Bewitching She Shed

Last night’s Facebook Live project was this Double Door Pop-Up card. I have seen this all over the internet in various forms – it can be a shed, a garage, or any other structure. My next version will be a gingerbread house. This one started as a Haunted House, but I ended up turning it into a She Shed for a witch.

When the roof of the shed is lifted, the doors also open.

I used a folded panel of our beautiful Celebrate Everything designer paper and a witch in my shed – you can hide anything you like behind those doors! It’s a really fun card to decorate – and as you can see in the video, it’s not hard to create the hinges.

Christmas Barn and Pops of Color

Last night’s Facebook Live was a mix of cards, starting with this CASE of my teammate Carol Rulli’s beautiful swap card! I am presenting pictures and details here as a quick reference, but you may need to see the video for full details. The Christmas Barn bundle is perfect for a detailed scene like this. I loved Carol’s designer paper choice (from Boughs of Holly) and layout, and I essentially duplicated her card.

While I love a detailed card, I also need some options that are not so labor-intensive, so I created a couple of monochromatic Christmas Barn cards.

The first uses Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, and Merry Merlot, along with the Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder. I also used a greeting from Wildlife Wonder and a leaf from the Aspen Tree Dies.

I added a pop of color with the wreath on this option. The scene is stamped in Gray Granite. There are six Shimmer White snowflakes on this card – fabulous embellishments that you can create with the dies in this bundle! The dies allow you to cut nine snowflakes at a time – and this picture does not do them justice! They are so pretty and delicate!

Moving on, I wanted to show some other fun cards with a pop of color. I was inspired by this fun card made by my teammate Debbie D’Aurelio…

Isn’t this the cutest?! It uses Gingham Cottage designer paper, the Hippo bundle from Sale-a-bration, and Polished Pink pops of color. Love it!!

This one uses perhaps my favorite combination – black & white (again with Gingham Cottage designer paper) with a pop of Real Red. We have so many black & white paper choices right now – including the collection that is called Black & White, Rustic Harvest and Celebrate Everything.

And the final one is my CASE of Debbie’s card, but with a pop of Mango Melody and the Bewitching Bundle. The cardstock around the scalloped shape die measures 2 9/16″ x 3 13/16″ and the Basic White measures 2″ x 3 3/8″. These are super-fun to make, and really you could use any monochromatic paper with a pop of color!

Christmas Scottie

I featured the Christmas Scottie bundle last night on Facebook Live, along with the fabulous Gingham Cottage designer paper collection.

My first project is a pretty simple card that takes advantage of the beautiful Snowflake Specialty Vellum as a backdrop for our cute Scottie. I have also used the Alphabest bundle to create my own greeting. Love, love, love making my own words to use on cards!

The only dimensions of note here are the Basic White mat at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and the designer paper at 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″. The circle is the largest of the Stylish Shapes circles.

The favor is one that I will be making in quantity for craft shows – so you know it has to be pretty simple!

It is a gusseted pouch that I have sized to hold tea and cookies. I got the Walkers shortbread at World Market and will swap out the tea for a Christmas tea when those are available.

The designer paper measures 4″ x 7 1/2″, scored at 2″ and 5 1/2″ and at 3/8″ along the bottom edge. The gusset is a total of 1/2″ wide, so I scored at 1/4″ from each edge after the pouch was folded – please refer to the video for tips and tricks to make this cute little pouch. This is a hard one to describe in words – but very easy to make!!

All of the patterns in the Gingham Cottage designer paper collection are so cute! It’s a big pack, but I know I will use every sheet.

There’s even a black and orange pattern for Halloween. I used the Bewitching bundle to decorate this one. So many different Halloween treats will fit in this – and you can modify the depth of the pouch and dimensions very easily.

An Efficient Pair

My upline Mindy Gray showed us these layouts at a team event this week – the card on the left is a fun fold, and the card on the right uses the cut section from it to create a focal point.

I presented these cards on Facebook Live on Tuesday night, and I apologize for the technical issues. Click here for the video – it’s a bit rough, but it does illustrate the steps to construct these cards.

There is a window in the front panel of the fun fold, and it opens to reveal another piece that pulls open to the right.

Dimensions are as follows:

Pool Party 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
Petal Pink 5 1/4″ x 8″, scored at 4″ and 6″
Basic White 3 3/4″ x 5″

Both layers of rectangle are cut from the front panel at the same time – adhere the designer paper to the front of the card with adhesive around the perimeter only, and then you will be able to separate the window pieces. The Pool Party rectangle is used on the fun fold, and the designer paper is used on the basic card.

