Bunch of Blossoms

This pretty blossom is created with a set that is carrying over into the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog, “Bunch of Blossoms”. It has a coordinating punch, and the two are currently available in a discounted bundle.

None of our current bundles will be available at their discounted bundle prices in the new Annual Catalog. The stamps and the framelits/punch may still be available individually (as is the case with “Bunch of Blossoms”), but if you would like to take advantage of any current bundle prices, order by May 31.

Daisy Delight

Happy Birthday Thinlit

My preorder came yesterday, and of course I had to play with it right away! I made the easiest of cards with the new Happy Birthday Thinlit. I can see that this is going to be a favorite. I found this thinlit easier to use than some of the other detailed thinlits – the script is a bit thicker, and it fell out of the die easily. It’s gorgeous isn’t it?

The designer paper is also from the upcoming 2017-2018 Annual Catalog – it is called “Pick a Pattern”. My card bases are Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo, but I think this design would work on most of our Brights.

The balloons are made with the Balloon Bouquet punch. I drew the strings, but you could use a string stamp and mask off the greeting area. I didn’t want to take the time because my preorder box of goodies was calling!

High Tide

If you like to build scenes, the multi-step “High Tide” set is for you. I’m not sure if to call it two-, three-, four-, or five-step. It’s as many steps as you need! I CASEd this card from my upline, Terri Meehan. I needed a simple birthday greeting, and I took it from “Guy Greetings”, but this set comes with some unique greetings, too.

Aren’t they great? The other images are great, too! We made a similar card at our church this month with the “little light” greeting. Since I tend to make so many flowery, feminine cards, it is nice to have a set like this that is suitable for masculine cards.

Graduation Money Holder

Most of the graduation cards I make are easily adaptable to any school colors, and this one is no different. The Large Numbers Framelits highlight the graduation year, and I love using them with craft foam – the “0” and the “7” are popped up on black foam for some fun dimension. The card opens to reveal a pocket that can hold a note and/or cash.

I used a retired stamp from “Bravo” on the inside, and a stamp from “Suite Sentiments” on the inner note (below).

The Basic Black base measures 7″ x 10 1/4″, scored at 3 1/2″ and 7″. This makes the dimensions of the front and back 3 1/2″ x 7″, and it fits in a Monarch envelope (3 7/8″ x 7 1/2″). The Pacific Point cardstock on the front measures 3 1/4″ x 6 3/4″ and the Whisper White measures 3″ x 6 1/2″.

The inside “pocket” is 3 1/4″ wide. I cut a diagonal edge on the inside, starting 1/2″ from the fold at the top right and 1/2″ up from the corner that folds in. I added adhesive under the bottom edge to create a pocket, but you could leave the piece loose and simply fold it over the Whisper White greeting piece. If you leave it loose, you could adhere the larger Whisper White piece to the inside.

The Pacific Point on the inside measures 2 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ and the Whisper White measures 2″ x 4″.

Housewarming

I made this for a friend who just moved into a new house. I used the stamp set “Banners for You” for the flowers. The set is almost all text and banners, but I was pleased that I could use just a few flowers to make the focal point. Here’s a look at the set.

I bought it for the banners and the variety of greetings, but I found that I could just stamp out a bunch of stems and flowers to fill a window box.

I simply used the window box framelit as a guide, and then I fussy-cut the top edge.

The greeting is from “Thoughtful Banners”. I guess it’s a banner day 🙂

Out with the Old…

…and in with the New!! The Retiring List is always bittersweet. While it’s so sad to see what’s on the way out, it’s exciting to anticipate the new catalog. I have seen the upcoming 2017-2018 Annual Catalog, and it is awesome!! I am only allowed to show the cover for now.

So what does this mess have to do with the new catalog? I am working on cards for my long-distance customers. I will send these out with their new catalogs this year.

Here’s one of the cards I’ll be sending – a CASE of a card I did earlier this year, and a favorite of mine. I am using the Cool Treats Suite. It’s so fresh and summery – what a perfect theme as the weather gets warmer. The stamps and framelits will carry over to the new Annual Catalog, but they will not be available bundled. If you would like to take advantage of the discounted bundle price, order by May 31.
