This is “Craft Show Week” for me, and this Santa fry box is probably my favorite new thing to make this year. Unfortunately, almost all of the pieces are made with old products! I still had to share, though – maybe you have a lot of these retired goodies, or maybe you have some good substitutions.
First, there’s the fry box. I added a 1″ Basic Black belt, with a 1 3/8″ square Silver Foil buckle and a 1″ Basic Black square.
Do you recognize the hair and beard? It is cut from one of the retired Wonderful Wreath Framelits. The mustache is cut form a retired framelit. The face is Blushing Bride, cut with a retired oval punch, but you could substitute an oval framelit. The nose and eyes are 1/2″ circles.
The hat is made with one of the retired Delicate Ornament Thinlits, and the pompom is made with a retired 7/8″ scalloped circle punch. I’m sorry for all of these retired products…but if you are a collector like me, you might have them all too!! LOL! I just love this cute little Santa and had to share.

Today is our last day of OnStage out here in Salt Lake City. Wow! The new Occasions and Sale-a-bration Catalogs are awesome, and there are some great new products coming!!
Here’s a look at some of the gifts I brought to OnStage – the packaging is totally CASEd from the catalog. I love the Merry Little Christmas suite!
These would make great Hostess Gifts over the holiday season. I filled them with a few turtles from a local candy store.
I’m pretty excited to be in Salt Lake City for our OnStage Convention, which starts today. It’s exciting for us Demonstrators to preview the upcoming catalogs, but also to get together to catch up and spend three days immersed in Stampin’ Up!
I have another home decor project to share with you today – an 8″ x 8″ shadowbox design that I have been making for my upcoming Craft Show. It uses the Santa’s Sleigh Framelits with Real Red and Silver – a great combination for Buckeye fans, or for anyone at the holidays! The sentiment is from “Watercolor Christmas” and the glimmer snowflakes are cut with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. I added 3/4″ jingle bells to the frame.
I designed a new sampler for my favorite 8″ x 10″ frame, and I will be offering it as a class to my local customers in early December. It’s quite simple, with almost no stamping and just one color. I used the Merry Little Christmas Designer Paper as my inspiration.
I am making this project available as a Class Planner only ($5) or a Kit ($20, includes shipping). Please visit my Classes To Go page for more details.
You can get the full collection (all 26 colors plus the color lifter) for $121.50 on a regular order. However, if you join Stampin’ Up! and include them in your Starter Kit, you pay only $99 + tax! Shipping is included.
There are great reasons to join Stampin’ Up! at this time of year…
Discounted merchandise in Starter Kit (you choose $125 in product for $99 + tax, shipping is included) – and you can choose the new Stampin’ Blends!

My mitten projects seemed a little out of place in August and September, but it’s mitten season now. It’s November in the midwest, so I think we can appreciate a few more projects using “Smitten Mittens”. This is probably my favorite bundle from the 2017 Holiday Catalog, and it’s not just for Christmas.
We are heading into another weekend of college football, so let’s start with this…
The mittens cut with the detailed thinlit are made even better here by piecing scraps of cardstock behind the openings. Ok, it’s a little fussy…but so worth it!! It’s pretty awesome in Scarlet and Gray, but you can make it in your team’s colors.
On a side note here, I have gotten a few questions about Boris, who was absent from the Alaska Achievers selfie of me and the girls last week. The simple answer – he’s not big on matching clothing and posed pictures. However, I did get a picture with him in his element. You have to catch these guys in moments that they want to remember!!
This was taken after last Saturday’s Ohio State win over Penn State. So yes, he is still here, and yes, he gets to go to Alaska, too! Thank you again to my fabulous team and customers for making it possible for me to earn the trip!
Back to the mittens…
This is another remake of a card posted earlier this season, but I pieced the mitten openings here. I used Dapper Denim, Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist. The background photographed a little bright here – it is actually Old Olive.
I used this same color scheme with pieced mittens to decorate Latte Sliders. This is a remake of the Latte Sliders I posted earlier here, with directions.
So this weekend, we are watching football from the warmth of our home. I may even piece some mittens while we watch the games. Have a great weekend and go Bucks!

The Merry Little Christmas Suite offers a different look for Christmas with its bold black and white patterns, and it gives us patterns to use well beyond Christmas. I simply pulled together my favorite pieces and patterns from the suite to make this card. I added silver glimmer snowflakes cut with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits and a greeting from “Merry Cafe”.
The plaid piece is a 1″ strip, and the snowflake pattern is a 2 5/8″ square. Love those trees from the Card Front Builder Framelits!
Today is the first day that you can order our new Stampin’ Blends. Stampin’ Blends are our premier alcohol markers, great for coloring stamped images! The Wood Textures designer series paper stack provides a rustic natural background for these pretty flowers made with “Painted Harvest”. I used three different patterns in a similar shade here, and they contrast beautifully with the doily (retired) and Gingham Ribbon. Don’t forget that the Wood Textures designer paper is one of the collections included in this month’s Buy 3 Get 1 Free Sale.
The flower is stamped with Marina Mist and Night of Navy with a Crushed Curry center and Old Olive leaves. The Whisper White panel measures 2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″, and the Night of Navy mat is 3″ x 4″. The greeting is from “Flourishing Phrases”.
