I want to show you what I made this weekend with my April Paper Pumpkin kit. I really love the stamps and the materials that came, but since I give a lot of gift cards at this time of the year, I modified the intended use a bit. You’ll see all of the stamps in the video – I only used a few here.
Our local school system colors are Purple and Yellow, so I used the four Crushed Curry projects for graduation gift card holders. Instead of folding the Crushed Curry cards into a regular card, I made them into pockets. I folded the card with the printed sides together, and then I folded one end back 1 3/4″ (where “Congratulations” is stamped.) I secured the sides with sticky strip.
I used the “Class of 2015” stamp on the outside of the pocket envelope that comes with the kit. It’s tough to stamp a solid image on this type of rough cardstock. Here’s my advice – start with a well-inked pad, and plan to fill in any gaps with a blender pen. I added Elegant Eggplant loops to my bows with pieces from the Bow Builder Punch.
I made the Pacific Point cards into thank you cards, and I added a little Strawberry Slush. I mounted the white panel so that the fold is at the bottom, though, so I can drop a gift card into the card. Since the fold is at the bottom, the gift card will surely come out of the pocket with the card.
Either of these will fit into an A2 envelope so the gift card is completely enclosed.
I am attaching Stampin’ Up!’s directions on how to use this month’s kit, but first, I have two samples to show you from the March kit. These were made by Carol Coy, and they are CASEs. They are super-cute, and I don’t think we can get enough of this sharp color combination!
