Swirly Scribbles Flag

I made this card for a special Veteran who was recognized this weekend with an Honor Flight from Columbus to Washington DC.  He served in the Air Force during the Korean War.  Honor Flights celebrate the service of Veterans with trips to our nation’s Capitol to visit the war memorials.  Honor Flight Columbus is funded by donations and never charges a Vet.  You can read more about this organization here.

I love to use the long Swirly Scribbles die for stripes on a flag.  I don’t know who came up with this idea originally, but it was all over Pinterest when these dies first came out.  Here’s a little reminder of this fabulous use – in time for Memorial Day.  And what a great touch the metallic thread and enamel stars add here!

I have used some retired stamps for the star and the greeting, but you can easily modify those elements using what you have.  My greeting is from “One in a Million” and the star is from “Be the Star”.

Have a great Monday!
