Back to “Work”

Haha!  That’s what I told my family – I wanted a couple of hours to myself in the craft room today, so I am “working” 😉

I have a designer paper card today…

I love to use more than one paper pattern at a time.  This patchwork is a fun background, and it is easy to create.

Start with two pieces of designer paper, each 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles.  Stack them on your trimmer and cut them from edge to opposite edge at the same time.  If you would like your focal point centered, you can adjust your cuts accordingly, just make sure you cut through each edge once.

From those pieces, you can create two backgrounds on a 4″ x 5 1/4″ mat.  Add any image as the focal point.  I used the “Thank You” stamps from December’s Paper Pumpkin kit.  The Paper Pumpkin projects from this kit are shown below, but I will use these stamps on many other projects.

While I am on the subject, if you have this kit, I recommend mounting the repetitive greeting on a larger block than necessary – it fits a size C, but if you use D or larger, it is easier to see through and align.  Also, the refill for this kit is available to Paper Pumpkin subscribers – Item 136921 for $7.95 gives you the materials to make 9 more cards.  This is truly the easiest way to make these popular shaker cards.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, and I wish you all the best in 2015!
