Just Two Days Left – Paper Pumpkin Sale

Sale-a-bration runs for only two more days.  The 3-month Paper Pumpkin subscription is on sale through the end of Sale-a-bration for $55*, and this purchase qualifies you to receive a FREE Sale-a-bration item.

* Subscription prices include shipping.

If you join Paper Pumpkin by April 10, you will receive the April kit which will include a Bonus stamp set, included as a celebration of Paper Pumpkin’s 3rd Anniversary and One Millionth kit.

Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription to a papercraft project.  It is an all-inclusive kit that comes in the mail.  This is great for new stampers, but also good for the experienced stamper because it delivers exclusive products and stamps.  And everyone loves to have project that is planned for them!

Here is a look at the March kit:

If you don’t like the projects suggested by the kit, there are forums for alternate project ideas.  I loved this month’s gift card holders, but didn’t want to make the cards as shown, so I found a cute box alternative and filled it with 3″x3″ notes and chocolate.

DSC_1960w

I made two of these gift sets in addition to the Crumb Cake gift card holders, using a minimum of basic supplies.

DSC_1962w

I used a few of my own punches, some Thick Whisper White and Cucumber Crush Cardstock, and mini envelopes.

DSC_1958w

By the way, I learned how to make this super-clever little box from an envelope provided in the kit on Lisa Curcio’s site.  Click here to check that out.

If you have decided that you would like to try Paper Pumpkin, I encourage you to buy a prepaid subscription.  Dollars spent on the prepaid subscription count toward Sale-a-bration freebies (for only two more days!) and Hostess Benefits.  The sale is for new or existing customers, and it can be given as a gift.

If you know you would like to receive Paper Pumpkin regularly, there are options for longer subscriptions.  To maximize the benefits you can receive with Paper Pumpkin, you may also want to consider the 12-month subscription.  The 12-month subscription costs $215.40*.  If you add $35 in product to this purchase, you qualify for 5 Sale-a-bration products AND $50 in Hostess Beneftis (your choice of any products).

Please contact me if you have questions on any of this.  Click on any of the links below to be directed to the online store to purchase the prepaid subscription.  Note that the carousel shows the regular price for the 3-month subscription, but during Sale-a-bration, the price is $55.

Teapot Birthday

DSC_1956w

I cut 1/4″ off a standard card front so that I could use the designer paper from Birthday Bouquet more efficiently to cover the entire card front.  The designer paper measures 4″ x 5 1/2″.  I made pennants with framelits, using another pattern from Birthday Bouquet along with Watermelon Wonder cardstock.  The stamped image on the teapot is from “Garden in Bloom” and the greeting is from “Birthday Blossoms”.

DSC_1955w

When closed, the Mint Macaron Washi Tape placed on the inside edge of the card shows.  The Washi Tape is from the Botanical Gardens collection.

Have a great Monday!  Don’t forget that Sale-a-bration ends March 31, so just a few days left to earn any of the great freebies that are available with each $50 order.

If you have a large order, or can combine with friends, there are extra Hostess Benefits available with a $250 order.  Joining is also a great option if you have a big wish list – you will recieve $155 in the product of your choice for $99 (shipping included!)  Please contact me if you have any questions or would like help with your purchase.

Teapot Pop-up Slider Card

ANiceCuppa

This was one of our club projects this month.  It is an interactive card with a cute hidden greeting.

ANiceCuppa2

This is a CASE of a card I saw on Pinterest by Catherine Carroll.  Mine uses Birthday Bouquet designer series paper along with the “A Nice Cuppa” bundle.  The directions are in the video below.  It’s a nice coincidence that the Curvy Corner Trio Punch that I used on the pull piece is on sale this week (through Monday) for $15.

Have a wonderful weekend, and Happy Easter!

A Tropical Greeting

CCMC399

It’s still gray (and brown!) in Ohio, but the calendar says it is spring.  It can’t be long until we brighten up.  In the meantime, I used this week’s sketch with some bright flowers to chase away the gray.

DSC_1953w

Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight…don’t they just make you smile?

The stamped leaves and greeting are from “Remarkable You”, and the flowers are cut with the Botanical Builder Framelits.  I layered a piece of Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum over the Bermuda Bay cardstock.  This vellum collection is one of the items you can choose to receive for free with a $50 order through the end of March.

Please visit Create with Connie and Mary to see all of the cards created by my talented teammates, as well as the entries in this challenge as they come in.  Hope you’ll be inspired to play along!

“Wedding Dreams” Blog Hop

GV Blog Header

Welcome to the Grand Vacation Achievers hop for March. This month’s theme – “Wedding Dreams”.

