Today’s card is a departure from my usual tendency toward bold contrasts and bright colors. You may be wondering how I ever came up with such a simple layout, using only two neutrals to create these subtle yet striking contrasts. I CASEd it. (If you are reading cardmaking blogs, you probably already know…CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything.) I wish I knew who to credit – I took a picture of this swap at Leadership.
Here’s another shot that tries to show off the little touches of silver that are so pretty.
A great thing about using gold and silver details, like the Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, is that a little goes a long way! The strip with diagonal silver stripes is 1″x4″, so you would get 36 pieces from one 12″x12″ sheet. Our Gold or Silver Fancy Foil Vellum packages come with 9 sheets, 3 each of 3 different designs for $10.95.
A less great thing about using vellum is that you have to be clever about hiding your adhesive. But it is worth it! I hid my adhesive snail behind the wide stripes on the vellum and behind the flower centers on the stamped piece. The greeting banner is locked onto the back of the foil flower with a dimensional.
The flowers are from the Petite Petals bundle in the Occasions Catalog…a new favorite!
