Designer Paper Projects

I showed several designer paper projects on facebook live last night, including these two favors.  They are favorites of mine, each made from a 6″ square of designer paper, and each very easy to make.  The video below shows how to make both.

We also made some fun designer paper cards using the Share What You Love designer paper.

This new specialty paper is even thicker than our typical designer paper, and these cards use it as the card front.

The card bases (So Saffron and Tranquil Tide) measure 5 1/2″ x 5 1/4″, scored at 4 1/4″.  The 4″ x 5 1/2″ designer paper pieces are attached to the 1″ fold to create the card front.  The embossed cardstock strip on the card fronts measures 1/2″ x 5 1/2″.

I also showed off my favorite designer paper project – Treat Bag Thinlits (no surprise there, right!?) . The Treat Bag Thinlits are retiring, and only available while supplies last.

I made these with the Tutti Frutti designer paper.  The strawberry version has a pull-out note card (Real Red 3 1/4″ x 5″ and Whisper White 3″ x 4 3/4″).  The lemon version has an insert with a pocket (Whisper White 3 1/4″ x 6 1/2″, scored at 1 1/2″).  The lemon version is a CASE of a project done last summer in a team meeting with Terri Meehan.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Time is getting short on the Retiring Products – click here if you would like to shop now.  Spend $35 with Hostess Code BVFEENA2 and I will send you a sample of our beautiful new Share What You Love Specialty Designer Paper and two Pearlized Doilies.

Share What You Love Blog Hop

Welcome to the Alaska Achievers Blog Hop for May!  You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog (Chris Slogar) or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the projects.

This month we are highlighting projects made with the Share What You Love Suite from the upcoming 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.  I intended to make one card for this blog hop, but in no time, I had three.  Why was this so easy?  It’s because I relied on the gorgeous specialty designer paper!

I love how the colors pop on the crisp white print.  You could use the print with any of the colors, or stick with white…

It really doesn’t get much easier than this one!  I embossed the stitched oval after stamping the greeting, and mounted it on a scalloped Whisper White oval.

This one is just a fun mix of patterns and colors.  The flowers on the So Saffron strip of designer paper have a pearl coating over them, and the doily is also pearlized.

This is a really simple fun fold.  The card base is two pieces of Rich Razzleberry, 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and 2 3/4″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″.  Those pieces are put together first.

On the inside, I have added a 3″ x 4″ piece of designer paper, which overlaps the top of the folded base piece.  I have also added a 2″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White.  The designer paper piece on the front of the folded base piece measures 2 1/2″ x 4″.  This is very similar to a card I posted previously (shown below).

This one uses the same card base dimensions, but it is made in the opposite orientation.  Click here for more details on this card.

We are showcasing these particular products from the upcoming 2018-2019 Annual Catalog because they are available to customers now in special release bundles as shown below.  Note that the new In Color ink pads are also available to customers now.

Mini Treat Bag Thinlits

Of all of the tools that are retiring, the one that I use most is the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.  These dies are such a staple for me that I thought it was a mistake when I saw them on the Retiring List.

This is the latest group of pocket cards I made with these dies.  I used the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Paper here, but I am sure I have made these bags with every designer paper collection that we have offered!

The pull-out card has a folded up section at the bottom to create a pocket for a gift card.  These Mini Treat Bags fit in a Medium Envelope for mailing, and the set of dies comes with some great accessory pieces.

See the full lists of Retiring Products below, and shop now for best selection.  Tools and accessories are available while supplies last, and stamps will be produced through May 25.

Garden Impressions Suite

These are the three fun fold cards I made on facebook live last night.  They use the Garden Impressions Suite, which includes the Abstract Impressions stamp set, Springtime Impressions thinlits and Garden Impressions designer series paper.  These items will be available from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog starting June 1.

Despite the “sneak peek” nature of these projects, these are cards you can easily make with products you have on hand.  Simply pick a pretty designer paper from your stash and use coordinating cardstock.

The first is a double-z fold.  The dimensions are as follows:

Soft Seafoam 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″

Blueberry Bushel 1 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″

Designer Paper 4 ” x 5 1/4″ and 1 7/8″ x 5 1/4″

Whisper White 4″ x 5 1/4″ (optional for back of card)

The flowers and greeting are stamped on Whisper White cut with the largest stitched square framelit.  The stamped piece is mounted on a Blueberry Bushel scalloped square.

So Saffron 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″

Designer Paper 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″

Cut a notch in the designer paper on the right side to create the collar fold.  Place the top edge of the designer paper at 2 3/4″, and use the trimming blade to cut from 0″ to 1 3/4″.

The greeting is stamped on a Whisper White piece cut with the second-largest stitched circle.  The stamped piece is mounted on a Soft Seafoam scalloped circle and a Blueberry Bushel circle.

This ia a CASE of my upline Mindy Gray’s card (shown below).  The dimensions are as follows:

Powder Pink 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″

Shaded Spruce 5 1/4″ x 6 3/4″, scored at 4″

Whisper White 3 3/4″ x 5″

Designer Paper 2 1/2″ x 5″

The greeting is stamped on a Whisper White piece cut with the largest stitched oval and mounted on a Shaded Spruce scalloped oval.

If you need more instructions on the construction of any of these cards, please check out my facebook live video from last night (May 9), and please “like” my facebook page while you are there!

Here is Mindy’s card…

This one uses Petal Pink and Early Espresso with the gorgeous Share What You Love designer series paper.  This flowers on this pattern are covered with a pearlized coating, and the stamps are from “Share What You Love”.  Many of the items used on Mindy’s card are available to customers now in special preorder bundles.  Click here for more details on the available bundles from this suite.

Eclipse WOW

I made a bunch of these eclipse cards to go with my team rewards this month, but I also think they would be so appropriate for a grad.  They are adaptable to any colors and papers.  I used a print from the Painted With Love collection and added Melon Mambo Sequins and Basic Rhinestones.  The stamp on the Powder Pink cardstock strip is from the retired set “Bravo”.

At $99, the Large Letter Framelits that I used here are an investment, but they are so useful.  Did you know that you could get them in a Starter Kit along with an additional $26 of product for $99 + tax (shipping is included)?  Or maybe tell your loved ones about them for an upcoming birthday or Mother’s Day gift idea 🙂

Please don’t hesitate to contact me at stampyourworld@gmail.com if you have any questions about purchasing a Starter Kit – I always like to suggest it as a way to get more for your money when considering a big ticket item or a big wish list. I would love to set up a call to discuss this with you.  As an added bonus, if you join in May, you can preorder from the upcoming 2018-2019 Annual Catalog at a discount.  All orders placed as a Demo are at least 20% off.

Have a great weekend!
