Throwback Pics and Cool Treats

img_3820c

While visiting my parents at Christmas, I found this early evidence of my love for color and paper.  I am 2 years old in this picture, and looking pretty determined!

At the other end of the table, my sister Mary Ann…

img_3821c1

Look how happy Mary Ann is!  Of course she is happy, look at what she has at her end of the table…

img_3821c2

Yes, she has the stamps and a stamp pad!  I think Chrissy would like a turn with that stamp pad down at her end of the table.

Fast forward more than 40 years, and Chris got her stamps, lots and lots of stamps LOL!  And stamps and ink have come a long way, thank goodness.  Here’s my latest creation with the fabulous new set “Cool Treats”.

cooltreatsbuckeyeinklings

How those little girls would have been delighted with these goodies!

I used 1″ x 3 1/4″ strips of Tasty Treats designer paper on a 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ mat of Watermelon Wonder.  Love the cheery colors in this paper!  I added some shapes to frame the ice cream cone, and a greeting.  Such a fun and carefree look!

Have a great day!

Happy Celebrations Shaker

Before we get to my card for the day, please allow me to share the news related to this new sales period…

Today is the first day that we can order products from our fabulous new 2017 Occasions and Sale-a-bration Catalogs!  The new products are shown in the online store.

If you would like to page through these catalogs, you can do it immediately by clicking on either of the catalog images in the left column of this page.  The links bring up pdfs of each catalog.  If you would like to receive actual paper copies of the catalogs, please email me at stampyourworld@gmail.com, and I will be happy to send them to you.

Today is also the first day of Sale-a-bration, which runs through March 31.  Every $50* spent earns your choice of a FREE sale-a-bration item.  Large orders (over $250*) earn an extra $25 in Stampin’ Rewards.  (* before S/H and tax)

Here’s the best deal…join as a Demonstrator during SAB, and you receive two additional stamp sets of your choice in your Starter Kit!  This adds a value of up to $104 to the already-great deal!  For $99 + tax (shipping included), you get the products of your choice up to $125, any two stamp sets, and business supplies.

If you join as a Demonstrator, there is no obligation to sell, or even to purchase anything further.  Future purchases are discounted at least 20%.  Please contact me at stampyourworld@gmail.com if you would like to discuss this, or click here to learn more and to purchase your Starter Kit.

The three-month Paper Pumpkin subscription is also on sale during Sale-a-bration.  Purchase it for $55 in the online store, and it qualifies you for a free SAB item.  The dollars spent also count toward Stampin’ Rewards.

Want more Paper Pumpkin?  If you pay for the year-long subscription at $215, and add an additional $35 in product, your order total is $250 before shipping and tax, making you eligible for 5 free SAB items and $50 in Stampin’ Rewards.

And now for my card…

happyoccasionsshakerbuckeyeinklings

“Happy Celebrations” is a big greeting set with a fun twist.  There are coordinating embossing folders that deboss words.  Instead of creating raised words, the folders press the words into the cardstock.  I debossed the word “celebrate” into Thick Whisper White cardstock here, and then I stamped over it with the solid stamps in the set.

I used a clear envelope to encase the stamped cardstock and sequins.  The colors are Sweet Sugarplum and Peekaboo Peach, on a Flirty Flamingo base, and I used retired In Color sequins and jewelry beads (not SU!) in my shaker.

Here’s another version, with Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay on a Basic Black card.  I used Metallic Sequins and jewelry beads.  I also added Bermuda Bay sequins from my sequin trim and Melon Mambo sequins from the Brights Collection.

And one more…Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango on Pacific Point with Brights Sequins and jewelry beads.  I also added a Party Animals embellishment (the party hat).  This is a great “use what you have” project – I am showing supplies for this Pacific Point card in the carousel below, but I think you can see how flexible the supply list can be!

The video below shows more detail of how these cards were created.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about the new catalogs, new promotions, Paper Pumpkin subscriptions, or Starter Kit.  Have a great day!

Farewell to the Holiday Catalog

holiday16_cover-36

Today is the last day to order from the 2016 Holiday Catalog, and many items are on sale.  Click here to look through the offerings in the online store.

Several items from the Holiday Catalog will be carried over through the Occasions Catalog sales period (through May).  I am guessing that some will even continue into the next Annual Catalog, as we saw last year.  However, in the past some items (even carryover items) have retired earlier than expected as inventory was depleted.  If you are interested in any carryover items, I recommend purchasing them as soon as possible.  Please contact me if you have any questions about this.  The carryover items are posted in a graphic at the end of this post.

Also, please note that carryover items will not be available in discounted bundles after today.  The graphic shows the individual item – refer to your catalog or the online store if you would like the bundle price today.

I looked back to see which of my favorites are NOT carrying over, and I picked two of my favorites.  I am sad to say good-bye to these:

Totally Trees, Item 142198, $26.00 (photopolymer)

This was an awesome set for fall, but as you can see, this is a set for all seasons!

Tin of Tags, Item 142180, On Sale for $16.80 (photopolymer)

These photos show a mix of tag stamps, including “Tin of Tags”.  It’s a set that I used over and over this season!  It’s a keeper!

And now the list of CARRYOVERS, with expected availability through May:

Loyalty Rewards Program

I hope you have all had a fabulous holiday season!  Happy New Year!  Don’t you just love the promise of a new year?  And even better, the fun of new Occasions and Sale-a-brations catalogs?  Only two more days until we can order!

