Merry Christmas To All Tree

The stamp set “Merry Christmas To All” is a must-have for Christmas greetings.  There are so many greeting combinations on this set.  I expected to always use it with other sets, but today it stands alone on my little plank tree.

I used a 2″ strip of designer paper from the Festive Farmhouse collection and a 3″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Crumb Cake, embossed with the Corrugated TIEF.  The Crumb Cake piece shrinks down to about 4″ when embossed, thanks to the deep impressions from this embossing folder.

Each of the strips that make up my tree are 1/2″.  The lengths are 1″ and 2 1/4″ (Call Me Clover), 1 1/2″ and 2 3/4″ (Real Red), and 3 3/4″ Whisper White.  The stand is a portion of a 1 3/8″ circle.

Here’s a look at all of the greetings in this bundle.  I know this set is a “keeper” for me, especially because of the coordinating dies.

Santa’s Workshop Favors and More!

I have pictures and videos from yesterday’s Facebook Live…it was a little rough, definitely not my best Live, but the projects are worth looking at!  LOL   I’m going to blame the ringing phone.  It also didn’t help that I set myself up for failure with the two acrylic plates around the wreath folder.

Anyway, let’s start with the follow-up projects…

This was one of last week’s cards – a gate fold with a mat piece that extends over the seam.  Click here for more details on this project.  I suggested that the gate fold can go either way on this card type, and yesterday I showed this example…

The Poppy Parade card base measures 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 3″ and 7 1/4″.  The designer paper pieces measure 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ and 2 3/4″ x 5 1/4″.

So that was easy enough, but the next one gave me trouble…

The gable box is embossed with the Seasonal Wreath Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  This is one of those thicker folders that provides deep texture.  When you send this folder through the Big Shot, don’t forget that you only need one acrylic plate with the Dynamic folders!!  If you are going to make a Facebook Live about this, I recommend setting only one plate out so that you don’t end up flustered like me!

And finally, after the ringing phones, we got to the main focus…

These are self-closing favors, and as you can see, you can make them in a variety of sizes.  Once you learn the technique you can modify the size even more.  I will go over the three sizes shown.

This is the size that we made in the video.  You can make this size from a 4″ x 6″ piece of designer paper.  The scoring is shown in the picture below, and I have also listed the steps to create this piece.  If you need more help on this, I refer you back to the Live Video – this part of the video actually went ok!!

  1. Score 3/4″ from top and bottom of the piece (horizontal dotted lines in picture).
  2. Score the vertical solid and dashed lines.  (I rotate the piece so that the bottom of the designer paper is at the top of my scoring tool.  Then I score at 1 3/8″, stopping at the 3/4″ score line.  Score full length at 2 3/4″.  Score at 4 1/8″, stopping at the 3/4″ score line.  Score full length at 5 1/2″.  This leaves a 1/2″ tab that you see at the left on this picture).
  3. Score diagonals as shown using a straight edge, stylus and pierce mat.
  4. Cut solid lines to trim away corners and create tabs.  Trim a slight taper on each tab at the bottom of the box.
  5. Round top corners (if desired).
  6. Add adhesive to side flap and secure.  Add adhesive to two alternate bottom tabs and secure.

This favor is made from a 5 3/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of designer paper.  The method is the same, but the dimensions differ as follows:

  1. The horizontal score lines are made at 1″ from the top and bottom edges.
  2. After you rotate the paper to score the bottom edge, the locations of the vertical scores are 2″, 4″, 6″, and 8″.

And finally, the cute little is made from a 2 3/4″ x 4 1/2″ piece of designer paper.

  1. The horizontal score lines are made at 1/2″ from the top and bottom edges.
  2. After you rotate the paper to score the bottom edge, the locations of the vertical scores are 1″, 2″, 3″ and 4″.

Merry Christmas To All

The Frosted Floral designer paper is so beautiful that I never want to cover it up!  The surface of the paper is shimmery and lustrous.  I added the greeting from “Merry Christmas To All” and a few shapes from the Sprig Punch.  Each of those sprigs is also shimmery; I brushed them with Wink of Stella.  The pearls are colored with my Dark Blackberry Bliss Blend Marker.

Labels to Love

“Labels to Love” makes great labels and tags, but the set also make great greetings.  This is a card that you can create with any of your favorite designer papers and one of the “Labels to Love” greetings.  I am using papers from the Festive Farmhouse designer paper collection.

“Labels to Love” is one of the stamp sets that will be on sale tomorrow, in Stampin’ Up!’s 24-Hour Sale.  The details are below.

A Favorite Fun Fold

I made two versions of this gate fold card last night on Facebook Live.  It’s a great layout for two coordinating background papers and a small focal point.  I used a wood grain print from Festive Farmhouse and a piece of Whisper White stamped with “Buffalo Check” as the background for my snowman.

