Two Great Things from the Mini

These are my Facebook Live projects from last night – the two great things are the Snowflake Specialty Vellum and the Snowman Magic Bundle. I can’t get enough of either of them!

Click here for the Facebook Live video, and please join the Buckeye Inklings Stampers Group on Facebook to get notice of my live videos.

The card and gift card holder each use the vellum sheets that are printed with iridescent foil. There are three different prints, and the package includes each print in iridescent foil and white flocking, for a total of six 12″ x 12″ sheets.

SNOWFLAKE 12 X 12 (30.5 X 30.5 CM) SPECIALTY VELLUM

The die set in the Snowman Magic bundle includes this great frame, which I simply cut into a 4″ x 5 1/4″ mat of Coastal Cabana cardstock. The hill is cut from a 3 7/8″ wide piece of Basic White, cut at the top with one of the Basic Borders dies. This edge could easily be hand cut. The vellum measures 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″, and both are attached behind the Coastal Cabana frame.

The sentiments and stamps in this bundle are so cute! See the full set below.

SNOWMAN MAGIC BUNDLE (ENGLISH)

The gift card holder is very similar to a gift card holder that I have been making for years (click here for a designer paper version) – the difference here is that I added a cardstock liner behind the gift card, and I used a longer length of vellum so that I could double up the thickness of the vellum at the flap.

Dimensions are as follows…

  • Vellum 4″ x 12″, scored at 3″, 6″, 9 1/8″
  • Coastal Cabana 3″ x 3 7/8″ and 2 7/8″ x 3 7/8″
  • Basic White 2 7/8″ x 3 3/4″

The pocket section is the 3″ width, and the 2 7/8″ width is the flap section (which gets folded back to create a flap that is approximately 1 3/8″).

WARNING!! — If you have a directional print, plan the score lines accordingly. You could actually score at 3″, 6″, and 9″ to make it easier, but I like the extra 1/8″ in the greeting section so that the fold at the flap can easily wrap around the bulk of the card.

And last, but not least…this cute little favor which is a remake of a Hershey Nugget project from years ago! The Nuggets are wrapped with 1″ x 3″ pieces of Basic White, stamped and decorated as desired with snowman faces and accessories. The tray that holds the Nuggets is 2 1/2″ tall x 3″, scored at 1/2″ and 2 1/2″.

Shopping Bag Card

I showed how to make this card last night on Facebook Live. It uses our beautiful Sweet Gingerbread Bundle and the Santa Express designer paper. If you are interested in this bundle, I am offering it to you in my current class listing at a discount – I will cover shipping and tax from Stampin’ Up! when you purchase it with my class (click here for class details).

The card opens to reveal a tiny shopping bag which can hold a gift card or other flat gift.

I am showing pictures and dimensions here for easy reference, but you may need to see the video for complete instructions. The video is copied below, but please join the Buckeye Inklings Stampers Group on Facebook to get notifications of all of my live videos.

Dimensions are as follows:

  • Shaded Spruce Card Base, 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 3 5/8″, 8 7/8″
  • Designer Paper for Card Front 1 7/8″ x 4″, 3 3/8″ x 4″
  • Belly Band 1 1/2″ x 11″
  • Designer Paper for Shopping Bag 4″ x 9 1/4″, scored at 1/2″, 1″, 4 1/2″, 5″, 5 1/2″, 9″ AND 1″, 3 1/2″ in other direction (1″ score at top of bag)

I am showing how to score and trim the shopping bag piece below, using a piece of designer paper from last year (which is lighter and allows an easier view of the markings).

These pictures show the outside (top photo) and inside (bottom photo) of the bag piece when just ready for assembly. Note the locations of the Tear-n-Tape.

Check out the video below for complete instructions, and if you need any of the products to make this project, I would appreciate your business in my online store. Don’t forget that the adorable Sweet Gingerbread bundle is available at a discount with my current class.

Decorated with Happiness Two Pocket Gift Card Holder

I presented this gift card holder as the first project in my Christmas in July Facebook Live videos on Wednesday. I am adding pictures and details here, but you may also want to see the video. I added it to YouTube for easier reference, and attached it below. Please join the Buckeye Inklings Stampers Group on Facebook to catch my live videos!

I CASEd this from Mindy Clove, altering her design just slightly so that my scalloped edge on the gift card holder would show better. It is my favorite new gift card holder – it takes advantage of both sides of the designer paper; it’s very adaptable to other themes; AND it’s a pocket card. You know how these things make me very happy 🙂

Dimensions are as follows…

  • Real Red Cardstock Base 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
  • Designer Paper 5 1/4″ x 12″, scored at 4″, 7 1/4″, 10 1/4″
  • Basic White 3 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
  • Pool Party 1″ x 4 1/4″

I hope you’ll give this a try with any of your favorite products! To shop, please click here for my online store or use the carousel below to be directed to any of the products I used today.

Our New Blues

I used products from my July-December Mini Catalog preorder to show off our new blues. Blue is my color, so I am thrilled that three of the In Colors this year are blue – Tahitian Tide, Starry Sky, and Orchid Oasis. Orchid Oasis leans toward purple, but it still looks quite blue to me.

The new products are the stamp sets – Christmas Scottie (which will stretch beyond Christmas) and Amazing Phrasing (a Sale-a-bration “Free with $100” set). The heart pearls and designer paper are already available from the Annual Catalog. I colored the pearls with my Sweet Sorbet Blend.

Thank you for checking out my cards! Pretty Pop-Ups

Did you notice the stand-alone die set shown on page 17 of the Annual Catalog? The collection is called Pretty Pop-Ups. There are several shapes included, and I found that the large circle provides a wonderful alternative to an embossed background.

The images within the die are not completely cut, and parts of each outline can be raised slightly for added texture. You can add color to the shapes, but even a simple impression on colored cardstock looks great as a layer!

The new pearls I am using are Iridescent – the photo doesn’t do them justice, but they are so pretty in person! Always nice to have great new bling!!

The dimensions on this card are as follows…

  • Pale Papaya 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Basic White 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
  • Soft Seafoam 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Designer Paper 1 1/4″ x 3 3/4″

Here’s a look at the complete collection of dies…

Potted Geraniums

I am a big fan of geraniums – I get them for our flowerbeds every year from the Horticulture Club at our local high school – so I was excited to see the Potted Geraniums Bundle in this year’s Annual Catalog!

The flowers and leaves are made with two-step stamps. On the above card, I stamped the flowers in Sweet Sorbet and Cherry Cobbler and the leaves are Soft Seafoam and Garden Green. The designer paper is from the Tea Boutique Suite.

I made a duplicate of this card with some retired paper and ribbon – the flowers here are Fresh Freesia and Melon Mambo. These more closely match the flowers I bought this year…

Thank you for checking out my card!
