Valentines

I started last night’s Facebook Live with this fun gift card holder. It looks like the gift card slides into a pocket created by the label shape, but that space would not be large enough – it actually slides down behind the designer paper.

This post is meant as a supplement to last night’s Facebook Live. I am presenting the pictures and dimensions are here for easy reference, but you may need to see the video for complete instructions. Please click here to see the video – and please join the Buckeye Inklings Stampers Group on Facebook to get notifications of all of my live videos.

Dimensions are as follows:

  • Blackberry Bliss 4 1/4″ x 9 3/4″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Designer Paper 4″ x 4″ and 1 1/4″ x 4″
  • Basic White 4″ x 5 1/4″

The designer paper is from the Oh So Ombre collection, one of the products you can choose for free with a $50 order during Sale-a-bration. The stamps and dies are from the Lots of Heart bundle, with the exception of the label shape, which is from the Tasteful Labels collection.

This card is made the same way, featuring a Darling Donkey colored with Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends. In this version, I hid the gift card on the inside…

This is a really small gift card, shaped like a conversation heart. To make sure it wouldn’t drop down into the space under the ombre designer paper, I added adhesive on the underside of the paper to limit the pocket depth. The adhesive is at about the same level as the bottom of the label shape.

The Darling Donkey stamp set is another of the products you can choose for free with a $50 order during Sale-a-bration.

The scalloped heart from the Many Hearts dies is a great size for this project. The heart on the front of my card is for decoration, and the one on the inside hides the slot for the gift card.

These are just a few ideas. I am sure you can come up with many shapes to use as a faux pocket. You can also make this card in portrait orientation.

I also want to share this great idea to make “strawberries” out of Dove chocolate hearts. I got this idea from Barb Thomas on my team. She made an adorable decorated cardstock box of strawberries for one of our team challenges.

Our Sweet Strawberry bundle is a punch bundle that you can use to make the stems. They are stamped with Garden Green ink on Granny Apple Green cardstock, punched, and added to each chocolate with a glue dot. So cute!!

I made a very simple berry crate. I used two pieces of Early Espresso cardstock, 2″ x 4 3/4″ and 2 1/4″ x 4 3/4″, each scored at 1 1/4″ and 3 1/2″. The score lines create the 1 1/4″ high sides of the crate, and the middle of each strip is part of the crate bottom. The bottoms are simply glued together, and then the sides are banded by a 1/2″ x 12″ strip of designer paper from the In Good Taste collection.

The crate is packaged in one of our 3″ x 9″ cello bags. The tag is made from stamps in our Sale-a-bration host set, Punch Party. If you have a few friends who would like to place their orders as a group, please contact me to set this up – a group order of $300 earns this set for the Host!

I also showed this strawberry version of the ever-popular wrapped Hershey Nugget tray. The strawberries are so cute lined up this way! We no longer carry the 2″ cello bags for this project, but maybe you have some in your stash. The tray measures 5″ long x 2 1/4″ wide, scored at 1/2″ and 1 3/4″.

I made these strawberry projects for Valentine’s Day, but I think they will be super-cute for strawberry season as well, with summery colors and tags. We may need to think ahead to get our Dove chocolate hearts now – and try to save them for June 🙂

Thank you for checking out my projects, and thanks for any support you can give me in likes, follows, and shares on my social media.

If you need any of our fabulous products, please click here for the online store, or use the carousel below to go directly to a product used today. (I am excluding cardstock and ink from the carousel today due to the number and variety of projects.)

Place a $35 order with Host Code GND4MG2C in January, and I will send you a package of Opal Rounds and a handmade card. This is my way of sharing the Stampin’ Rewards with you – I appreciate your business!!
