Friends & Flowers Favors

Friends & Flowers

You can create this cute bunny with the “Friends & Flowers” set and coordinating Festive Flower Punch.  I used his little egg-shaped home as a tag, but it could be placed on a card just as easily.  We made these treats in our Team Meeting this weekend – the bag is our Polka Dot Cone Cello Bag with a mix of Cheddar Chex Mix, Candy Corn, Cadbury Eggs, and M&Ms.

Friends & Flowers

Here’s a closer look at the tag.  The egg is made of two ovals, one cut from Tempting Turquoise, and one cut from Tempting Turquoise designer series paper.  I used the Oval Framelit that measures about 2 1/2″ across (shorter dimension).  It is the 4th of the 7 Oval Framelits, counting from smallest or largest.

I made the bunny by stamping and punching two heads.  One is tucked behind the hole in the designer paper so that the facial features are hidden.  The hole is a 1 3/4″ circle.  Those perfect little cheeks on the bunny were stamped with the eraser end of a pencil.

The grass is Cucumber Crush Cotton Paper cut with the fringe framelit from the Pyramid Pals thinlits.  The rest of the supplies are listed at the end of this post.

Friends & Flowers

I also used the bunny on this treat wrap, made from the largest of the Circle Framelits.  I got this idea from Erica Cerwin of Pink Buckaroo Designs.  She made these wraps for Valentine’s Day – click here to see her Valentines along with video instructions.  I will repeat the dimensions below.

bunnyfavor2

Score circle at 3/4″, 1 1/4″, 3 1/2″ and 4″.  Turn 90 degrees and score at 3 1/2″ and 4″.  Cut out corners as shown and create box bottom.

Wrap with designer paper, 2″ x 6″, scored at 1 3/8″, 1 7/8″, 4 1/8″ and 4 5/8″.

Have a great Monday!

Wildflower Fields Note Cards

DSC_1859w

I like this pattern from the Sale-a-bration Wildflower Fields designer paper collection so much that I made it the centerpiece of this thank you note.  You could whip up a set of these in no time.  I used our precut and scored note cards to keep it really simple.

The designer paper is a 2 1/2″ square, and the Blackberry Bliss mat is a 2 3/4″ square.  I used the Banner Punch to make the Calypso Coral banner, and I tucked it behind a 1″ strip of Blackberry Bliss cut with the Triple Banner Punch.  The greeting is from the Watercolor Wishes card kit.

Have a great weekend!

Playful Pals Colors

CCMC394

I knew right away that I wanted to make an elephant out of our grayish-purple Wisteria Wonder – and that meant play time with “Playful Pals”.

DSC_1855w

This set is just plain fun!  With 50 stamps and 18 dies in the bundle, the number of animals that you can make is incredible.  I am sure you can make anything that you can think of, and you can create your own animals, too.  I also used “Number of Years” to complete the card.

Just a note…the star under the number 1 looks kind of dark and out-of-place, but it is actually made of silver foil, so it is bright and shiny.

Thank you for checking out my challenge card.  Please visit Create with Connie and Mary to see all of the cards prepared by our talented Challenge Team.  Hope you’ll be inspired to play along!

Botanical Brights

DSC_1833w

I needed some special birthday cards this week, and I CASEd Dena Rekow’s card to make a few of these.  The Botanical Blooms are gorgeous when cut from bright colors, and I just love Dena’s idea for a black and white striped background.  I made the background with 5 1/4″ long strips of cardstock  – two 1″ Whisper White, one 1″ Basic Black, and two 1/2″ Basic Black.  The flowers are Melon Mambo, Calypso Coral, and Daffodil Delight.  The leaves are Pear Pizzazz.

You can see Dena’s card here.  Have a great day!

Flowering Fields Sympathy

Flowering Fields

This could be a card for any occasion, but I really like how the greeting from “Open Heart” fits.  The rest of the sentiment is on the inside, and it says “So hard to find the words.”

I used the “Flowering Fields” set, stamping and then masking the center flower before adding the others.  The designer paper is Wildflower Fields.  Both are products that you can choose to receive free with a $50 product purchase during Sale-a-bration.

I used my Blender Pen with Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive to color the flowers.  I also added Clear Wink of Stella over the Rich Razzleberry for subtle sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a good Monday!

Rose Wonder Under Vellum

Rose Wonder and Botanical Vellum

I used a piece of Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum to soften up the lines of my Crumb Cake rose cut-out.  The vellum collection is one of the freebies you can choose with any $50 product order during Sale-a-bration.  The rose is made with the Rose Garden Thinlits, and it is attached to the Basic Black card base.  The greeting is also from the Rose Wonder bundle.

The hard part about working with vellum is that adhesive shows through it.  I planned the location of my ribbon, and then placed a line of sticky strip directly under it on the card base.  I used that adhesive to adhere the vellum, and then I tied the length of ribbon around the card front.  I also added adhesive between the vellum and the card base where the greeting would hide it.

Have a great weekend!

Hello My Friend

CCMC393

This sketch calls for 12 of something – I made flowers and I made hearts before deciding on banners.

DSC_1820w

Then I had to turn the sketch on its side to make it work.  This ends up being a showcase of Sale-a-bration products.  The stamp set is “Hello”, which will only be available as a free Sale-a-bration choice through February 15.  The designer paper is Wildflower Fields, and it will be available through March.

I punched the banners and attached them to the Blackberry Bliss before wrapping the twine.  Trust me, you do not want to try to get the twine spacing right without having those banners in place!

Please visit Create with Connie and Mary to see all of the cards presented by my talented teammates.  Hope you’ll be inspired to play along with us!

January 2016 Paper Pumpkin Kit

DSC_1826w

This is a sampling of the favors I made to send to my daughter and her roommates – they may be in college, but they are still kids!  I made these with the January 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit.  In case you are not familiar with that name, Paper Pumpkin is our monthly subscription kit – it delivers a complete project to your mailbox, just add adhesive.  The stamps, ink, cardstock and embellishments are all included.

DSC_1830w

I also made this coordinating card, and I decorated a gift bag.

DSC_1832blurw

And I used the box the kit came in to repackage the goodies.  The box is bright orange with the Paper Pumpkin logo, but you can turn it around easily as I have done here.

Today is the deadline for joining Paper Pumpkin if you would like to receive this month’s kit.  You can join with the link in the left column of my site if you would like to be on a month-to-month subscription.  It costs $19.95 + tax per month, and shipping is included.  There is no subscription length – you can quit at any time.

If you know you would like to commit to Paper Pumpkin for at least 3-months, you can purchase a 3-month prepaid subscription in the online store.  It is on sale now for $55*, and this purchase qualifies you to receive a free Sale-a-bration product.  This sale is for new or existing customers, and the prepaid subscription can be given as a gift.

If you would like to commit longer, there are options for longer subscriptions.  The 12-month subscription costs $215.40*, and if you add $35 in product, you qualify for 5 Sale-a-bration products AND $50 in Hostess Beneftis (your choice of any products).

*Subscription prices include shipping.

When you purchase a Paper Pumpkin subscription in the online store, you receive a promo code by email to enter as payment into your Paper Pumpkin account.  The promo code can be used by anyone, and there is even an option to print a Gift Certificate.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about subscribing.  And while we are talking about Paper Pumpkin, I have to share my neighbor Cenie’s project…

DSC_1821w

Cenie’s granddaughter wanted her Valentine box to look like a horse, so Cenie made this fabulous horse for her!  If you are a Paper Pumpkin customer, you may recognize the fringe from the September 2015 kit – those extras come in handy!

Have a great day!
