Star of Light

dsc_0102w

“Star of Light” and the coordinating Starlight Thinlits offer an array of beautiful stars and greetings.  My favorite stamp is the stardust, and I thought it paired well with the Seaside Textured Impression Embossing Folder.  Here’s a look at what this bundle includes…my card doesn’t even begin to showcase all of it!

Joyful Nativity

dsc_0051w

“Joyful Nativity” is a Christmas set that you can find in our 2016-2017 Annual Catalog.  Some of the lovely silhouettes fit the oversized “O” for layering.  I have used the city of Bethlehem here, but you can see the other stamp options below.

Have a great Monday!  Don’t forget that today is the last day to take advantage of the BOGO Paper Pumpkin offer – click here to sign up.

Paper Pumpkin BOGO

pp_bogo_instagram_with-end-date

There are just a few days left to take advantage of the BOGO special from Paper Pumpkin.  Paper Pumpkin is a subscription to a monthly Stampin’ Up! project.  The projects are complete with stamps and ink, all you need is adhesive.  Here’s a look at this month’s kit.

The kit comes with extra tags and banners.  I decided to use all of my test tubes for Halloween treats, using the black cat and cauldron tags with the purple/black striped banners.  That leaves the pumpkins, sunflowers and yellow/brown striped banners for cards.  I made the cards below with these extras.

I used designer paper from the Halloween Night and Festive collections on Soft Suede card bases.  I kept these simple, with just a few extra trims, and I think they are just right for fall notes.

Want to give Paper Pumpkin a try?  If you are a first time subscriber, click here and use the promo code BOGO.  You’ll pay for the first month ($19.95 + tax, shipping is included), and the second month will come to you for FREE.  As a thank you, I will send you one of the fall notes shown above.  This offer ends October 10.

Have a great weekend!

Spooky Fun

ccmc427

I planned to make a daylight landscape with various patterns for the “hills” that I saw in this sketch.  As it turned out, I couldn’t pass up the cool spotty print from the Halloween Night collection.  It made the perfect night sky.

The Halloween Scenes edgelits and coordinating stamp set “Spooky Fun” live up to the name – they are fun to create with, and scenes come together easily.  To create the long fence, I cut two lengths of fence out of Smoky Slate.  I overlapped one of the fence posts on each and trimmed the ends.  While most of the pieces in this bundle are Halloween elements, the fence and tree will prove to have many more applications.

Cozy Critters

dsc_0048w

Not a critter to be seen here, but this present is from the “Cozy Critters” host set in the Holiday Catalog.  Made in Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugarplum and Bermuda Bay, it doesn’t exactly look like a holiday item either – it can be made to suit any occasion.

I used the Layering Circles Framelits to build up the focal point, using one layer of vellum between the scallop circle and the white circle.  I also added a fun bit of pom pom trim to the greeting from “B.Y.O.P.”

Thanks for stopping by!

Treat Coffin

dsc_0046w

We made these Halloween treats at our team meeting this month.  They are CASEd from a project done a couple of years ago by Allison Okamitsu.  Each is a pouch for a candy bar, and they are really quick and easy to create.

The base is cut from Basic Black with the Gift Card Envelope die.  The folds are modified slightly – the video shows how.

Have a great day!

Ultimate Pink Blog Hop

Welcome to the first ever Ultimate Pink Blog Hop – a collection of ideas from Stampin’ UP! demonstrators all over the globe featuring shades of pink in honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

With one in eight women affected by breast cancer, it is a rare person who has no personal connection to this disease.  My project is a card for a loved one.

I used two pinks that are beautiful together – Blushing Bride and Watermelon Wonder.  The card base is Tip Top Taupe.  I have used two embossing folders out of the Holiday Catalog – the Cable Knit folder because it gives off such a warm and cozy feeling, and Pretty Paisleys because it coordinates so well with the flower from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.

Thank you for taking part in this blog hop!  Remember, you are currently at my blog (Chris Slogar).  Please use the list below to travel to all of the blogs. Enjoy!

Halloween Pop-Up Card

dsc_0039w

Here’s a fun project for your weekend crafting.  This cute card has a pop-up insert piece that is in motion as the card is opened.  The video below shows how to make it.

We made these in Stamp Club this week, and a note to my members…Martha M came up with a very easy way to create that cone shape.  Fast Forward to 4:25 in the video to see how to create that fold.

Have a great weekend!

Welcome Baby

CCMC426

I really love to make the fox from “Foxy Friends” orange, so I made a foxy baby card with the challenge colors.

The fringe layers remind me of a bassinet.  Each strip is 1 1/2″ wide.