In the meantime…

I am so pleased to introduce my Loyalty Rewards program.  It is my way of thanking you for your business.  While I will always send a card for online orders, orders over $50 will also receive Buckeye Points.  You get one Buckeye Point for every $50 spent.  Accumulate 8 Buckeye Points, and you will receive the $40 stamp set of your choice.

Click here for complete details on this program.

I also have a fun card to show you today, using one of my favorite sets from the upcoming 2017 Occasions Catalog.  The set is called “Happy Celebrations”, and I have used it here with designer paper from the Party Animals collection.  These new products will be available starting this Wednesday, January 4.

Have a great Monday!

Miniatures

nov2016paperpumpkinbuckeyeinklings

Who can resist miniatures of anything?  I still can’t put away the cute little houses and trees from my November 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit.  Here I used them on one of our precut and scored Whisper White note cards for an easy “hello”.

I stamped a line of houses on a 1″ strip of Whisper White, and I fussy-cut the roofline.  Then I simply mounted it on dimensionals over a line of trees.  The miniature greeting is from “Thoughtful Banners”.

A Sneak Peek and a Throwback

Who can resist looking back and pondering how time changes things?  I am a huge fan of old pictures and preserving memories.  When possible, I will include a throwback in my Thursday post.  It may be an old picture, an early card sample, a new use of an old set…who knows?  Could be anything that stirs a memory, maybe not even related to stamping!

dsc_0291w

I was playing around with “Cool Treats”, a set from the upcoming 2017 Occasions Catalog, and it brought back this memory, from 2007…

dsc_0293w

I made this card in a class; I wasn’t a demonstrator at the time.  It uses two sets that retired in 2007 – “Sparkling Summer” and “Treat Yourself”.  There is a layer of Crystal Effects (also a retired product) over the popsicles that creates a glossy finish.

dsc_0292w

“Cool Treats” is a super-fun builder set of popsicle and ice cream elements.  It has a fabulous coordinating specialty designer paper collection and framelit set.  You can’t see it in the picture, but each of the treats on this strip of designer paper has a clear glossy coating, similar to the effects we were creating on our popsicles ten years ago.

These products from the 2017 Occasions Catalog will be available beginning January 4.  Please contact me at stampyourworld@gmail.com if you would like a catalog – I will be happy to mail you the Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-bration brochure.

Have a great day!

Occasions Catalog Sneak Peek Blog Hop

thailand-grand-vacation-blog-hop

Welcome to the Grand Vacation Achievers hop for December. This month we are previewing items from the 2017 Occasions Catalog.  These items will be available starting January 4.

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog (Chris Slogar) or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the projects.

I chose to feature “Happy Celebrations” and the coordinating Celebrations Duo Textured Impressions Embossing Folders.

Stampin' Up! Happy Celebrations

I embossed the 2″ x 4 1/4″ Thick Whisper White panel with the word “celebrate”, and then I stamped over it in Crushed Curry with one of the solid dots from the “Happy Celebrations” set.  I also stamped over the embossed word in Tangerine Tango with the solid balloon from “Balloon Adventures”.

Stampin' Up! Happy Celebrations

I used the colors and accessories from the Party Animal Suite, which includes the designer paper, ribbon, balloon embellishment, and washi tape (inside panel of card).

This is a simple card, but I posted an even simpler version of this card previously.  With different colors and designer paper from the Succulent Garden collection, this one provides a softer look.

happycelebrationsbuckeyeinklings

I used both of the solid dots from “Happy Celebrations” on this card, in Soft Sky and Sweet Sugarplum.

dsc_0262w

The new paperclips and Sale-a-bration ribbon make an easy embellishment here – no bows or knots required!

Thank you for visiting and for taking part in our blog hop.  Remember that currently you are at my blog – Chris Slogar – so check the blog hop line up list to see who is next, and enjoy!

November 2016 Paper Pumpkin

dsc_0286w

I didn’t make my November kit into Christmas cards in time to mail them, so I decided to make thank you cards instead.  The cards are smaller than a regular card, more like a note card, so they make perfect thank yous.  I used a greeting from “Thoughtful Banners”.

The refill for this kit is available for $8.00, so even if you used your kit to make Christmas cards, you can still get supplies to make wintry note cards.  I think they are perfect for a little hello, thinking of you, or thank you.

Time is Running Out…

dsc_0249w

Time is running out for Christmas cards, and I really hate to see this season of bright and cheery, red and green, holly jolly cards come to a close.  Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year for cards!  These two cards were made by my upline’s upline, Terri Meehan.  I have been meaning to CASE these, but as I said…time is running out.  So I will just share them here today, and it will surely be the last of my Christmas card posts.

dsc_0250w

This one is so warm and cozy, made with products from our Warmth and Cheer Suite.

dsc_0251w

The Merriest Wishes bundle is the focal point here, but I also love the use of the stars from “Tin of Tags” and the Pine Bough textured impressions embossing folder.

Yes, time is running out, but you can still pick up these fabulous Christmas products for next year’s cards.  I know many of you make Christmas cards year-round.

To my regular readers, you may have noticed a slow-down in my posts lately.  I will continue to post, but less frequently over the holidays.  I do have a load of great new Occasions and Sale-a-bration products that I am anxious to play with and show off, but that will have to take a backseat to family and holiday events for now.  Hope you are all enjoying the holiday season, and I wish you a very Merry Christmas!
