Gingham Gala Baskets

I made these cute baskets last night on Facebook Live.  It is a bit early for Easter, but since this pretty paper is back in stock, now is a good time to get it!  The shredded paper I used in the baskets is also available right now on the Clearance Rack.

These baskets are easy to make from just a few pieces of cardstock and designer paper.  You can make many in a short period of time.  They are just the right size for a few treats – 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ x 2″.

I used the Best Bunny bundle and two circle framelits to create the elements for my pick.  The egg is cut with a balloon framelit from the Candles and Confetti collection.

The pieces used for the baskets are as follows:

Cardstock  3 3/4″ square, scored 1/2″ from each edge

Cardstock (2) 1/2″ x 11″

Designer Paper (2) 2″ x 6″

Please find complete instructions in the video below.  If you are receiving this post in an email, click here for the video.

Click here to see how my friend Ann used these baskets in a beautiful tablescape.  Her embossed Gray Granite version offers a totally different and sophisticated look!

I also showed these baskets, made with our Sweet Cups as a base.  This is a great option if you need a closed container, and they are food-safe.

The cups are wrapped with Gingham Gala designer paper.  The pdf below has a template for covering the cups.  I added two 1/2″ x 11″ pieces of cardstock for the basket rim and handle.  I used some circles and daisies to decorate the top.

Download (PDF, 242KB)

Print this pdf at full size for a template to wrap the Sweet Cups.  To use this template on the Gingham Gala paper, I had to cut a left and a right end of the pattern as shown below, each side is over half the length of the full template.

One Layout, Four Painted Seasons

There are a handful of new items available as free Sale-a-bration choices.  Today, I am showing off the beautiful Painted Seasons designer series paper and coordinating stamp set.  These are available as a bundle that is free with a $100 purchase.

I used the same layout for each of my seasonal cards.  The background mats are embossed with the Striped Scallops embossing folder, and the designer paper pieces measure 3″ x 4″ and 1 1/4″ x 3″.

On the Petal Pink version, I tucked in a greeting from “All Adorned”, another of the new Sale-a-bration choices.  The flower was stamped first in Petal Pink.  I added Poppy Parade to the stamp with a dauber and stamped over the Petal Pink flower.  Finally, I added Early Espresso to the stamp and stamped again.  It is easy to add multiple layers of color to an image when the stamp is mounted on the Stamparatus.

On the Pool Party card, I stamped directly on the designer paper in Call Me Clover with a greeting from the “Lasting Lily”.  The large succulent is stamped with Lemon Lime Twist and Call Me Clover, and the pearls are colored with the dark Flirty Flamingo Blend.

I couldn’t resist adding our sweet little fox to this version.  He is just chattering away here, saying something loving.  The Crumb Cake shape behind him is made with our new Story Label Punch.  It will be available March 1.  The framelits to cut all of the Painted Seasons images will also be available March 1.

Finally, the Call Me Clover card uses the Story Label Punch and greeting from “All Adorned”.  The designer paper pack I used for all of these cards includes three 12″ x 12″ sheets of each of these seasonal patterns, making it a pack you can enjoy all year!

I hope it’s not too confusing that I am showing products from two different promotions here.  Please check out the flyers below for the details.

First, I have a pdf which shows the new Sale-a-bration items, including the Painted Seasons Bundle and All Adorned stamp set.  These are available now, free with a qualifying purchase.

Download (PDF, 1.56MB)

And next, I reference products that will be available March 1 – the Four Seasons framelits and Story Label Punch.  These items are part of a collection of new products shown in the pdf below, and they will be for sale starting March 1.

Flowering Desert

“Flowering Desert” is a multi-step set with unlimited possibilities.  It’s fun to create with these stamps – sort of like flower arranging, but with cacti.  Once I had my background, I just started adding pieces.  The stamp set is shown below.  I love that it is photopolymer so I could curve the long greeting around my images.

I created my background by dragging my ink pads (Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, and Mossy Meadow) across a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I started with a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece, and cut it down to 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ after I created my scene.

Well Said Birthday Wishes

Sorry to have missed my normal Facebook Live time slot last night!  With the sudden turn of events in my house this week, I didn’t get my projects done – I will finish them to present next week.

Thank you so much for your concern about Chip (my dog, for those who are wondering!) . He did have a tumor removed from his hind quarters.  It was the size of a superball.  The removal went well, and he is doing fine at home now.  I have him barricaded in on his favorite couch this morning, giving him a break from the crate!  Here is a shot from when he came home last night.

I do have a really bright and cheery card to share with you today.  As much as I love Calypso Coral, I usually don’t use this much of it…

I just really loved how these bright and cheery colors came together!  The greeting – both stamped portion and thinlit – comes from the Well Said bundle.  This is such a versatile bundle.  With 51 stamps and 24 dies, there are countless greeting possibilities.

The papers are from the Happiness Blooms collection, except for the Pineapple Punch polka dot which comes from the 2018-2020 In Colors designer paper stack.

