This month’s technique in Stamp Club was Emboss Resist, and this is the card we made. The background is watercolored with an Aquapainter. The scene from “The Newborn King” is heat embossed with white embossing powder on watercolor paper. You can barely make out the scene at this stage, but it comes to life as you brush over it with color. I used four colors on this card – Night of Navy, Lost Lagoon, Soft Sky and Pear Pizzazz. I had one or two drops of each color in my palette, and that was plenty for this image.
I wanted the Nativity to be the focal point, so I heat embossed that portion of the image on a small piece of Silver Foil. I cut it out with my Paper Snips. The sentiment is stamped on Whisper White and cut out with a Project Life framelit – those shapes are great for greetings!
I have used watercolor pieces without embossing, too. They make great backgrounds, as in the sample below (previously posted, click here for more details).
Have a great day!
