Specialty Backgrounds

I showed this collection of cards last night on Facebook Live. They each have a special touch in their backgrounds – either specialty acetate or vellum – to add a wow factor, without a lot of work.

This post is meant as a supplement to last night’s Facebook Live. Please click here to see the video – and please join the Buckeye Inklings Stampers Group on Facebook to get notifications of all of my live videos.

The first uses the designer paper, specialty acetate and stamp bundle from the Fine Floral Suite. The designer paper and acetate are each cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″, and I have used the silver side of the acetate. The decorative silver foil strip is from the edge of a die in the Ornate Layers collection.

This card uses a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of designer paper with just a circle of the acetate, cut with the largest of the Stitched Shapes circles. I have used the gold side of the acetate with a gold hoop.

This card uses one of the acetate patterns that matches the designer paper exactly. I simply added the acetate as an overlay to the beautiful paper – each is cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″.

Vellum is another great element for backgrounds. I made this card like the first acetate example – the two background layers each measure 3 3/4″ x 5″. The stamps and dies used here are from the Lots of Heart bundle – check out the fun stamps and dies in this bundle…

LOTS OF HEART BUNDLE (ENGLISH)

Vellum softens a bright color or a busy background. In this case, it mutes the background a bit so that the cut flowers don’t get lost. The beautiful designer paper is from the Flower & Field collection – one of our “Free with $50” choices during Sale-a-bration.

The designer paper measures 3 3/4″ x 5″, and the vellum measures 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″. The stamps and dies are from Pretty Perennials.