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog (Chris Slogar) or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

rosewonderwedding1

English Garden designer paper is perfect for a wedding – no other images needed!  I used the beautiful rose pattern with the stamped frame and greeting from “Rose Wonder”.  I brushed over the flowers and leaves with clear Wink of Stella to add sparkle.

rosewonderwedding2

I used iridescent glitter tape on the inside, along with a 1/4″ strip of the designer paper.  You can see that the stamp set “Rose Wonder” also has a beautiful verse for the inside of the card.

Thanks for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many great projects here!  Remember that currently you are at my blog – Chris Slogar – so check the blog hop line up list to see who is next, and enjoy!

Bright Easter Greetings

DSC_1933w

Cucumber Crush is a beautiful spring green.  The yellows here are a mix of Crushed Curry (ink and twine) and Daffodil Delight (cotton ribbon).  The vibrant stamped leaves and flowers show through the vellum panels that carry the Easter greeting from “Suite Sayings”.

I got this idea from Artisan Marisa Gunn’s project that used the same color scheme and greeting on a vellum bag.  You can see that project here.

I’ll be back later today with a project for the Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop, which posts at 5pm EST.

If you need supplies for your projects, please shop in my online store to support Buckeye Inklings.  You can click here to be directed to the store, or click an image below to take you directly to a certain product.  I would appreciate it – thanks for stopping by!

Oval Framelit Basket Favor

DSC_1937w

You don’t need to order anything special to make this Easter basket favor.  It is made from one of our most basic framelit collections – the ovals.

DSC_1951w

It’s 3D, but open at the sides, so it doesn’t hold small candy.  I am using it for a Hershey Marshmallow Egg and a gift card holder.

DSC_1938w

You could use this as a place card on your table, with a name on each pick (Handpicked Framelits).  The series of pictures below shows how to make the basket.

DSC_1939w

Start with a 4 1/2″ x 11″ piece of cardstock, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded in half.  Place the folded piece under the largest oval framelit (the scalloped oval) so that the folded end is not completely cut off.  I place the framelit so that 5 scallops extend beyond the fold.

DSC_1940w

After the scalloped oval is cut, cut the top half of the next-largest oval shape to create the handle.  To do this, place the oval framelit as shown, and place the top acrylic plate so that it only covers the top half (approximately) of the basket.  When run through the Big Shot, only the portion of the framelit under the acrylic plate will be cut.

DSC_1941w

Take the cut shape to your Stampin’ Trimmer and place the fold at 2 1/2″.  Use the cutting blade to cut out the handle opening.  Chances are, you will not be able to get through both layers at once, so simply turn the piece over and do the same thing on the back.  This edge doesn’t have to be neat – it will be covered with a band.

DSC_1942w

Now to the scoring board…open up the folded piece and make score lines on either side of the original score line, 5/8″ away.  (Ignore the marker at 11″ – it was left there from a different project!)

DSC_1943w

These scores create the basket bottom.

DSC_1944w

The band piece is 3/4″ x 11″, scored at 4″, 4 7/8″, 9 1/4″, and 10 1/8″.  I attach the longest length to the basket first, using Tombow glue.

DSC_1945w

Simply lay the basket piece down on this band piece with the top edge of the band slightly above the cut edge on the basket piece.

DSC_1946w

Add glue to the portions of the band that will attach to the front of the basket.  I like to use the liquid glue because it allows some time to slide the pieces if necessary as you create the basket shape.

DSC_1938w

I decorated the band with a 1/2″ strip of designer paper from the Birthday Bouquet collection.  The bow is created with the Bow Builder punch; the daffodil is from Petite Petals punch and the Tree Builder punch.  The leaves are from the Bird Builder punch and the pick is cut with one of the Handpicked Framelits.

Thanks for checking out my Easter basket project.  This was one of the projects we made in stamp club this weekend.  There is room in our Sunday evening club if you are local and would like to join us – contact me for details.  Have a great Monday!

Seed Packet Cards, Revisited

Berry Basket

This is one of my favorite projects from last year, made with this year’s papers.  The basket is cut from a 3 1/2″ square of Tip Top Taupe Color Me Irresistible designer paper, placed over just a portion of the Berry Basket Bigz L Die to create one side and a portion of the bottom.  The bottom is folded around the bottom of the seed packet and attached to the card.  The basket paper is already embossed with the woodgrain pattern.  The Old Olive background paper is from the Wildflower Fields designer paper collection.

DSC_0821w

Here’s a view of the versions I made last year – note that the Crumb Cake basket is stamped.  I am happy to skip that step this year thanks to the Color Me Irresistible paper.  This card is CASEd from Cindy Schuster’s project.

Place an online order of $35 or more (before s/h and tax) using the current Hostess Code (see details at top of right column under Featured Project), and I will send you one of these cards.  Please make sure to allow Demonstrator Contact or send an email with your address so that I can mail this to you.  Featured projects change periodically, make sure to check the details at the top of the right column for the current deal.
