Birthday Balloons Double Z-fold

This is one of the projects that we made in club this weekend.  It is a double z-fold card with balloons mounted on Window Sheets along the band.

The base of the card is a typical “Z”.  It measures 4 1/4″ x 11″; it’s scored at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″.  There is also a band that is folded in a “Z”.  The band measures 1″ x 11″, also scored at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″.

The longer length of band is placed over the narrower section of the base.  In this case, the band is tucked behind the Whisper White piece with the stars and balloon.

For this card, I used the smaller of the balloons on the Balloon Bouquet punch, and the balloons are two-sided.  Using the end of my Aquapainter, I distressed the edges of each balloon to make them curl. DSC_2032w

The edges curled easily as I traced each balloon outline against the pierce mat – this is similar to what I showed for the flower centers on this card last week (click here).

Working with pairs of the same pattern, the balloons were each sandwiched around a dimensional and the end of a 3/8″ strip of Window Sheet.  There is a glue dot holding the balloon to the Window Sheet.

In this picture, you can see how the Window Sheet strips are then attached to the band with a glue dot.  That curly string is our Baker’s Twine.  Did you know that it curls like curling ribbon against your bone folder?  That takes any kinks out, too!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great Monday!
