We have a bright and summery color challenge this week – it makes me think of sunshine and clear skies. I didn’t get a sun worked into my card as originally planned, but I did come up with a fun summery card.
This is a “Twist and Turn” card. It opens as shown below, and it is much, much easier than it looks! The base is simply a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of cardstock.
Here’s a look at the other side of the opened card:
The video below shows how to score and fold the base.
I will repeat the dimensions here, so that you don’t have to search through the video to find them:
Crumb Cake base 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 2 3/4″ and 4″ along 8 1/2″ side and scored at 2 3/4″ along 5 1/2″ side
Whisper White mats (2) – 2 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
Bermuda Bay dsp – 2 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ and 1″ x 2 1/2″
Whisper White – 2 1/2″ square
Daffodil Delight dsp – 2 3/8″ square
Here is another version, with our new Affectionately Yours designer paper and stamps from “Perfectly Wrapped”. I also used our great new banner punch, and split the banner so it could extend beyond the circle:
And a version we made in club last month. I CASEd this one from Tina Rappe, you can see her card here. It uses the now retired “Apple of My Eye” along with various papers (Cherry on Top and Envelope Paper):
These are really fun – and so easy! Hope you’ll give them a try.
Don’t forget to visit Create with Connie and Mary to see all of the entries into the color challenge this week. My teammates have come up with some fabulous inspiration, and we would love it if you would play along!
