Swirly Scribbles Bunny

Once again, I found that the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits could be arranged into something cute and seasonal!  This time – a sweet bunny.

The two smaller swirls from the collection make up the bunny’s head and body, and each ear is trimmed from a long wavy piece.  I used a few of the Basket Bunch dies to make the eggs, and I added a retired greeting to make this into an Easter card.  It could just as easily be a spring card with any of the other accessories in the Basket Bunch bundle.

I have to thank my sister for sending the inspiration for this card – the picture below of a grapevine bunny wreath.  So cute!

Big on Birthdays

Don’t you love this pretty greeting from “Big on Birthdays”?  I have also used the coordinating floral garland stamp on the Tip Top Taupe card base.  Once again, a big greeting makes a simple card, and there are a handful of big greetings in this set.

The gingham print and the patterned strip are from the Succulent Garden designer paper collection.  I used Archival Black ink on the designer paper for good coverage, and I colored the flowers and leaves with my Stampin’ Write markers – Sweet Sugarplum, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Emerald Envy and Mint Macaron.

I’m not sure if you can make them out in the picture, but those are two staples holding the ribbon in place. I attached the designer paper to the Whisper White mat and added the doily and designer paper strip.  Then I stapled the ribbon in place before attaching the piece to the card base.

Look Who’s Turning 21!!

We celebrated a big birthday in our family this week – my older daughter Jen turned 21!!  I was so happy to have that Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer Paper for her card – she is a pink & purple girl.  The designer paper is from the Pop of Pink collection, and the Silver Foil stars were cut with the Star Blast Edgelit.

I had fun looking through old photos to come up with this little “Then and Now” collage.

Processed with MOLDIV

Banners for You

The “Banners for You”  banners can really steal the show on a card.  Take this one for example – you would think it would be in competition with the pretty background and foil heart, but the message stands out beautifully!  And there are so many combinations you can make with the banners in this bundle.  The stamps are shown below, and there is a set of 5 coordinating framelits available for this set.

I used a 4″ x 5 1/4″ mat of Blushing Bride, embossed with the Festive embossing folder.  The designer paper is a 3″ x 4″ piece from the Falling in Love collection, matted on a 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla.

St. Patrick’s Day

I used our greens with some of my favorite new products on my two St. Patrick’s Day cards today.  My first card uses Cucumber Crush with the Sealed with Love bundle and a banner of designer paper from the Affectionately Yours collection.  The shamrock is punched from the Pansy Punch – one petal is trimmed away to make a stem.

My second card uses the cool Mint Macaron with Emerald Envy, embossed with the Falling Petals embossing folder.  I’ve thrown in a touch of Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper, one of the colors in the Sale-a-bration glimmer paper collection.  The stamp is a retired single stamp, “Lucky Day”.

Foxy Friends Baby Bear

One more card from this week’s Card Buffet – I love this little bear made from the Fox Builder Punch!  I simply used scissors to round the ears.  The colors and paper is from the Foxy Suite.

Old Birds and New Birds

This is another of the cards we are making in Card Buffet this week, using one of the birds from the Birds & Blooms Thinlits along with “Wild about Flowers” and a greeting from a past Paper Pumpkin kit.  This “new bird” led to discussions about our favorite “old bird”.

Of course, I am talking about the bird from the Bird Builder Punch.  I still love this little bird!  This card was made with touches of Sale-a-bration paper and ribbon from several (5?) years ago.  An oldie but a goodie!

We should probably revisit this fancy fold with our new bird.  These were fun cards to make!

Click here to shop now or use the carousel below to go directly to any of the products in today’s “new bird” card.  Orders over $50 earn a FREE Sale-a-bration item and a Buckeye Point in my Loyalty Rewards program, and I’ll also send you my featured card.

Have a great day!

Gift from the Garden

This card gets me excited for planters and hanging baskets, and yes, even a little yard work!  The images are from “Gift from the Garden”, and the greeting is from this month’s Paper Pumpkin.  What a fun font, and what you can’t tell from the picture is this…”Happy”, “Birthday” and “To You” are separate stamps, so you can use them in different ways.  Stack them up, or make a long greeting as I have here.

That greeting is actually peeking out from the inner panel, and this is one of the cards we are making in Card Buffet this week.

Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Treat and Blog Candy Winner

Let’s start with the Blog Candy Winner from last Sunday’s “Think Spring” post.  There were 12 comments, and with the random number generator at Random.org, we have this winner:

The winner of the Crazy About You stamp set and Hello You thinlits is Joan Griest!  Congratulations – I will contact you to arrange delivery, Joan.  Thank you to all who played along!

My project for today also involves candy.  It is this cute (and simple!) little treat that uses our 3″ x 6″ cello bags.  We made these favors this weekend in my Team Meeting.  I CASEd the idea from Dawn Griffith, who made Valentine treats in these little bags.  This project is easily adaptable to any theme.

I used a Sweet Sugarplum designer paper pattern as the liner for the bag, after the candy was in place.  The paper measures 2 3/4″ x 10″, scored at 5″.  It is simply folded, and then slipped over the contents of the bag.  The bag is clipped shut with a clothespin.

The fold of the designer paper matches up with the top of the bag, and the folds on the sides of the cello bag tuck in neatly.

You could punch a circle in the designer paper as a window into the bag, but I added an oversized tag instead.  I used a bit of that gorgeous Sale-a-bration Glimmer Paper here, along with the cute bunny and greeting from “Basket Bunch”.

Don’t forget that orders over $50 qualify you for a Sale-a-bration item (like the Glimmer Paper) and a Buckeye Point in my Loyalty Rewards Program.  I’ll also send you my Featured Card.  Click here to go to the online store, or use the carousel below to be directed to a particular product.

Have a great Monday!

Peek-a-boo Gate Fold

This is a fun way to make a gate fold card, and it’s so forgiving because the flaps don’t have to meet precisely as in a typical gate fold.  The flaps here leave a 3/4″ strip of the inside exposed – and that is a perfect place for a greeting.  The greeting and basket pieces are all from the Basket Bunch Bundle.

The scalloped square panel is only attached to the top flap.  I used dimensionals to attach it to the flap after it was decorated.

The Sweet Sugarplum card base measures 5 ½” x 7 ¾”, scored at 1 ¾”, 6”.

The Whisper White mats measure 5 ¼” x 1 1/2” and the designer paper pieces measure 5″ x 1 1/4″.  I used patterns from the Succulent Garden collection, but this would be a good card type for many papers and themes.

Don’t forget to leave a comment on Monday’s post (click here) for the chance to win a great bundle.  Comments are due by noon on Sunday, and I will draw a random number and post the winner’s name on Monday.  At the time of this post, there are only 10 entries!!

Also, time is running out on the current Featured Card (shown below).  You can receive this card from me when you place a minimum $35 product order online.  In addition, orders over $50 qualify you for a Sale-a-bration item and a Buckeye Point in my Loyalty Rewards Program.  Click here to go to the online store, or use the carousel below to be directed to a particular product.

Have a great weekend!
