Blossoming Basket

I normally don’t embrace coloring…or fussy-cutting.  However, I was determined to CASE a card, and I had some extra time – so I did both.  It was a pleasant reminder of how relaxing it is to color, and the fussy-cutting did not take long at all.

Of course, the right tools always help – Stampin’ Blends provide the crisp color here.  For the flowers, I used the Calypso Coral shades on the Rich Razzleberry card, and I used the Daffodil Delight shades on the Pumpkin Pie card.  The cute stitched edge to the left of the textured piece is provided by our Stitched-Edge Ribbon, available in four colors including Razzleberry and Pumpkin.

Stampin’ Up! has new Sale-a-bration options coming out next week (available February 16).  The stamps and the embossing folder I used on these cards are from the new choices.

See the Daffodil Delight card on the “Blossoming Basket” page?  That’s the card I was CASE-ing.  Fussy-cutting the basket allows more of the basket-weave texture to show through.  Definitely worth it!

Hold on to Hope Class To Go

My February Class To Go uses the “Hold on to Hope” bundle from the 2018 Occasions Catalog.  This stamps and framelits in this bundle are great for encouragement as well as celebrating faith.  It is also an excellent bundle for Easter.

You’ll make six cards with the bundle, and I have a new option for purchasing – you can purchase the bundle within your own order at my online store, and I will send you the class materials separately.  This allows you to shop for other items that you may need, and you can choose any Sale-a-bration item, when applicable.

Simply place your order by February 16, and email me at buckeyeinklingsorders@gmail.com to let me know that you want the class.  If your order is under $150, please use Hostess Code EMY2BK6A – over $150, please take your own Stampin’ Rewards.  Either way, I will cover the shipping cost to get the card materials to you!

(Please note that orders placed under other group or club codes are not eligible for Class To Go materials, as those benefits are used elsewhere.)

-OR-

You can also order this class by my traditional method – email me at buckeyeinklingsorders@gmail.com for a Paypal invoice, and specify Wood or Clear Mount and your choice of SAB stamp sets.

The Paypal invoice is based on the retail price of the bundle with tax and shipping for me to receive the materials.  I have also added a $7.00 priority mail cost for shipping to you once I have added the class materials.  There is no additional cost for the card materials and instructions.

Hold on to Hope Class To Go (Wood Mount)     $66.00

Hold on to Hope Class To Go (Clear Mount)     $57.00

Here’s what’s included:

Hold on to Hope Stamp Set

Sweet Soiree

Today, I want to showcase the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Paper and Embellishment Kit.  I can’t emphasize enough how these items can make your cards extra-special…without extra work!!

The first card is an exact CASE of a card my upline Mindy Gray sent to me – I love how it relies on the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Paper.  The cake itself is fussy-cut from one of the sheets in the pack, and the Silver Foil pedestal is the only element brought in from the bundle.

These also use fussy-cut cakes, and I have added in a precut vellum image from the Embellishment Kit on each card.  The Flirty Flamingo tag is cut with one of the framelits from the bundle.

This is a CASE of a card in our 2018 Occasions Catalog.  It uses elements from the Embellishment Kit primarily, with just a little stamping.

These cakes are also from the Embellishment Kit, as are the numbers, vellum cutouts and flower.  I have added a Silver Foil pedestal and Old Olive leaves cut with thinlits in the bundle.  Again, though, you can see that the designer paper and kit elements are the focal point.

Narrow Note Card Shopping Totes

These gift card holders look like little shopping bags.  There are two pockets inside, and I am using one for a note card and one for a gift card.

Here’s a closer view of the accordion-style pocket, made from one Narrow Note Card envelope.

The note card itself is cut down to better match the height of a gift card.  I simply cut off one inch of the note card’s length.  (If you wanted to use the full height of the note card, you could – you would have to add to the length of the Powder Pink cardstock accordingly, and your tote would be taller.)

Make sure to scroll past the instructional video to see two more examples – this project is very adaptable to other papers and themes.  If you are receiving this post in your email, click here for the video.

I used the Picture Perfect Party Suite here – with a 1″ strip of designer paper and a 1/4″ strip of Lemon Lime Twist along the bottom of the bag.  I used a 1/2″ strip of coordinating paper on the note card.

This one uses the Tutti Frutti Suite.  Again, I have a 1″ strip of designer paper on the bottom of the bag and a 1/2″ strip on the card.  The pear on the card is popped up on circles – 1 1/4″ Real Red, 1 1/8″ Lemon Lime Twist (scalloped) and 1″ Crumb Cake.

Waterfront

The two stamp sets I have used on today’s card are my top picks from the 2018 Occasions Catalog.  They can cover a full range of occasions for men and women, young and not-as-young .  Both sets include two-step stamps, and that takes the fun factor up a notch.  Here’s the best part…they are only $17 each!

“Waterfront” is a set of 16 stamps that you can use to create beautiful scenery.  If you like to actually stamp a lot in your stamping projects, this is for you!

Don’t let the name fool you on this one.  “Picture Perfect Birthday” is not just for birthdays.  The party blowers, confetti and greetings are great for many occasions, and the designer paper that goes with this set is fabulous, too.

A Little Wild

Here’s another of our Card Buffet cards from this week’s class.  It can easily be made in pink or blue – I used Soft Sky.  I was so happy to break out a bundle I got quite a while ago.  It is called “A Little Wild”, and you can see how cute it is.  In addition to the bear, it includes a lion and an elephant.

I will be back with a post later today to announce the winner of my Blog Candy drawing.  You can enter by commenting on last Friday’s post – click here for full details.  Comments must be entered on that post by noon EST to count as an entry.  I do have a class into the afternoon today, so I will draw a winner after class, in the late afternoon.

My Favorite Fruit

The strawberry from “Fruit Basket” is my favorite fruit in the bundle, but they are all so cute – and all so easy to create, thanks to the Itty Bitty Punches!  You can see the full stamp set below.  The Itty Bitty Fruit Punch Pack includes punches for the strawberry, pineapple, pear and watermelon.

This is a card we are making in Card Buffet this week.  I used a 3″ strip of designer paper from the Bubbles & Fizz collection as a backdrop for my tag.  The Bubbles &Fizz collection is one of the products you can choose for free with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration.

I would love to have your business in the online store if you need any of these fabulous products.  I am also giving away a share of our new designer papers this week – click here for details.

Beautiful Peacock

It’s so easy to make a great card with “Beautiful Peacock”, one of the stamp sets you can choose for free with a purchase of $50 during Sale-a-bration.  I simply popped the peacock up on a few circles – I can’t say enough about how useful our layering framelits are!  You can get them in circles, ovals and squares.

Sweet Soiree Suite

Here’s another example of a card inspired by the paper.  I used a 3″ square of Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Paper with a few stamps and framelits from the suite.  The Berry Burst Metallic-Edge Ribbon is the perfect finishing touch.
