 12″ square designer paper.

The folder opens up as shown above.  The cards inside are our precut and scored note cards which measure 3 1/2″ x 5″, and you can decorate them for any theme.

I used a 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″ piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock and a 3″ x 4 1/2″ piece of Bubbles & Fizz designer paper for these cards.  The stamps are from “Picture Perfect Birthday”.  I love that the Tutti Frutti Sequins coordinate, too!

Check out the video below for complete directions on how to make the folder, or scroll further in this post to see other versions of this project.  If you are receiving this post as an email, please click here for the video.

This is my “Petal Palette” version.

The note cards are very simple.  I colored the flowers with Pink Pirouette Blends, and I also touched them up with Wink of Stella.  The Smoky Slate piece is one length of the lacy piece produced from the bundle’s thinlit, but I cut it to make it appear longer.  There is a gap in the piece under the flowers.

I also created a version of this folder that would hold our Narrow Note Cards.  The directions for this size folder are included in the second half of the video.

This project is completely adaptable to any colors, themes, and greetings.  I think you will love making them!  And if you do, remember that I need your business in the online store to keep the ideas and the videos coming!  🙂

Magical Day

In one week, I have used “Magical Day” for two kids’ birthdays.  The kids?  My 22-year-old daughter, in recognition of her long-time love  of the Harry Potter series, and my 7-year-old nephew.

My favorite detail is the wizard’s crystal ball (Clear Faceted Gem).  The Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Paper is sparkly, too, and there is also Glimmer Paper available in this suite!  So fun!

Here is the version I made for my nephew.  I relied on the designer paper for my “characters” on this one.

Mini Embroidery Hoops

Have you seen the Mini Embroidery Hoops in our 2018 Occasions Catalog?  They add a cozy touch to a project.  They make such a great focal point that they can almost stand alone on a card.  I used just a bit of texture and a tag on this card because I didn’t want to take away from the miniature framed image.

I have used the smaller of the hoops here, with a 1″ circle and 1 1/8″ scalloped circle.  The stamps are from “Apron of Love”.

Apron of Love

“Apron of Love” has so many cute stamps and pieces to play with!  I used the Tutti Frutti designer paper for my color inspiration, and I love how the Pool Party and Lemon Lime Twist look a little retro.

Here’s a look at the bundle…

As much as I love the images in the stamp set, it was the greetings that sold me.  I don’t have enough “Get Well Soon” stamps, and the “Made with Love” stamps caught my eye, too.

Twitter Alternative

These little birds from “Flying Home” are so sweet, and the images in the set are fun to color.  I used “Labeler Alphabet” for my greeting.  You still can’t beat a handmade card with a tweet, post, email or text!

Birthday Wit with Tutti Frutti

I combined the big greetings from “Birthday Wit” with the precut and scored Tutti Frutti Cards & Envelopes for this project.  It is a boxed set of birthday cards.

I love that the envelopes coordinate with the card bases.  The cards and envelopes come in a pack of 16, and you can choose to receive them for free with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration.

With all of their dimension and bling, these six cards are a tight fit for the acetate box – four cards fill it nicely.

Each of my designs in this set uses a 1 1/2″ strip of Tutti Frutti designer series paper.  I have also used the Tutti Frutti Adhesive-Backed Sequins, Rhinestones, and Silver Metallic Thread.

On this card, the greeting is stamped in Rich Razzleberry on Whisper White and punched with the 2 1/4″ circle punch.  I fussy-cut the “Happy Birthday” portion of a greeting stamped in Real Red and added it to the circle with dimensionals.  I layered it over circles from the Layering Circles collection.

This card is a little simpler.  I fussy-cut the greeting and added it with dimensionals.

These are really fun greetings!  I stamped this one in several colors to make this little patchwork of fussy-cut words.  Some of the words are on dimensionals.

You can get the stamp set ($19), designer paper ($10), sequins ($7), acetate boxes ($6.50) for under $50 – throw in any extras you need, maybe some rhinestones, dimensionals and/or metallic thread, and when you reach $50, you can choose the cards and envelopes for free.  Combined with your ink and a bit of cardstock, these supplies would make four sets of four cards, with excess supplies for future projects.

100!

How often do you need a card for someone who is turning 100?  That is the ultimate milestone birthday, and my friend Jan’s mom will be 100 in March.  Amazing!!

I used the numbers from the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit to decorate my cake.  The velvet ribbon and vellum sprig are also from the kit, and the cake is fussy-cut from the Sweet Soiree designer paper.
