Perfectly Wrapped for Christmas

dsc_0264w

The holidays are a great time to deliver thanks to special people.  I used “Perfectly Wrapped” with This Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper.  They look like they were made for each other.

The wood grain pattern measures 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″, and the diagonal stripe is 2″ x 5 1/2″.  Since there are 4 sheets of each pattern in this paper pack, this paper goes a little further than our regular packs.  It is thinner, but perfect for layering.

Have a great weekend!

Happy Celebrations Sneak Peek

happycelebrationsbuckeyeinklings

“Happy Celebrations” and the coordinating Celebrations Duo Textured Impressions Embossing Folders were at the top of my preorder list.  First of all, I love big greetings because they tend to fill up cards quickly, making design and production easy.  But this is not just a big stamped greeting – it’s more fun!

The embossing folders in this set deboss the words – in this case “celebrate” (the other folder in the duo is “HAPPY”).  That means that they press into the surface of the cardstock so that the word is recessed.  I pressed the word “celebrate” into a piece of 2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of  Thick Whisper White cardstock.

dsc_0262w

Then I came along with two of the solid circle stamps from the set, and I stamped over the debossed word in Soft Sky and Sweet Sugarplum.  This is the fun step – it’s like magic to see the word revealed, kind of like the emboss-resist technique but you don’t have to heat emboss anything.  Maybe we should call this deboss-resist?

There are a few other Sneak Peeks on this card – the paper clip and the designer paper (Succulent Garden) will be available with this stamp set combo in the Occasions Catalog (Jan 4 – Mar 31).

The ribbon is a Sale-a-bration item, and it comes in a two-pack of 7 yard spools, one with silver threads and one with gold threads.  You will be able to choose this two-pack for free with a $50 order during Sale-a-bration (Jan 4 – Mar 31).

Have a great day!

Sealed With Love Sneak Peek

sealedwithlovemailbox

Wait ’til you see all of the cute framelits in the Love Notes collection!  They coordinate with the “Sealed with Love” stamp set, and I have used four of the framelits here – the envelope, the envelope liner, and the two note card inserts.  The Real Red and Whisper White paper is also new, from a collection of delightful prints called Sending Love.  These new products will be available starting January 4, 2017.

dsc_0255w

I made a mailbox for all of these little envelopes.  It started as a 2 3/8″ x 3 1/2″ Dapper Denim rectangle.  I rounded the top corners, and I cut out a small section at the bottom with a 1 5/8″ square framelit.

I also cut two 1 5/8″ stitched squares with one of the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I cut 3/8″ off one edge of one of the squares, and I also scored it 1/4″ from this cut.  The cut and scored piece is for the door of the mailbox.

dsc_0254w

I glued the 1/4″ flap to the mailbox, and I propped the door open with two stacked dimensionals.  Then I added the envelopes.

dsc_0256w

“Labeler Alphabet” comes in handy for any words that you need.  Here’s my trick for mounting them close – I use two blocks and alternate letters.

dsc_0257w

First, I lay out every other letter face down on my grid paper, and I pick them up with an acrylic block.

dsc_0258w

I stamp that first group of letters on the grid paper, and then add the missing letters, face down.

dsc_0259w

Use a second acrylic block to pick up the second group of letters.  You can stamp out any word or phrase repeatedly in two steps with stamps that you set up in this manner.

Have a great Monday!

Great Kits Are Great Gifts

We have two all-inclusive general greeting card kits that make beautiful gifts.  These are the cards you can make with the Oh Happy Day Card Kit.  The kit comes with stamps, ink, and all of the trims; and it comes in a lovely box for gift-giving.  All you need in addition to the kit is your choice of adhesive.

Here’s what you get for $35.  The stamp set can be used over and over on future projects.

Here’s a look at our Watercolor Wishes Card Kit, also $35.  Each of these kits makes 20 cards.

Either of these is perfect for that crafty person on your gift list that loves to create, but doesn’t have all the stuff.  Actually, it is welcome to those of us that have quite a stash of craft goodies as well.  Everyone loves projects that are ready to go!  The stamp sets are also great additions to any collection.

Speaking of kits, don’t overlook this Stitched with Cheer Card Kit from the Holiday Catalog.

dsc_0209w

It makes six of each of the cards shown with the coordinating stamp set, “Stitched with Cheer”.  The stamp set and inks are not included with this kit, but the kit is currently on sale for $14.40, and the stamp set is $21.00.  The stamp set includes 27 stamps.

This kit has been an unexpected favorite with my team and customers.  The stitching is easy; the cards are full of lovely details; and the envelopes come with liners for a really sharp coordinated look.

This kit will only be available while supplies last.

