Little Elephant Pocket Card

Since the panels are done in different colors, this card really looks like a wrap dress – or keeping with this theme, a receiving blanket wrap on a newborn.  In any case, this wrap creates a pocket card.

I am using “Little Elephant” with its coordinating builder punch.  This bundle is too cute!!

The Flirty Flamingo mat measures 4″ x 5″, and the Whisper White measures 3 3/4″ x 4 3/4″.

This is the card base.  I started with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Granny Apple Green, scored at 4 1/4″.  I cut away a diagonal section as shown.

The Pineapple Punch piece is 5 1/2″ x 4 3/4″, scored at 1/2″.  I cut away a diagonal section as shown.  I also trimmed at a diagonal on the 1/2″ flap, so that the flap does not show when the pocket card is removed.  I attached the flap to the Granny Apple Green piece as shown.

To make the pocket, I applied the adhesive ALONG THE BOTTOM ONLY of the inside of the Pineapple Punch piece.

The designer paper pieces are each triangles with sides 4″ x 5 1/4″.  Take care to notice the direction of the patterns and the direction of your diagonal cut when you create these pieces.  Attach them to the pieces that will be the front of the pocket before securing the final triangular section (Granny Apple Green) to the card front.

Once again, the designer paper patterns steal the show – they are so versatile.  I think everybody should have a pack of these patterns from their favortie color collection.

Holiday Catalog Sneak Peeks

I’m using two new stamps here, and these will be available from our holiday collection starting September 5.  The pot of sunflowers is from the set “Many Blessings”, and the plaid background stamp is “Buffalo Check”.  The greeting is from “Itty Bitty Greetings”, which was new in this year’s Annual Catalog.

I used Mango Melody Blends (new Holiday Catalog color) for the sunflowers along with Old Olive, Soft Suede, Rich Razzleberry, and Crumb Cake.  Fall colors make me so happy!

I won’t add a shopping carousel for this one, since many of the items are not yet available.  If you are trying to match colors, the card base is Crumb Cake.  The Crushed Curry mat measures 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″ and the Old Olive measures 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″.

A Simple Hello

Once again, designer paper patterns come in handy to make an easy card.  This pattern is from the 2017-2019 In Color Stack – it is Berry Burst.  I used both sides of one of the sheets here for the dots and stripes.  It’s so great to have these monochormatic sheets because you can use them in any color combination.

The Whisper White mat measures 3 3/4″ x 5″.  The designer paper pieces are 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″ and 3 3/4″ x 1 1/8″.  I used that great Stitched Season shape for my vase.  Keep in mind that those Stitched Season framelits are only available through the end of August.

Farmhouse Christmas for Halloween

I wouldn’t limit the images from “Farmhouse Christmas” to Christmas projects.  The cozy farmhouse and accessories will be cute year-round.  This bundle was at the top of my preorder list, and it will be available September 5.  The greeting is also from our upcoming Holiday Catalog, from the set “Spooky Sweets”.

I used a 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ Mango Melody mat with a 3 3/8″ x 4 5/8″ Basic Gray mat, embossed with the Sparkle TIEF.  The moon is a 2 1/4″ punched circle in Pineapple Punch.  The little extras are always my favorite things – on this card, the Glittered Organdy Ribbon and Twinkle Sequin and Rhinestones make great finishing touches.  (The ribbon will also be available on September 5.)

Have a great Monday!

Summer Brights

This is the time of year that I am really torn between summery projects and holiday catalog projects.  I’m like a kid in a candy shop with my holiday preorder, but I’m also not ready to let go of the bright colors of summer – especially since we have so many gorgeous new colors this summer!

The flowers are stamped with “Abstract Impressions”, and the colors are Pineapple Punch, Mango Melody, Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green.  The greeting is from “Perennial Birthday”, stamped in Poppy Parade.

The designer paper is from the Brights Designer Paper Stack – I find myself reaching for this paper a lot.  The patterns make such a great background.  The striped piece on this card is a 4 1/4″ square.  I added a Poppy Parade border strip punched with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch.  Such an easy card, but so eye-catching!