The snowman is from “Spirited Snowmen”, colored with Stampin’ Blends.  The snowflakes are from the Blizzard Thinlits Die.

The Balmy Blue base measures 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 2 1/4″ and 7 3/4″.  The flaps on the front of the card meet, but the Buffalo Check piece extends above the Balmy Blue edge.  As a result, you don’t see the seam between the two Balmy Blue flaps.  It’s a very clean look for a gate fold card.

The wood grain designer paper measures 2″ x 4″, and the Buffalo Check piece measures 3 1/2″ x 4″.

This card uses the same layout, but with patterns from the Joyous Noel designer paper collection.  The snowflake dies will be available starting November 1, part of a fabulous suite including 20 dies, coordinating stamp sets, embellishments and velvet paper  – the details of that promotion are shown below.

A Big Thank You

Well, it’s really not so big, but it is from the stamp set “A Big Thank You”…

I do love the greetings in this set, and the coordinating thinlit.  There are so many ways to say thank you.  You can see the full set below.  Some sets come and go from my collection, but this one is sure to be a keeper!

I used three different Blackberry Bliss patterns from the Country Lane designer paper collection.  I couldn’t decide on one, and then noticed how great they look together!  Each strip measures 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″, and the Pool Party mat measures 3 3/4″ x 5″.

I also used three punches – the new Sprig Punch, the Blossom Builder Punch and the Everyday Label Punch.

Here’s a much simpler fall thank you, also made with this set.  I cut off the round ends from the Everyday Label Punch shape, and this card is almost all stamping.  You could make up quit sets of these as this card uses our precut and scored note cards.

JOY

This year’s new greens are great for Christmas!  I especially love this combination of Shaded Spruce on Soft Sea Foam.  The Real Red letters really pop off of this background.

The snowflakes are cut from the Blizzard Thinlits die.  I used a Pearlized Doily and Frosted Droplets to add some contrast to the rustic crumb cake tag and background.

The Large Letters are an investment, but they are useful year-round.  With the holidays coming up, I recommend adding these to your Wish List and planting lots of hints to your loved ones to get these!

I can also help you earn Stampin’ Rewards.  If you have a few friends who would like to order, I would love to set up a group order so that you earn benefits according to the chart below.  Each person can receive their own order at their address.  Note that when the group order reaches $450, you get to select any item for half price!

Please contact me at stampyourworld@gmail.com if you would like to set this up.  I love to help my customers get the maximum benefit from their orders!

Fun Treats

Last night’s Facebook Live was all about treats.  We started with this very simple pouch for a Reese’s Pumpkin.  The pouch is made from a 6″ square of designer paper rolled into a tube and closed at both ends.  All are closed at the bottom with Tear ‘n Tape.  The one on the left is also secured at the top with Tear ‘n Tape.  The one on the right is closed by tying with a ribbon.

These treats were inspired by Ann Krucek – each is made from half of an acetate box.

Each has a piece of designer paper which lines the inside back of the box.  The designer paper also creates a flap on the front of the box.  The designer paper measures 4 3/8″ x 5″, scored at 2 7/8″ and 3 1/2″.  If the paper is directional (like the cauldrons), make your score lines accordingly.

A small piece of Velcro holds the flap closed.

This is a treat for someone who needs tissues and tea.

My Get Well version has a box top made from designer paper.  The designer paper measures 7 1/2″ x 3 3/4″.  It is scored 1 1/2″ from each side (at 1 1/2″ and 6″ on the 7 1/2″ side, and at 1 1/2″ and 2 1/4″ on the 3 3/4″ side).

I used the Frosted Floral designer series paper and “Healing Hugs”, but of course you can modify this to suit your occasion.

I hope these still pictures and details make a good supplement to last night’s video. I used the stamp set “A Big Thank You” and its coordinating thinlit here.  I love that this thinlit is pretty and scripty without being too delicate!  It’s very easy to cut and glue.

I meant to use fall colors, but my brights were really calling out to me on this one.  The silver strand is pulled from my Silver and Whisper White Baker’s Twine.

Happy Fall

You wouldn’t know it with the 80 degree temperatures in Ohio this weekend, but it is fall!

I haven’t made many banners, but last time I was with my girls, we noticed some cute fall banners at Target.  I told the girls to give me a couple of days, and I would be happy to make them banners for their apartments.  This is what I came up with.

Each piece started as a 3″ x 6″ piece of Crumb Cake card stock.  I cut the pennant ends with scissors and embossed them with the Corrugated embossing folder.  Dawn Thomas’ beautiful banner (click here) inspired me to use the Buffalo Check background.  I cut my Buffalo Check pieces with one of the recently retired Stitched Seasons framelits.

There are a few other retired products thrown in here (the wood buttons and leaf).  This is a great project for odds & ends!  They were so fun that I see some Christmas banners in my near future.
