Cookie Cutter Eskimo

cookiecuttereskimobuckeyeinklings

We are working ahead tonight in Card Ministry.  We will make this cute little Eskimo card to send in January.

I stamped the Eskimo from “Cookie Cutter Christmas” on watercolor paper with Archival Black.  I then watercolored the Mint Macaron snowsuit and Blushing Bride cheeks with my aquapainter, picking up ink from drops placed in my stamp pad lids.  I used my Sweet Sugarplum Stampin’ Write Marker for the mittens and boots.  There is also Wink of Stella on the fur trim.

Today is the last day of our Online Extravaganza, with special deals again today.  I will repost the list here.  If you are local, and you would like to add something to the order I will place today, please contact me by 5pm.  Click here to go to the online store.

Happy Shopping!

Fresh Cookies

cookiecutterchristmasbuckeyeinklings

I have seen a handful of these cute cookie sheets on Pinterest – I don’t know who to credit with the idea.  Since “Cookie Cutter Christmas” has been a favorite of mine this season, I had to make one too.

My cookie sheet started as a 2″ x 5″ piece of Silver Foil.  I punched each end with the Scallop Tag Topper punch, and then I scored each end at 3/4″ and 7/8″.  I punched a bite out of one of the gingerbread men with the retired 7/8″ scallop circle punch, but you could also use the new Layering Circles framelits.

And of course, love that new stitched edge created on the greeting by the Stitched Shapes framelits!  Demand for these new framelits has been higher than anticipated, and they are currently unavailable.  I will let you know when they are back in stock.

Have a great day!

Christmas Pines

I love this technique that our CEO Sara Douglass shared with us at our convention earlier this month.  The greeting is stamped with two colors, and the lower portion of it is heat embossed.  I used Rich Razzleberry, Sweet Sugarplum and Copper Embossing Powder on the bold Noel greeting from “Christmas Pines”.

Photographing shiny things, like foil and embossing, is not my strong suit, but I hope you can get an idea of how showy this is!

Here’s a quick little video that shows the procedure to ink the stamp to create this effect..

Don’t forget that today is the start of our week-long Online Extravagana, with special deals today and next Monday, November 28.  Here is a complete listing of the sale.  Click here to go to the store.

Wrapped in Warmth Gift Card Holder

I love how these Kraft gift bags look embossed with the Cable Knit embossing folder.  I got the idea from Lorri Heiling’s site – she made a really cute bag like this decorated with “Cookie Cutter Christmas” (see it here).  I wanted something masculine, so I used the Warmth & Cheer Suite for my gift card holder.

Here’s what the inner card looks like.  I made the slot for the gift card with a stem framelit from the Everyday Jars collection.  Its length is perfect – what a great alternative to the Word Window that was never quite long enough!

Here’s a view of just the Whisper White part of the card (this one is stamped with a different greeting from the same stamp set).  It measures 4″ x 6 1/4″, and the slot is located about 2 1/2″ above the bottom edge.

Just be careful when adhering this piece to the cardstock – place adhesive above the slot, but not directly below it.  The gift card will slide into the space below the slot.  The Basic Black cardstock measures 4 1/4″ x 6 1/2″.

Fall Thank You

dsc_0208w

You wouldn’t necessarily think of Watermelon Wonder as a fall color, but I was recently reminded of its upcoming retirement so that makes me want to use it while I still can.  And these trees from “Totally Trees” look great in every color!

Have a great day!

Basket of Wishes

dsc_0199w

This card that I received from my upline Mindy Gray captures the feeling in the air this week.  We have had such a beautiful fall in Ohio, and the weather is gorgeous at the moment.  The sun is shining, and everything looks golden and seasonal.

This is a stamp set from the Holiday Catalog that I haven’t featured yet – “Basket of Wishes”.  It offers three cute baskets to fill, and a choice of contents and greetings.  It’s perfect for fall…and beyond!

A Little Present

dsc_0197w

I love this swap I received at OnStage from Stephanie Daniel.  It’s smaller than our standard cards, but not so small that you couldn’t put it in an A2 envelope and mail it.  The finished size is 3 1/2″ x 5 1/4″.  It could also be a large gift tag.

Do you recognize the bow?  It is the flower from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.

I CASEd it to make with my team this weekend – we made this Christmas version with Presents & Pinecones designer paper.  The card base is 3 1/2″ x 7″ Thick Whisper White, scored at 3 1/2″.  The front of the card is covered with a 3 1/2″ square of designer paper.  The Cherry Cobbler ribbon measures 1″ x 3 1/2″.

I love these projects that show off our designer paper – we have so many good ones to choose from!

Have a good Monday!

No-fuss Gift Card Holders

dsc_0194w

Truth be told, the punch art on the Grinch is a little fussy, but the gift card holder itself is not.  I make a lot of Gift Card Holders at this time of year – they are great sellers at Craft Fairs, and I use quite a few myself.  These are made with the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits, my “go-to” tool for easy Gift Card Holders.

The Santa belt and Grinch are long-time favorites for me.  The Grinch is made much easier this year thanks to our Jolly Hat Builder punch.  This punch also came in handy for my polar bear (reindeer with antlers removed).  The polar bear is the mascot of our local school sytem, so I think he will be popular.  And of course, I can’t get enough of the Gingerbread Men and Candy Cane Lane papers!

Have a great weekend!
