Little Elephant Pocket Card

Since the panels are done in different colors, this card really looks like a wrap dress – or keeping with this theme, a receiving blanket wrap on a newborn.  In any case, this wrap creates a pocket card.

I am using “Little Elephant” with its coordinating builder punch.  This bundle is too cute!!

The Flirty Flamingo mat measures 4″ x 5″, and the Whisper White measures 3 3/4″ x 4 3/4″.

This is the card base.  I started with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Granny Apple Green, scored at 4 1/4″.  I cut away a diagonal section as shown.

The Pineapple Punch piece is 5 1/2″ x 4 3/4″, scored at 1/2″.  I cut away a diagonal section as shown.  I also trimmed at a diagonal on the 1/2″ flap, so that the flap does not show when the pocket card is removed.  I attached the flap to the Granny Apple Green piece as shown.

To make the pocket, I applied the adhesive ALONG THE BOTTOM ONLY of the inside of the Pineapple Punch piece.

The designer paper pieces are each triangles with sides 4″ x 5 1/4″.  Take care to notice the direction of the patterns and the direction of your diagonal cut when you create these pieces.  Attach them to the pieces that will be the front of the pocket before securing the final triangular section (Granny Apple Green) to the card front.

Once again, the designer paper patterns steal the show – they are so versatile.  I think everybody should have a pack of these patterns from their favortie color collection.
