Facebook Live Projects

I changed the look of my stitched bunnies (click here for earlier post) by changing the paper and making a profile view.  I used the same stitched shapes – the 1 7/8″ and 2 3/8″ circles along with the smallest oval – for the body, ears and feet.  The tail is from the Needlepoint Elements framelits.  The mat is a 4 3/4″ long stitched rectangle, embossed with the Basket Weave TIEF.

I made three different versions with the printed sheets from the Floral Romance collection.  They look quite different from the bright bunnies I made with the Happiness Blooms collection.

I also made this treat pouch which fits a flat Reese’s peanut butter egg or Hershey’s marshmallow egg.  I will add a video soon showing how to create this pouch in any dimensions.

The designer paper for this pouch size measures 6″ x 7 1/2″.  It is scored at 2 1/2″, 3 1/2″, 6″, and 7″ on the longer side and 3/4″, 1 1/2″, 4 1/2″ and 5 1/4″ on the shorter side.

The last project was this Origami Frame Fold card.  I used the Needlepoint Nook designer paper collection and added the stitched impression from the Needlepoint Elements framelit.

The folded frame piece starts from a 4″ square of designer paper.  The greeting from the Darling Label Punch box is stamped on a 2 1/2″ square of Whisper White.

The following examples are made the same way, with different patterns and colors from the Needlepoint Nook collection.

I hope these projects inspire you to get creative with your designer papers.  This post is meant as a supplement to last night’s Facebook Live – click here to see the full video.

Stitched Bunnies

It’s no secret that I love bright colors, but these bunnies would be cute with pastel florals and papers, too.  I am also a fan of punch art – especially to make simple, no-fuss shapes like these bunnies.  Technically, they are not “punch art” since I made the pieces with my Stitched Shapes framelits, but it’s the same idea.

I used the two medium stitched circles (1 7/8″ and 2 3/8″) and the smallest stitched oval for my bunnies.  The embossed background piece is a Stitched Rectangle, embossed with the Dot to Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The little flowers are from the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack, and I added a retired Easter greeting.

Designer Paper Projects

Last night’s Facebook Live was all about using designer paper – especially the neglected sheets from your collections!  I started with this beautiful wood grain from the Floral Romance Specialty collection.  Of course, we were wild about the vellum sheets in this collection, but this really subtle printed sheet is great for stamping.

I used “Abstract Impressions” and a bunch of bright colors here – Flirty Flamingo, Lovely Lipstick, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, Pineapple Punch, and Mango Melody.  When compared to stamping on Whisper White, these colors are slightly subdued here, but still show up very nicely.

The designer paper measures 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ in this and the next example, and the mats (Pineapple Punch and Whisper White) measure 4″ x 5 1/4″.

Here’s an even easier example.  I used the big bold butterfly from “Beautiful Day” on this designer paper from the Butterfly Gala collection.  The greeting here is from “Hello Cupcake”.

To produce a really opaque black image on a printed sheet, I recommend Archival Black or StazOn Black.  I also recommend using the Stamparatus or Stamp-a-ma-jig when stamping these images so that you can easily stamp multiple times to get a really dark image.

This is another of the printed sheets from the Floral Romance collection.  I framed an image from “Artfully Aware” with the Stitched Rectangle Framelits.  This is simple, but I think the end result is really sweet.

The designer paper measures 4″ x 5 1/4″ on this card and in the following samples.

This is similar to the previous example, but made with brights and “Birthday Cheer”.  This bundle is expected to sell out before the end of the Occasions Catalog, so don’t hesitate if you want it!

Finally, we used designer paper (Needlepoint Nook) to highlight negative space – in this case from the Dog Builder Punch.  The greeting is from the Well Said Bundle.  There are so many great greeting options in this bundle.  A second version of this card is shown below.

You can also use the negative space from your dies for this same effect.

I hope these projects inpsire you to get creative with your designer papers, stamps, punches and dies.  This post is meant as a supplement to last night’s Facebook Live – click here to see the full video.

Note Card Clutch

I am really thrilled to be the Guest Author of today’s Wednesday Tutorial at splitcoaststampers.com.  Splitcoaststampers is such a great source of inspiration, and I am honored to contribute!

My project is a clutch which holds a set of 3 1/2″ x 5″ note cards and envelopes.  You may recognize it from a Facebook Live I did last fall, but I have remade it here with products from our All My Love Suite.  It is made by folding an 11″ square of designer paper.

This would be a great seasonal hostess gift, Mother’s Day gift or shower favor.  The note cards are shown below, and the video gives complete instructions.  If you are receiving this post in an email, please click here for the video.

Little Elephant

I had fun creating this scene with the Little Elephant bundle and Twinkle Twinkle designer paper.  I made this for a friend who had a recent addition of twins in her family, thus the addition of an “s” to the greeting.

Hello Cupcake Explosion Card

The “Hello Cupcake” stamp set pairs well with the How Sweet It Is designer paper collection.  I used them to make this explosion card.  It opens as shown below.

This creates a real WOW factor, but it is not hard to create.

The inner piece is a 6″ square of Whisper White, scored in half each way and  also across one diagonal.  The triangles of designer paper are halves of 2 3/4″ squares.  The notch on each side is made with the Envelope Punch Board.

You can choose to receive “Hello Cupcake” for free with a $50 purchase.  There are many great free product choices available during Sale-a-bration, but only through March 31!  Visit the online store to see them all.

Seed Packet Cards

The seed packet cards from last night’s facebook live were a fun project for the first day of spring.  At least the calendar says it is spring, even if the weather hasn’t caught up yet!  I showed two layouts – one with the seed packet on the front as shown above, and one with the pocket on the inside of the card.

This first one, in Petal Pink and Grapefruit Grove, uses a Medium Clear Envelope as the pocket for the seed packet.  The beautiful die cut from Springtime Impressions looks like the pocket piece, but it is actually attached over the top of the the clear envelope.

The card base is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″, and the Gingham Gala paper measures 4″ x 5 1/4″.  Please check out the video below for more complete instructions.  If you are receiving this post in an email, please click here for the video.

These are very easy to make, and they would be great for Mother’s Day, showers, event favors, or any occasion.

The second layout uses designer paper as the base, and the pocket is on the inside.  This group of samples uses the Happiness Blooms suite.  The matted pieces on the card fronts are stitched rectangles.

The designer paper measures 5 1/2″ x 12″, scored at 4″ and 8″.  The inner Whisper White card measures 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″.

This one uses the Well Said bundle and a few blooms from the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack.

This one uses the Painted Seasons stamps and designer paper.  The seed packet was a bit bulkier on this sample, so I have added a length of Braided Linen Trim to tie the card closed.

I hope you will try making these with your favorite papers and stamps.  I think they make a perfect seasonal card for any occasion!
