What’s Old is New Again!

Here’s a wrap-up of last night’s Facebook Live, starting with these two cards that were CASEd directly from our Demonstrator magazine.  I was so inspired by them because “Painted Harvest” looks so fresh and new in our new colors – Petal Pink and Grapefruit Grove.

I used the Subtles designer paper patterns on these cards.  The Whisper White square on the So Saffron card measures 4″, and the striped piece started as a 1 1/4″ x 4″ strip.  I cut the flag ends with my scissors.  The Petal Pink striped piece is a 2 1/2″ square.

I remade the So Saffron card on Gray Granite with one of our most popular holdover sets, “Daisy Delight”.  If you are not a fan of fussy-cutting, you will probably prefer this version.  The greetings on these cards are from “Happy Birthday Gorgeous”.

The designer paper strip on this card is from the Neutral designer paper patterns.  I am reaching for these papers over and over – they are so handy, and they are available in smaller packs than we have had in the past.

With our new greens in mind, I chose “Sheltering Tree” for this summery card.  The greens are Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce.  The Whisper White strip measures 2″ and the Shaded Spruce measures 2 1/4″.  These greetings are also from “Happy Birthday Gorgeous”.

And last, but definitely not least, my favorite from last year – “Coffee Cafe”.  I love it with these new brights, Coastal Cabana and Gorgeous Grape.  The designer paper strip measures 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″.

And here is the Kraft Pillow Box that we wrapped up in these same colors.  The Gorgeous Grape strip measures 2″ x 8″, scored at 4″ and punched at both ends with the Scalloped Tag Topper.  I think the Kraft Pillow Boxes are a hidden gem in this year’s catalog – you can dress up these pillow boxes with any of your favorite products, and they are a great deal at 10/$5.

Happy News

Our new colors are very happy, so they go well with this happy greeting from “Abstract Impressions” . I have Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather paired with Granny Apple Green here.

I used the large thinlit from Springtime Impressions to emboss the background mat.  When used against an embossing mat, the die embosses rather than cutting.  The embossing mats allow you to get more use from your dies.

Little Elephant Quilted Baby Card

New colors, new papers, new bundle, new embossing folder, new embellishments…this card has it all!  It is also a new fold (for me), inspired by a card made by Janet Wakeland.

I chose my colors directly from the Twinkle Twinkle designer paper – Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink, Pool Party and Gray Granite.  The Petal Pink cardstock mat is embossed with our new Tufted embossing folder.  The image is from the Little Elephant bundle.

This Soft Sea Foam base is a gate fold, 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 2 1/4″ and 7 3/4″.  The ends do meet when this piece is folded flat, but I have added a Petal Pink mat (3 1/2″ x 4″) that extends above the edge.  Instead of seeing a seam, as you would on a normal gate fold card, the top of the card is a flap over the lower piece.

The designer paper piece measures 2″ x 4″.  This is the first baby card I have made with Twinkle Twinkle – it is great for other cards too!  I posted the “Varied Vases” card shown below last week, and stay tuned, I have a masculine card from it in my blog lineup this week.

Varied Vases and More!

Here are the still pictures and dimensions from last night’s Facebook Live.  Live sessions will stay available for a period of time on my Facebook page – please check it out if you would like more details!

Using the Stamparatus, it is quick and easy to make a collection of two-step vases in every color.  I used a template of the punch openings to line up the outline stamps on one plate of the Stamparatus, and I did the same with the fill-in stamps on the other plate.

Once the stamps are set up this way, it is easy to stamp and punch three vases of the same color.  From the large collection of vases that I produced so quickly, I chose one Gray Granite, one Pool Party, and one Powder Pink for this card.

The designer paper is from the Twinkle Twinkle collection, and it measures 4″ x 5 1/4″.

I used my favorite new In Colors here – Blueberry Bushel and Lovely Lipstick.  The vase was stamped with the patterned stamp first, in Blueberry Bushel.  I stamped over it with Versamark and used clear embossing powder for a shiny effect (which never shows up too well in pictures!!)

