Sunflower Twisted Easel Card

Sunflower Twisted Easel This was one of yesterday’s club projects – I couldn’t resist taking my leftovers out into the sunshine to create my own little field of sunflowers!  These are “twisted easel” cards.

DSC_0092w The basic construction is shown below.  You start with a folded piece of cardstock, cut with the largest floral framelit, being careful to preserve the fold on one side.  The fold is to the left in the picture below.  This piece will be the card base.

DSC_0087w Score this card base as shown.  (I have opened up the base in this picture.)

DSC_0088w Fold the section to the right of this score back to hold an additional, full-size flower piece, shown here already decorated.  That piece will be the front of the card.

DSC_0089w We decorated these sunflowers with shaker frames holding chunky glass glitter and butterflies.  The little butterfly on the inside is placed to create a rest for the flower when it is open.

I can’t resist a trip down memory lane here…this project totally reminds me of a farm outside of Columbus that we used to visit every fall when my girls were little!  The sunflower field was amazing!!
