Designer Paper Note Card Folder

dsc_2462w

I have been making these note card folders all summer with various papers after I saw the idea on Rachel Tessman’s blog.  We made this version in club last month.

These little totes open to reveal a pocket for note cards and envelopes.

We used papers from the Floral Boutique collection with Flirty Flamingo cardstock and stamped flowers.  The greeting and flowers are from “Perfectly Wrapped”.  The large flower on the outside of the folder is from “Crazy about You”.

I promised my club members video directions because it was too hard to write up directions or to show them in pictures.  I remade the project using some of our new holiday products below, and the video shows this version.

The designer paper is from the Presents & Pinecones collection.

dsc_2483w

I used Cherry Cobbler cardstock as an accent, and I simply decorated the flap with Mini Striped ribbon and a Mini Pinecone embellishment.

Here’s another look at how this folder opens.

You can see the empty pocket here – I always love it when a project also shows off the coordinating reverse side of the paper!

And here’s a better look at the notecards I made for this project, using the stamp set “Christmas Pines”.  The video below includes complete directions.

Thanks for stopping by!  The products used on the Christmas version are shown in the carousel below.  Also, if you missed it yesterday…items have been added to the Clearance Rack, so it is a great time to shop!

Fall Sampler

dsc_2472w

Here’s a look at the Fall Sampler we made in classes last week.  It uses the Petals & Paisleys designer series paper from our 2016 Holiday catalog.  These papers deliver expected fall colors along with gorgeous copper details.  The collection also includes some beautiful unexpected accent colors – like Mint Macaron.  The result is striking!

If you are local, this class will be offered again on Thursday, September 22 at noon and 7pm.  Please contact me to register.

If you are in the mood to shop, Stampin’ Up! added to the Clearance Rack today.  Clearance Rack items are only available while supplies last.  I will submit an order this evening.  Please contact me by 5 pm if you would like me to include anything for you.  I cannot promise that those items will still be available at 5 pm – if you want to be sure to get your items, click here to go to the Online store now.  Orders placed in the Online Store will ship directly to you.

Cookie Cutter Skeleton

dsc_2509w

I don’t use Washi Tape enough, and that is a shame because look at how easy it makes a background.  You can add coordinating color and pattern in no time!

This Washi Tape, enamel dots, twine, and the paper I used for the moon are from the Halloween Night collection in our Holiday Catalog.  Of course, the skeleton is from one of my favorites – “Cookie Cutter Halloween”.

On another note, Stampin’ Up! is telling us that they will add to the Clearance Rack tomorrow, Tuesday, September 13.  Just a little notice for anyone who likes bargains 🙂  Have a great Monday!

Triangle Flap Pocket Card

dsc_2478w

This is a remake of a card I posted as a “Christmas in July” project.  It reminds me of a wrap dress – the triangle flaps wrap the front of the card to create a pocket.

dsc_2479w

I used Candy Cane Lane designer paper with the stamp set “Candy Cane Christmas”.  I have also added a gingerbread man from “Cookie Cutter Christmas”.

Here is the original version, made with products that are available in the Annual Catalog.  You can find more details on this version here.

I now have a video showing how to create this card.  It’s quite easy, and I know you will enjoy using your favorite papers and stamps to create your own version!

Have a great weekend!

A Spooky Mess

CCMC423

I had a Halloween card in mind for this sketch, but I liked my components better when they were skewed and messy looking.

dsc_2473w

Halloween is the perfect occasion for a tousled, unkempt appearance.  The sketch was my starting point – I just ruffled it up a bit.

The skeleton is from the Cookie Cutter collection – they are easily the most fun products in the Holiday Catalog.  There is a stamp set for fall “Cookie Cutter Halloween” and one for Christmas “Cookie Cutter Christmas”, and of course, the fabulous Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.

We have great designer paper for Halloween, along with coordinating embellishments like the twine I have pulled apart and stapled to the squares.  The greeting and bats are from the stamp set “Spooky Fun”.  And did you notice the fabulous Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper?  So fun!

Thanks for checking out my card for this week’s sketch challenge!  Please visit Create with Connie and Mary to see all of the cards created by my talented teammates, as well as the entries.  Hope you’ll be inspired to play along!

Flourishing Phrases

DSC_2474w

“Flourishing Phrases” has been so popular because of the coordinating Flourish Thinlits, but the greetings in the set are just as lovely.  We made this card in Very Vanilla/Crumb Cake and Whisper White/Crumb Cake (below) last week in Card Buffet.

DSC_2475w

The inside says “with warmth & caring from me.”  It’s a simple and pretty way to deliver a get well message, and you can modify the colors to coordinate with the papers and ribbons of your choice.  I used patterns from the By the Shore and Affectionately Yours collections to coordinate with my Mint Macaron leaf from “Vintage Leaves”.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Cookie Cutter Halloween

My husband and I had tickets to the Ohio State home opener this weekend, and I have a few pictures of my favorite part of every home opener…

IMG_3458

The alumni band comes back for this game every year.  With 600 or so band members, the crowd is treated to four simultaneous Script Ohio performances.  The alumni are in red, and the current band members are in black.

It’s really awesome to see in person, and it has to be one of the best traditions in college football.

Here’s the YouTube video of this half-time show.  Script Ohio x 4 starts at 12:10.

So, I have a fall card to go with this today…

DSC_2465w

These cookie cutter people are so adorable!  I CASEd this card from Erica Cerwin.  Her original card is a baby card that you can see here.

I stamped the scarecrow on watercolor paper with Archival Black ink, and I colored him with an aquapainter.  I punched him out with the coordinating Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.  The background stamps are from “Timeless Textures” and “Gorgeous Grunge”.  The greeting is from “Acorny Thank You”.

Have a great week!

Jolly Friends

DSC_2468w

Oh my goodness these new holiday products are so fun!  I have used “Jolly Friends”  and the coordinating Jolly Hat Builder Punch here.  So cute and so festive, don’t you think?

The pine branches come from the Pretty Pines framelits.  As great as those framelits will be on their own, they are also great for little trim pieces like you see here.   The embossing folder is from the Annual Catalog, and it is on sale this week.  Check out the list of sale items below.

Foxy Friends

CCMC422

We have a soft color challenge this week at Create with Connie and Mary, and I made a card for a special one-year-old.

DSC_2467w

I do love our Foxy Friend in any shade of orange!  The greeting is from Sunshine Sayings, and the designer paper is from the Fruit Stand collection.

Thank you for checking out my challenge card.  Please visit Create with Connie and Mary to see all of the cards created by my talented teammates, as well as the entries.  Hope you’ll be inspired to play along!