Pocket for a Gift Certificate

wrappedinwarmthgiftcert

I remade a project from last month to create a pocket for my Buckeye Inklings gift certificates.  The original project had a slot for a gift card (photo below, click here for gift card post).

wrappedinwarmthgiftcardbuckeyeinklings2

That slot, cut with a stem from the Everyday Jars framelit collection, is too short for my gift certificates, so I changed the insert on this project to create a pocket.

dsc_0245w

The pocket could also hold cash or a gift card.

The Basic Black cardstock measures 4 1/4″ x 6 1/2″.  The Whisper White pocket piece measures 4″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 6 1/4″.

Stampin’ Up! does not offer Gift Certificates or Gift Cards.  Individual Demonstrators do often offer them, and those certificates need to be redeemed through the issuing Demonstrator.  Please check with your recipient’s Demonstrator if you would like to purchase a Gift Certificate.

If you do not have a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, or if I am your Demonstrator 🙂 please contact me at stampyourworld@gmail.com if you would like to purchase a Gift Certificate.  Through the holiday season, I am providing Gift Certificates in the pocket card shown in this post.  I will also include a Grinch Gift Card Holder.  I can mail these items to you, or directly to your recipient.

Cheerful Tags

cheerfultagsbuckeyeinklings

I have used the Cheerful Tags Framelits with the “Tin of Tags” stamp set from the Holiday Catalog to make this gift tag for a wine bottle.  The framelit collection can be purchased in a bundle with “Here’s to Cheers”, another coordinating set.

This framelit collection has a pair of tag shapes and several accent pieces which can be combined in many ways.  I am using the tag that has a hole for a bottle neck.  The tag created by this die also has slots, making it so easy to add a twist of color with ribbon. dsc_0239w

That gorgeous lacy background piece that I have cut from Gold Foil is also made with a framelit in this collection.  And good news…there will be another stamp set that coordinates with these framelits in the upcoming Occasions Catalog.  Here’s a look at the pieces in the Cheerful Tags collection:

Time of Year

timeofyear2buckeyeinklings

I love to pair a big greeting with a designer paper background.  Throw in a few accents, and you really can’t do any more because, quite frankly, you are out of space!  The big greeting and pretty background do all of the work for you.

I particularly like this big greeting from “Time of Year” because you can easily change the sentiment to suit different occasions.  The Presents & Pinecones designer paper is perfect for a seasonal birthday card, but of course, it makes a lovely Christmas card too.

timeofyear1buckeyeinklings

Are you noticing how sharp the black ink looks?  I used Archival Black on this card – I think it really makes a difference when the stamped image has thick lines or solid areas.

The designer paper measures 4″ x 5 1/4″.  The Whisper White panel measures 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ and the Cherry Cobbler mat is 3 7/16″  x 4 11/16″.  I apologize for the sixteenths!  Sometimes adding 1/4″ is too much and 1/8″ is too little…at least in my mind.

timeofyear3buckeyeinklings

Here’s another great thing – the metallic thread in red and green!  These two colors come together in a combo pack of two spools, and they are discounted now as part of our year-end closeout sale.  Many of our current Holiday Catalog items are on sale now, but only while supplies last.  Click here to check out all of the deals in the store.

timeofyear4buckeyeinklings

“Time of Year” also includes some little accent stamps – I used one on the inside along with a coordinating strip of Presents & Pinecones paper.  “Time of Year” is a Host set, available for purchase with Stampin’ Rewards on orders over $150.

Thanks for stopping!  Have a great weekend!

Hot Cocoa Pouch

candycanecocoapouchbuckeyeinklings

This sweet little favor has been popular this fall – in classes and at my craft show.  This is a pouch that holds a hot cocoa packet, and there is a chocolate-dipped peppermint stick tied to the outside.

This isn’t a new design, and it isn’t my original.  I am not sure who to credit, I have seen so many versions over the years.  I just had to make it with this year’s Candy Cane Lane Suite of products – they are just perfect for this project!

Directions are in the video.  Have a great day!

<3 Ohio State <3

My thoughts and prayers are with students, staff, responders, and victims at Ohio State after yesterday’s terrifying attack.  I am thankful that none of our family and friends were directly involved.  However, beyond the immediate injury and effects, this does affect us all.  Yet another space that should be a safe haven was changed, and we just wish the world could be a better place for our kids.

dsc_0224w2

I was playing around with new product this past weekend, and I had made these two cards for my two favorite Buckeyes.  The cards were supposed to be a little pick-me-up as my girls head into finals, and now finals don’t seem as important (but if my girls are reading this, they better still be studying like crazy!!)  🙂

dsc_0223w

Here’s another sample that shows off the cool heart border that is part of a new set of framelits that will be available January 4.  The little envelope and note card are made with the same framelit collection.  It is called “Love Notes”, and it has a coordinating stamp set, “Sealed with Love”.

So, as the result of current events, a little sneak peek for you today…and much love to our family and friends at Ohio State!  Be strong and be safe!
