Partial Die Cutting

Last night on Facebook Live, I made several cards using the technique of partial die cutting.  The partial circle is made by adjusting the top plate of the Big Shot to apply pressure over only a portion of the die.  After the partial die cut is made, straight cuts are added with a trimmer.  This post is meant as a supplement to last night’s live presentation – click here for full instructions.

The stamps are from “Healing Hugs”, and don’t you just love the great new In Color – Seaside Spray?  The Whisper White piece is attached to a piece of vellum that allows some transparency to the designer paper below.

This one uses a partially cut stitched rectangle at the lower edge.  The stamp set is “A Good Man”, from the upcoming 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.

Only the bottom of the lighthouse is die cut, and then diagonal lines were cut to the image.  The lighthouse is from the Sailing Home bundle that will be available June 4.

There is no die to match this flower from “Bloom by Bloom”, but you can achieve the same effect by “partial fussy-cutting”.  In this case, I cut the diagonals first, and then cut the lower edge of the flower with scissors.