Here is a better look at the second card. The Pool Party mat is embossed with the Seashells 3D embossing folder, which is one of the items that has been added to our Sale-a-bration offerings. You can choose this folder for FREE with a $50 order.

Here’s a look at the cards Mindy designed for our team make-n-take. They follow the same layout and also use the Texture Chic designer paper, but with the Nature’s Harvest bundle. Love these!

Bewitching and Best Witches

The Halloween witch sets in the current mini are both super-cute! I used them to make the fun folds I presented last night on Facebook Live. The designer paper is from the Celebrate Everything collection, which is available to purchase with Stampin’ Rewards.

The tag card uses the Very Best Trio punch to create the tag-shaped corners on the cardstock and designer paper. My friend Debbie taught me this fun fold before the punch was released, and we cut the corners with scissors and a template at that time. The punch makes this card even easier!

Dimensions are as follows:

Highland Heather 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 4″, 6 3/4″
Designer Paper 4″ x 3 3/4″ and 4″ x 4″ – note that the shorter piece is the piece that gets punched, so plan your directional paper accordingly and take care to punch the correct corners
Basic White 4″ x 2 1/2″

As I mentioned in the Live presentation, I have been making this card in many themes! Here is one from my most recent class using the Sweet Gingerbread bundle and Santa Express designer paper.

This version uses the Sweetest Cherries bundle from the Annual Catalog along with the Celebrate Everything designer paper.

The card on the right is a fun fold that my upline Mindy Gray taught in our team meeting this week. It is another great fun fold for any theme!

Sweetest Christmas Suite

The designer paper that makes up most of the card base creates two pockets on the inside. One is large enough for a note card or even a hot cocoa pack, and the other creates a cute pocket for small tags.

The Real Red cardstock measures 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″, and the designer paper measures 5 1/4″ x 12″, scored at 4″ and 8″.

The gift card holder and favor each start from a 6″ square of designer paper. Please refer to the Facebook Live for complete instructions to create these.

Two Great Things from the Mini

These are my Facebook Live projects from last night – the two great things are the Snowflake Specialty Vellum and the Snowman Magic Bundle. I can’t get enough of either of them!

The card and gift card holder each use the vellum sheets that are printed with iridescent foil. There are three different prints, and the package includes each print in iridescent foil and white flocking, for a total of six 12″ x 12″ sheets.

SNOWFLAKE 12 X 12 (30.5 X 30.5 CM) SPECIALTY VELLUM

The die set in the Snowman Magic bundle includes this great frame, which I simply cut into a 4″ x 5 1/4″ mat of Coastal Cabana cardstock. The hill is cut from a 3 7/8″ wide piece of Basic White, cut at the top with one of the Basic Borders dies. This edge could easily be hand cut. The vellum measures 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″, and both are attached behind the Coastal Cabana frame.

The sentiments and stamps in this bundle are so cute! See the full set below.

The gift card holder is very similar to a gift card holder that I have been making for years (click here for a designer paper version) – the difference here is that I added a cardstock liner behind the gift card, and I used a longer length of vellum so that I could double up the thickness of the vellum at the flap.

Dimensions are as follows…

Vellum 4″ x 12″, scored at 3″, 6″, 9 1/8″
Coastal Cabana 3″ x 3 7/8″ and 2 7/8″ x 3 7/8″
Basic White 2 7/8″ x 3 3/4″

The pocket section is the 3″ width, and the 2 7/8″ width is the flap section (which gets folded back to create a flap that is approximately 1 3/8″).

WARNING!! — If you have a directional print, plan the score lines accordingly. You could actually score at 3″, 6″, and 9″ to make it easier, but I like the extra 1/8″ in the greeting section so that the fold at the flap can easily wrap around the bulk of the card.

And last, but not least…this cute little favor which is a remake of a Hershey Nugget project from years ago! The Nuggets are wrapped with 1″ x 3″ pieces of Basic White, stamped and decorated as desired with snowman faces and accessories. The tray that holds the Nuggets is 2 1/2″ tall x 3″, scored at 1/2″ and 2 1/2″.

Shopping Bag Card

I showed how to make this card last night on Facebook Live. It uses our beautiful Sweet Gingerbread Bundle and the Santa Express designer paper. I am showing how to score and trim the shopping bag piece below, using a piece of designer paper from last year (which is lighter and allows an easier view of the markings).

These pictures show the outside (top photo) and inside (bottom photo) of the bag piece when just ready for assembly. Note the locations of the Tear-n-Tape.
