Snuggles and Smooches Patchwork

This is a repeat of the card and technique I posted yesterday, but it gives you a glimpse of the Stacked with Love Designer Paper Stack that will be available in the Occasions Catalog, starting January 6.  I also used an Itty Bitty Accent Epoxy Sticker in the bottom right corner.  These stickers, which coordinate with the 1/2″ Circle Punch and Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, will also be available January 6.  The stamps are from “Snuggles and Smooches”.

The papers in the stacks measure 4 1/2″ x 6 1/2″, so I have modified the dimensions from yesterday’s card to use the stack more efficiently.  Either set of dimensions work; the smaller ones allow you to cut two pieces from each sheet of the stack.  You may need to refer to yesterday’s post to understand how to make this, but let me give you the smaller dimensions:

Designer Paper – start with two pieces that each measure 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″

Cardstock Mat – 3 3/4″ x 5″

Have a great day!

Back to “Work”

Haha!  That’s what I told my family – I wanted a couple of hours to myself in the craft room today, so I am “working” 😉

I have a designer paper card today…

DSC_0502w

I love to use more than one paper pattern at a time.  This patchwork is a fun background, and it is easy to create.

DSC_0492w

Start with two pieces of designer paper, each 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles.  Stack them on your trimmer and cut them from edge to opposite edge at the same time.  If you would like your focal point centered, you can adjust your cuts accordingly, just make sure you cut through each edge once.

DSC_0493w

From those pieces, you can create two backgrounds on a 4″ x 5 1/4″ mat.  Add any image as the focal point.  I used the “Thank You” stamps from December’s Paper Pumpkin kit.  The Paper Pumpkin projects from this kit are shown below, but I will use these stamps on many other projects.

DSC_0499w

While I am on the subject, if you have this kit, I recommend mounting the repetitive greeting on a larger block than necessary – it fits a size C, but if you use D or larger, it is easier to see through and align.  Also, the refill for this kit is available to Paper Pumpkin subscribers – Item 136921 for $7.95 gives you the materials to make 9 more cards.  This is truly the easiest way to make these popular shaker cards.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, and I wish you all the best in 2015!

I love the addition of the heavyweight Under the Tree paper to the Clearance Rack for $5.19 instead of $12.95!  It is Crumb Cake and Whisper White on one side, so you could use it year-round.  And on the Weekly Deals, “Be the Star” is my favorite of the star sets we have available.

Don’t forget that you can add a Paper Pumpkin subscription for yourself or as a gift (maybe both?), and the cost will count toward Hostess Benefits.  My previous post has more details on that if you are interested.  It is not too late to give Paper Pumpkin for Christmas – you will get a link to a Gift Certificate that you can print immediately for your recipient.

What am I doing that is tearing me away from my blog over the holidays?  I have family in town, including this little guy…

This is an old picture, but I just love it!  He is just as cute now, maybe cuter!  Truth be told, though, he is probably more excited to see Chip than Aunt Chris.  Chip is exhausted after Day 1!

Give Fun

Paper Pumpkin Prepaid Subscriptions are the perfect gift this holiday season – for friends, family, and yourself!  Each month, a fully designed project kit will arrive with stamps, ink, and paper so anyone can skip to the fun.

Did you know that prepaid subscriptions count toward Hostess Benefits?  If you are shopping for a couple of friends, you can easily earn FREE product.  Prepaid subscription Item Numbers and prices are shown below:

And Hostess Benefits accumulate according to this table:

So, if you were to order three 3-month subscriptions, you would also be eligible to choose $25 in FREE product in the store.  Hostess Benefits are available immediately when your cart contains $150+.  Use the “Shop Now” button at the top of the right column to order with Item Numbers and earn Hostess Benefits in the online store.

Enter an individual Item Number for each subscription that you would like to give, and you will be emailed a redemption code and a printable gift card for each.  Each recipient must have their own subscription.  You cannot split up a 12-month subscription (for instance) into 3-month increments to distribute.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Easy Love Notes

DSC_0462w

“Snuggles and Smooches” is the December photopolymer release, and it gives us something to look forward to after Christmas.  Valentine’s Day does have a habit of sneaking up on us, so I am happy that this set is availble now.  What really sold me on this set is those great scribbles – they will surely not be limited to Valentine’s Day cards.

This card is made on our note cards.  You can make it with your favorite Washi Tapes and colors.  I chose blues again today, so I am once again proving that Soft Sky is very difficult to photograph.  Two days in a row…maybe I should hide that stamp pad!

I also made a Valentine’s set with “Snuggles and Smooches” and the new designer paper stack that will be available in the Occasions Catalog.

This set will be my Featured Project for the next few weeks.  If you place a $35 product order in my online store, I will send you a curvy box with heart tags and a file folder card like the one shown (patterns on designer paper may vary)   Please allow Demonstrator Contact when asked, or email me with your address so that I can mail this to you.

Here’s a better look at the whole “Snuggles and Smooches” set…

Painted Petals Sneak Peek

Stampin' Up! Painted Petals

You are going to love the new Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs!  They were revealed to demos earlier this month, and our pre-order period started shortly after.  I got my pre-order just in time for the weekend.

“Painted Petals” was the first set I inked up.  It is a two-step set, so flowers and stems are separate stamps.  I got it in Photopolymer so that I could see right through for easy placement.  Wood and clear-mount are also available.  Several of the sets in this catalog offer a choice of all three stamp types.

Painted Blooms is the absolutely beautiful designer paper collection that coordinates with this set.  I used it here, the Daffodil Delight Stripes.  There are also some very pretty florals in the collection, and you will see them soon.

Have a great Monday, and a note to my regular followers…I will be posting less frequently over the next three weeks as the holidays take over.  However, I am sure I will be working with the new goodies as much as possible (which is not really work) to get ready for a new season of classes, clubs and shared ideas.

Banner Blessings for retrosketches

DSC_0428w

“Banner Blessings” is a recent release, and I  had it in mind when looking for a sketch to follow this week.  I found this sketch at retrosketches.

This sketch is really calling for more – more horizontal elements and more stuff on the focal point, but I have been in a “simpler is better” mood lately.  The designer paper has a lot of pattern, and the sentiment is already layered with the verse on the banner.  I liked it without a lot of extras.

You can see more entries in this challenge at retrosketches.

Have a great weekend!

Throwback to Punch Pals

DSC_0398w

I needed a fun Christmas card for a child, and I spotted “Punch Pals” in my stash.  It is a retired set from 2007 that I have used a couple of times this year.  I used it with the houses from “Holiday Home” to make a scene for this Card in a Box.

The box construction is much easier than  you would expect – honest!  That is not just my opinion – I get that comment all the time when we make this card type in classes.  I have a video with instructions, and I will post it again here in case you would like to try it.

Quick and Cute!

Curvy Box with a Window

These curvy boxes are irresistable!  I have been anxious to make them with our Under the Tree Specialty Designer Paper (Holiday Catalog pg 5).  It is a collection of heavy kraft cardstock that is perfect for boxes and 3D projects.  It is printed on two sides and includes a good mix of Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green Christmas prints and more neutral year-round patterns in Whisper White and Early Espresso.

This is a 3D item that you can dress up with whatever you have.  I cut a window in each side of my box with a star framelit, pierced each and added a pieces of window sheet before assembling.  Then I simply added some coordinating trims and tags.  The little tag is cut with a framelit that comes with the curvy box.

People have been surprised at what fits in these boxes – they hold 12 Hershey kisses, or anything that takes a similar volume.  I have 6 Reese’s bells in this box.

Have a great day!