The designer paper background measures 3 3/4″ x 5″, and the Lovely Lipstick cardstock measures 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″.  The Blueberry Bushel designer paper strip measures 3/4″ x 4 1/4″.

The Granny Apple Green typewriter is heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  The Stamparatus makes this easy.  The image was stamped in Granny Apple Green first.  The stamp was cleaned while still on the plate so that it could be used again to apply Versamark over the image for embossing.

I hope you can see the beautiful shine and texture on the image – embossing makes the image extra-special!  I also love to throw in the little details – like the Glitter Enamel Dots in bright new colors!!

The designer paper here measures 3″ x 4 1/4″, and the Gorgeous Grape mat measures 3 1/8″ square.

Delightfully Detailed Stencil

The backgrounds of these cards were created by rolling a sponge brayer over one of the panels of the Delightfully Detailed Specialty Papers.  I used Highland Heather and Mango Melody.  And check out my new favorite embellishments – the Glitter Enamel Dots!!  We have new colors available this year; they are so fun!

Great New Color

Our new Annual Catalog offers a lot of great new color!  These two cards use two new In Colors (Blueberry Bushel and Lovely Lipstick) on Granny Apple Green, one of the fabulous new Brights.

I highly recommend getting the ones that appeal to you – whether you get one of them or all of them, it’s so fun to have new color in the mix!

Delightfully Detailed Specialty Paper

In last night’s Facebook Live, we covered several uses for this gorgeous laser-cut specialty paper.  The collection contains four sheets of lacy panels and decorative strips to cut apart, and four sheets of an all-over floral lace pattern.  Each sheet is Whisper White on one side and Very Vanilla on the other.

This is the easiest use of the panel sheets – layering the panels over the Delightfully Detailed Note Cards.  These note cards are printed with the watercolor wash you see behind the lacy panels.  I simply added a few punch shapes with the greetings from “Detailed with Love”.

I also showed this note card set, made from my own Soft Seafoam note cards, cut at 5″ x 7″, scored at 3 1/2″.  This is the same size as the precut and scored Whisper White, Very Vanilla, and Delightfully Detailed Note Cards.  Somehow I always end up with extra envelopes from those precut and scored packages, so this set puts them to good use!

I packaged a set of four note cards and envelopes in a Clear Medium Envelope, wrapped with a belly band from the laser-cut paper and finished off with our “Statement of the Heart” stamp.

Note that the lacy piece on the thank you card is cut from the center of the panel used on the other card.  The empty space is hidden by the oval.  The stamps are from “Share What You Love” and the other color is Petal Pink.

I used the panel with the leafy vine as a stencil to make these baby cards.  I used the sponge brayers to roll Granny Apple Green ink over the stencil onto Granny Apple Green cardstock.  After inking, I cut the cardstock pieces down to 3 1/8″ x 4 3/8″, and I matted them on Blueberry Bushel and Melon Mambo (3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ mats).

The lion is from “A Little Wild” and the greeting is from “Baby Bear”.  The card bases are Balmy Blue and Powder Pink.

I used the all-over floral lace sheets to create this set of cards, packaged in an acetate box wrapped with a belly band from one of the other sheets.

I used four of the 2018-2020 In Colors.  Each card is slightly different because I was cutting away different portions of the large lace sheet to attach.  I attached these cut-away pieces to 3 3/4″ x 5″ mats of cardstock, and then mounted them on 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ pieces of Whisper White.

If I was starting over, I think I would make the whole set from Lovely Lipstick – I love it with the crisp white lace!!  The stamps are from “Detailed with Love” and “Label Me Pretty”.

Sunny Colors

Oh the new colors…they have really brightened our palettes!  You would be hard-pressed to find a color that is sunnier than Pineapple Punch.  The other new colors here, Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green, are just as cheerful; and the returning Flirty Flamingo is a great compliment.  They all look so fresh and lively.

I used sponge daubers to color this thinlit from the Garden Impressions Suite.  If you love this suite like I do, why not get a little extra with it by buying my Class To Go?  With the purchase of the bundle, you will get materials and directions to make six cards as well as paper from the designer paper collection.  Click here for class details – the deadline is Friday, June 8.
