Terrific Tags Throwback

This is one of my earliest handmade cards. I made it in a class in Columbus, Ohio sometime around 2005. The stamp set “Terrific Tags” came in a cool blue tin with a tag punch. The punch was later available in two sizes.

I made a similar card with mini envelopes cut with this year’s Love Notes Framelits collection. The stamps, framelits, designer paper and ribbon used here are all from the Sending Love Suite in the Occasions Catalog. These products deliver so many options for Valentine’s Day and beyond.

Tasty Trucks

“Tasty Trucks” is one of the stamp sets you can choose for free with a $50 order during Sale-a-bration. I think it is the most fun of the free choices – it has fun greetings and accessories; it is fun to color; and food trucks are fun!

I used a 2″ strip of Festive Birthday designer paper as my color inspiration. I stamped the food truck on Shimmery White cardstock, and I colored with our new Watercolor Pencils, blending with our Blender Pens.

The flags on the truck didn’t quite fit within the oval framelit I wanted to use, so I snipped around them and popped them up above the framelit before cutting. The picture below shows this.

This is what it looked like after a pass through the Big Shot. I simply finished fussy-cutting the flags after creating the oval.

Here’s a peek at the mess under the focal point. I laid down a ribbon “z” and locked it down with sticky strip. The metallic ribbon is another of the products you can choose for free with a $50 order, and it is awesome! It comes in a two-pack, gold and silver, 7 yards of each. I placed dimensionals and looped metallic thread all around it.

Lift Me Up Window Sheet Card

I hope you can see that the front of this card is clear, and the balloons appear to be floating above the Carried Away designer series paper. I CASEd my upline, Mindy Gray, who sent me a card exactly like this. It is really eye-catching and clever!

I created a video to show how I created the Gingerbread version, and this balloon card is made in much the same way. Special Reason CASE

This was one of the projects at our Buckeye Inklings team meeting this weekend. It uses “Special Reason” and a thinlit from the coordinating Stylish Stems collection.

The designer paper measures 3 1/4″ square, and the Thick Whisper White overlay measures 2 3/4″ x 4″. The overlay piece is cut with just the inside detail for the flower – there is also a framelit that would cut an outline around this lacy detail.

This is the card by Dawn Thomas that I CASEd for my project. I got Dawn’s card in a recent swap. This card is easy to create, but doesn’t it look spectacular?!

The overlay piece on Dawn’s card is slightly shorter and wider than I made mine, but otherwise, I followed this fabulous design exactly. I only change the color scheme and embossing folder. I hope you are imagining how many papers would look great in this layout.

Foxy Friends Valentine

Our little “Foxy Friends” fox, jabbering in hearts, is perfect for Valentine’s Day. I used greetings and stamps from from “Sealed with Love” and a 1 1/2″ strip of our Valentine’s paper to make this a Valentine, but it could be made to suit many occasions.

Hey, Chick

As a child, I was lucky to spend a lot of time at my grandparents’ farm, where the chickens clucked around right outside the doors of the big farmhouse. We loved to feed them, chase them, gather eggs, and oh my goodness, when there were peeps in the peep shanty…that was the best!

The picture above shows me and my brother Mitch with my grandfather, and below…

…one of the most magical times! This is the doorway of the peep shanty, and eggs had hatched recently. Oh my gosh, the chicks were always so cute!! (And yes, that’s me – see the chick in my hand? I could spend hours playing with the chicks.)

Here’s another shot of me with my grandfather. He was a coal miner through the week, and he also ran a 44 acre farm along the Ohio River. We are feeding the chickens field corn that was grown on the farm.

I couldn’t find a close-up of me with my grandmother, but I love this picture of her with my cousin Kathy. She was such a hard-working woman, and always smiling!

Avant Garden Note Cards

“Avant Garden” is one of the sets you can choose for free with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration. I used it here on a Whisper White notecard and envelope to make a very simple thank you. I simply stamped the flowers and leaves on a square cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. These framelits will be available again on January 16 – yay! I used the square that is just over 2″.

The colors are Daffodil Delight, Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry and Mint Macaron.

Heart Eyes Emoji

It would take many words to express the feeling this emoji communicates so effortlessly. “I Love You So Much”, as indicated in the greeting, doesn’t even cover it. This smiling yellow face is absolutely wild about whatever it is looking at!

It’s super-easy to make. I used a 2″ Daffodil Delight circle with the hearts from “Sealed with Love”. I punched the mouth from Tip Top Taupe with 2 1/2″ and 1 1/4″ circles.

First, I nipped an arc on the edge of cardstock with the 2 1/2″ punch.

I finished with a semicircle using the 1 1/4″ punch. I sponged the Daffodil Delight circle with Crushed Curry and the mouth with Chocolate Chip.

I am still considering whether or not to make a card with my “Cool Treats” emoji…can you guess what it might be? Here’s a hint – it’s made with the soft-serve ice cream.

Party Animal Suite

“Balloon Adventures” and the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits Dies are part of the Party Animal Suite of products in the 2017 Occasions Catalog. This is one of the swaps I created with these products. It uses the pop-up die on the front of the card, not as a pop-up element on the inside.

The suite of products also includes fun embellishments (party hat shown above), designer paper, washi tape, and Emerald Envy ribbon (used below). My favorite thing about Stampin’ Up! is all of this coordination. These suites make it so easy to put a project together!

We made this card at a team event, and it uses the pop-up as intended, on the inside of the card.

This pop-up is very easy to place on the inside of the card because the entire midsection folds out. It is not necessary to get a close match with the fold on the card base.

This is the card we made at our Demo event in November. This one shows off more of the designer paper and the balloon embellishment.

The inside also uses the pop-up, with added strips of designer paper. I love how bright and fun this suite is!

Falling In Love Designer Paper

The new Falling In Love designer paper collection includes a pretty mix of patterns and colors for occasions beyond weddings and anniversaries. There are bokeh patterns, natural images and soft prints. There is also a hint of metallics throughout this paper collection.

I used a 3″ x 4″ piece of designer paper, matted on a 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla. The ribbon and the lacy background stamp across the width of the card are Sale-a-bration items. The flower is cut with a thinlit from the Sunshine Wishes, and the greeting is from “Rose Wonder”.