Gusseted Cello Bags

We made projects with our 3″ x 6″ Gusseted Cello Bags last night on Facebook Live.  They are perfect treat bags for the upcoming holidays.  I used the large and medium Stitched Season framelits for the simple bag topper that you see here.  The designer paper is from the Toil & Trouble collection, and the greeting is from “Spooky Sweets”.

The Stitched Seasons framelits are available through August along with related products as shown in the flyer below.

View Fullscreen

These projects use the same gusseted bags, but this time, the designer paper lines the bag.  The flap edge is cut with the small Stitched Season framelit, and it folds over the outside of the front of the bag.  I CASEd this idea from Satomi Wellard.

The designer paper strips measure 2 3/4″ x 10″, scored at 1″, 3″, and 8″.  If your paper has a directional pattern, plan the scores accordingly!

The project on the left is like the previous projects, except that there is no 1″ fold of designer paper showing at the botton of the bag.  The strip for this bag is 2 3/4″ x 9″, scored at 2″ and 7″.

The version on the right has a tray for a K Cup.  I used a strip of Mint Macaron cardstock measuring 2 3/4″ x 12″, scored at 1/2″, 2 1/2″, 4″, 6″, 7 1/2″, and 10 3/4″.  I added a 1 1/2″ x 2 3/4″ piece of designer paper to the front of the tray.  You can use a strip of designer paper instead of cardstock to make this, but again, if you have a directional pattern, plan your scores accordingly!

I made this K Cup version with an Ohio State K Cup.  It is made with a strip of black cardstock, decorated with a gray panel and Buckeye colors.  Some of the punches used to make the buckeye are retired, as is the greeting stamp (from last year’s “Merry Cafe”).

I hope these pictures and details make a good supplement to last night’s Live.  Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions, or check out the video on Facebook.

The holiday products will not be available until September 5 – unless you sign up as a Demonstrator.  New Demonstrators can choose holiday catalog products as part of their Starter Kit.  If you have any questions, or would like to receive a Holiday Catalog in the mail, please email me at stampyourworld@gmail.com.

As always, if you need any of our fabulous products, I would so appreciate your business in the online store.  Place an order over $35 with this month’s Hostess Code and you will receive a package of Metallic Pearls from me as a thank you!  Orders over $50 are also eligible for a Buckeye Point in my Loyalty Rewards Program.

Alaska Incentive Trip Blog Hop

Welcome to the Alaska Achievers Blog Hop for August!  You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog (Chris Slogar) or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the projects.

The Alaska Incentive Trip has come and gone, so this month we are sharing projects made from products received on the trip.  In our nightly pillow gifts, we received items from the upcoming 2018 Holiday Catalog.  I am sharing a card made with the Making Christmas Bright Bundle.

The punch that coordinates with the stamp set cuts both pieces of the light bulbs shown above, making it so easy to create a string of lights.  The bright green wire is a 20 gauge wire from the jewelry section of my local craft store.

This will be a fun set to use for the holidays!

Need a Holiday Catalog?  If you live in the US, and you don’t already have a Demonstrator, please email me at stampyourworld@gmail.com.  I would be happy to send you one!

Thanks so much for taking part in our blog hop today!  Remember that currently you are at my blog – Chris Slogar – so check the blog hop line up list to see who is next, and enjoy!

From the Heart

There are so many great colors in the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Paper!  I picked a few to use for my pieces on this card.  I was inspired by the tag shown on page 119 of our Annual Catalog, but this CASE ends up looking quite different in Mint Macaron, Tranquil Tide, Blackberry Bliss and Petal Pink.  The catalog sample is shown below.

If you need any of our fabulous products, I would so appreciate your business in my online store!  Please click here to shop or use the carousel below to be directed to a particular product.  Place an order over $35 with this month’s Hostess Code and you will receive a package of Metallic Pearls from me as a thank you!  Orders over $50 are also eligible for a Buckeye Point in my Loyalty Rewards Program.