Thanks for checking out my card today!  If you need any of our awesome products, please click here to shop now, or use the carousel below to be directed to a product used on today’s card.

2019 Occasions and SAB Blog Hop

Welcome to the Trip Achievers Blog Hop for February!  You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog (Chris Slogar) or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the projects.

This month, we are highlighting products from the 2019 Occasions and Sale-a-bration Catalogs.  One of my favorite bundles from the Occasions Catalog is Birthday Cheer, which I have used on some of the pillow boxes I am showing today.

I have used our precut and scored Kraft Pillow Boxes three different ways here.  The two on the left use the Birthday Cheer stamps and framelits, and the one on the right uses the Coffee Cafe bundle.

This is a full size pillow box wrapped with a 2″ x 8″ strip of designer paper from the How Sweet It Is collection.  I punched the ends of the strip with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch, and I added a stitched rectangle, the present die cut from the Birthday Cheer bundle, and a tag.

I used half a pillow box here to hold a cello bag with candy.

My final version is for oversized items – in this case a Hershey Bar and an instant latte.  These little pillow boxes are so handy for favors and gift packaging!  Check out the video for more complete instructions.  If you are receiving this post in an email, click here for the video.

Thanks so much for taking part in our blog hop!  Please use any of the links below to travel to another blog on the list.

Forever Lovely

I tend to neglect pastels in favor of bold colors.  What a shame because we have such lovely colors throughout all of our collections!  I always love Soft Sea Foam when I use it, and it is so sweet here with Flirty Flamingo.

The flowers and leaves are from “Forever Lovely”.  These are very intricate two-step stamps.  I use my Stamparatus every time I use this pair.

In addition to lining up the stamps, the Stamparatus allows me to add additional color to the images.  After stamping the flowers in Flirty Flamingo, I touched the heart-shaped buds on the stamp with my Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Write marker.  Then I pressed the stamp to the card again, to darken the Flirty Flamingo buds with the Lovely Lipstick ink.  Similarly, I stamped the leaves in Soft Sea Foam first and then added touches of Mossy Meadow with the same leaf stamp.

The front of this card is cut short to reveal the 1 1/4″ strip of designer paper from the All My Love collection.  The greetings are from “Healing Hugs”.

The Thick Whisper White measures 5 1/4″ x 7″, scored at 3″.  The Whisper White is the folding part of the card, and the 4″ x 5 1/4″ portion is mounted on a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Soft Sea Foam.

Thanks for checking out my card today!  If you need any of our awesome products, please click here to shop now, or use the carousel below to be directed to a product used on today’s card.

Quarter Fold Card

I made this simple Quarter Fold with the Happy Tails Bundle and paper from the Botanical Butterfly collection.  The flaps that make up the card front fold together like a box top.

This card follows the same construction as I showed in a Facebook Live a few weeks ago, but I have also made a YouTube video with directions that will be easier to reference.  I have attached the video below.

If you need any of our awesome products, please click here to shop now, or use the carousel below to be directed to a product used on today’s card.

Multicolor Ink Techniques

I presented several examples of multicolor ink techniques on last night’s Facebook Live.  Today, I have pictures of those projects and supplemental details.

This big greeting from “Amazing Life” looks awesome inked with a multicolor Spectrum pad.  I used Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay, Blueberry Bushel and Gorgeous Grape on my pad.  The stitched rectangles are 2 5/8″ x 4″ and 3″ x 4 3/8″.  The flowers were made with the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack.

I used the same pad to ink this smaller greeting too, using just the green sections of the pad.  The designer paper strip measures 2″ wide.

I used the blue and purple end of the same pad for this greeting from “Birthday Cheer”.  I also created a watercolor background in the same colors along the right side of the card.  I created that section with my acrylic block.  I applied ink to the “I” block with my Stampin’ Write markers, misted the block with water, and then pressed the block to Whisper White cardstock.

Here is the next example of a background created by misting an inked acrylic block.  These colors are Pineapple Punch, Mango Melody, and Flirty Flamingo and the stamps are from “Birthday Cheer”.

These colors are Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Flirty Flamingo and Lovely Lipstick, and the stamps are from “Amazing Life”.

This is my simplest example.  It is made on a note card with Soft Sea Foam and Pool Party with stamps from “Dandelion Wishes” and “Well Said”.

This background was also made with a misted acrylic block, but this time, I pressed the multicolor pad to the block instead of inking it with markers before misting.  I cut the background piece with the 2 5/8″ x 4″ rectangle stitched framelit after it was dry.  I also used the cupcake edgelit on a Whisper White stitched rectangle to layer over the background.

This post is meant as a supplement to last night’s Facebook Live.  Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions, or click here to see the video.

Thanks so much for checking out my projects!  If you need any of the products used, please click here for the online store. Place an order over $35 with this month’s Hostess Code and you will receive a package of Stampin’ Dimensionals, (3) 6″ squares of Adhesive Sheets, and a handmade card from me as a thank you!  Orders over $50 are also eligible for a free Sale-a-bration item and a Buckeye Point in my Loyalty Rewards Program. I appreciate your orders!
