This card shows off a retiring product that hasn’t been with us long – the Mustache Framelit, now reduced to $3.98 (50% off) on the Retiring List. The Lost Lagoon stitched ribbon is also half off at $4.48. Many of the tools and embellishments on the list are half off.
This was one of the cards we made in this week’s Card Buffet. Many people used a similar “Happy Birthday” stamp instead. The stamps are from one of last year’s Paper Pumpkin kits, and the designer paper is First Edition.
This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge is this great sketch. I found it perfect for highlighting those adorable little garden accessories in Handpicked Framelits. Here’s my card:
I have always been a huge fan of Night of Navy. It was the third Stampin’ Up! color I ever purchased, right behind Basic Black and Chocolate Chip. Flowerpot designer paper puts Night of Navy in a preppy combination with Garden Green. Perfect for this card!
I do want to share how I added the Crushed Curry on the Decorative Label piece. I gripped the Whisper White cardstock in the punch, without quite punching it all the way. I took the fine tip of my Stampin’ Write marker and carefully traced the inside of the punch onto the cardstock before punching through.
Thanks for checking out my challenge card for this week. You can see all of the Challenge Team inspirations at Create with Connie and Mary. Please take a minute to check out what these talented ladies have created. You can also see the entries as they come in, and we’d love to have you play along with your own entry!
This is my favorite stamp from the set “Bravo” – I just love the different fonts! The size is great, too. Big greetings fill up a card fast, and you really don’t need much else. I stamped this once in Pool Party on a scrap piece of Whisper White. I fussy-cut the “YOU” portion to add to my card.
The Whisper White piece on this card is 1 7/8″ x 4″, the Basic Black is 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″, and the Pool Party mat is 4″ x 5 1/4″.
I have this smart phone in Card Buffet this week. I have seen these all over the internet, and I thought it would make a fun graduation card. I am not sure who to credit, but I want to highlight this card because of a retiring item – the Word Bubbles framelits! Gonna miss these guys! They are still available for 50% off or $12.48. Many of the retiring framelits are 50% off. The coordinating stamp set “Just Sayin’ ” is also retiring.
The base of my phone is 3 1/2″ x 11″, scored and folded at 5 1/2″. The Whisper White mat is 3″ x 4″. I used Basic Gray for the trim pieces – the 3/4″ circle for the button, the medium eye on the Owl builder for the camera, and one of the Chalk Talk slots, trimmed, for the microphone.
I used two of the “Just Sayin’ ” stamps, and then I made “congratulations” on my own. I used my Project Life pen to trace the framelit before removing the cut piece . In the picture below, the cardstock has already been run through the Big Shot.
You can make any greeting match the ones from the set this way.
I want to show you what I made this weekend with my April Paper Pumpkin kit. I really love the stamps and the materials that came, but since I give a lot of gift cards at this time of the year, I modified the intended use a bit. You’ll see all of the stamps in the video – I only used a few here.
Our local school system colors are Purple and Yellow, so I used the four Crushed Curry projects for graduation gift card holders. Instead of folding the Crushed Curry cards into a regular card, I made them into pockets. I folded the card with the printed sides together, and then I folded one end back 1 3/4″ (where “Congratulations” is stamped.) I secured the sides with sticky strip.
I used the “Class of 2015” stamp on the outside of the pocket envelope that comes with the kit. It’s tough to stamp a solid image on this type of rough cardstock. Here’s my advice – start with a well-inked pad, and plan to fill in any gaps with a blender pen. I added Elegant Eggplant loops to my bows with pieces from the Bow Builder Punch.
I made the Pacific Point cards into thank you cards, and I added a little Strawberry Slush. I mounted the white panel so that the fold is at the bottom, though, so I can drop a gift card into the card. Since the fold is at the bottom, the gift card will surely come out of the pocket with the card.
Either of these will fit into an A2 envelope so the gift card is completely enclosed.
I am attaching Stampin’ Up!’s directions on how to use this month’s kit, but first, I have two samples to show you from the March kit. These were made by Carol Coy, and they are CASEs. They are super-cute, and I don’t think we can get enough of this sharp color combination!
I took a cue from the pretty spring colors in my All Abloom paper stack to make this card. These colors are perfect for spring, and even better, the stack is part of our Retiring List sale – it is 50% off while supplies last, and it includes 48 sheets of 4 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ papers in 12 different two-sided patterns. That means 24 pattern choices in a size that is great for cards.
I used the “Crazy About You” bundle for the sentiment. You can come up with just about any wish by combining the 4 thinlit words with 30 word stamps in this bundle.
I saw the colors in this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge as masculine, and I went with that first impression because I always have a shortage of guy cards.
“BIRTHDAY” is from the Crazy About You bundle, which I have been using like crazy! It is heat embossed with white embossing powder. The big letters for “HAPPY” are cut with the Perfect Print Alphabet Bigz dies – I thought the block letters suited this card better than the script thinlits from the bundle.
The envelopes and hearts are from the photpolymer set “Lovely Amazing You”, and I used a punch from the Little Labels Punch Pack for my stamps.
The designer paper on the lower half of the card is from the Adventure Bound designer paper stack. The Washi tape is Epic Day, mounted first on a Whisper White strip to show off its bold stripes.
I designed this card last week, well before I saw the Retiring List. The letter dies, punch pack and Washi tape are all on the chopping block! I guess that means more room in the new catalog for great new items.
Thank you for checking out my Create with Connie and Mary card. You can see all of the Challenge Team cards and entries for this color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary. We’d love to have you play along too!
This is one of the cards we are making in Greetings a la Carte this week. My cards don’t always have a lot of stamping, though I do feel that cards with more stamping are more fun to make. “Sheltering Tree” is really fun this way, with all of its components to create a scene. Monday’s “Petal Potpourri” card was all stamping, too, and really fun to make.
This card looks really different when you change the colors. It went from a serene sympathy card in Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow and Blackberry Bliss to a cheery and lighthearted card. The colors here are Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Puddding and Wild Wasabi.
Retiring products from the 2014-2015 Annual Catalog are available now at discounts up to 50%. There are seven pages of great deals!! Get them while you can…they will only be available until June 2, or while supplies last.
Stampin’ Up! will continue to produce retiring stamps through May 26, but accessories (paper, punches, dies, ribbon, etc) are only available while supplies last. In past years, many items have sold out early.
Stampin’ Up! will also be updating the Clearance Rack tomorrow, April 22.
I’ve got something quick and easy for your Monday. This set of blank cards is really low-fuss, but so bright and cheerful! You could add a sentiment if you wanted to, but I am leaving mine as is to use as note cards. The colors are Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Strawberry Slush and Wild Wasabi. The stamps are from “Petal Potpourri”.
