Welcoming Window

The Welcoming Window bundle is a really fun group of stamps and dies for arranging! I think it rivals the flower arranging bundles because it has so many fun pieces.

I can’t decide if I like the Basic White wall or the Gray Granite wall better – but in either case, I love the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder!

Valentines

I started last night’s Facebook Live with this fun gift card holder. It looks like the gift card slides into a pocket created by the label shape, but that space would not be large enough – it actually slides down behind the designer paper.

This post is meant as a supplement to last night’s Facebook Live. I am presenting the pictures and dimensions are here for easy reference, but you may need to see the video for complete instructions. Please click here to see the video – and please join the Buckeye Inklings Stampers Group on Facebook to get notifications of all of my live videos.

Dimensions are as follows:

  • Blackberry Bliss 4 1/4″ x 9 3/4″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Designer Paper 4″ x 4″ and 1 1/4″ x 4″
  • Basic White 4″ x 5 1/4″

The designer paper is from the Oh So Ombre collection, one of the products you can choose for free with a $50 order during Sale-a-bration. The stamps and dies are from the Lots of Heart bundle, with the exception of the label shape, which is from the Tasteful Labels collection.

This card is made the same way, featuring a Darling Donkey colored with Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends. In this version, I hid the gift card on the inside…

This is a really small gift card, shaped like a conversation heart. To make sure it wouldn’t drop down into the space under the ombre designer paper, I added adhesive on the underside of the paper to limit the pocket depth. The adhesive is at about the same level as the bottom of the label shape.

The Darling Donkey stamp set is another of the products you can choose for free with a $50 order during Sale-a-bration.

The scalloped heart from the Many Hearts dies is a great size for this project. The heart on the front of my card is for decoration, and the one on the inside hides the slot for the gift card.

These are just a few ideas. I am sure you can come up with many shapes to use as a faux pocket. You can also make this card in portrait orientation.

I also want to share this great idea to make “strawberries” out of Dove chocolate hearts. I got this idea from Barb Thomas on my team. She made an adorable decorated cardstock box of strawberries for one of our team challenges.

Our Sweet Strawberry bundle is a punch bundle that you can use to make the stems. They are stamped with Garden Green ink on Granny Apple Green cardstock, punched, and added to each chocolate with a glue dot. So cute!!

I made a very simple berry crate. I used two pieces of Early Espresso cardstock, 2″ x 4 3/4″ and 2 1/4″ x 4 3/4″, each scored at 1 1/4″ and 3 1/2″. The score lines create the 1 1/4″ high sides of the crate, and the middle of each strip is part of the crate bottom. The bottoms are simply glued together, and then the sides are banded by a 1/2″ x 12″ strip of designer paper from the In Good Taste collection.

The crate is packaged in one of our 3″ x 9″ cello bags. The tag is made from stamps in our Sale-a-bration host set, Punch Party. If you have a few friends who would like to place their orders as a group, please contact me to set this up – a group order of $300 earns this set for the Host!

I also showed this strawberry version of the ever-popular wrapped Hershey Nugget tray. The strawberries are so cute lined up this way! We no longer carry the 2″ cello bags for this project, but maybe you have some in your stash. The tray measures 5″ long x 2 1/4″ wide, scored at 1/2″ and 1 3/4″.

I made these strawberry projects for Valentine’s Day, but I think they will be super-cute for strawberry season as well, with summery colors and tags. We may need to think ahead to get our Dove chocolate hearts now – and try to save them for June 🙂

No-Shake Shaker Heart

Remember the “no-shake” shaker tags and cards I made in November? (Click here for November post.) I used that same idea here, this time sandwiching die cut x’s and o’s between a piece of window sheet and a designer paper heart.

The Lots of Heart Bundle offers so many great pieces for layering this heart – as well as fabulous greetings and additional die cuts. See the full bundle below.

The pieces you need to create this heart are as follows…

  • Designer paper cut with scalloped heart die
  • Window sheet cut with scalloped heart die – after cutting this shape, I used scissors to cut it down in size, cutting just inside the stitching line
  • Real Red cardstock with adhesive-sheet backing, cut with the scallop heart and a solid heart at the same time (to create a frame)
  • Blushing Bride cardstock with adhesive-sheet backing, cut with narrow open heart
  • Whisper White cardstock cut with x’s and o’s die

Place the window sheet piece over the designer paper piece with the x’s and o’s in between. Then use the adhesive-backed Real Red heart frame to lock the window down – since the scallops have been cut off of the window sheet heart, the adhesive makes contact with both the window sheet and the designer paper backing. Add the Blushing Bride cardstock heart over the window sheet.

Joy Folds

I know this is quite the uncoordinated mix of cards, but that was the point of the layout I showed last night on Facebook Live – you can use it with any of your designer papers and stamp sets! These are all “Joy Folds”, with a section that folds in from the left, and a section that folds in from the right (or top and bottom, in the case of the seashells).

This post is meant as a supplement to last night’s Facebook Live. Please click here to see the video – and please join the Buckeye Inklings Stampers Group on Facebook to get notifications of all of my live videos.

The genius of these Joy Folds is that they use a piece of designer paper for the larger fold. You see the front and back of the paper, and you can design even the smallest of focal points (here, it’s about 2″ x 3″) because the background is so pretty.

I got this idea from a swap card by Terri Gaines – she used the Floating and Fluttering bundle and showcased a butterfly on the small fold, with Hydrangea Hill designer paper.

My focal point is a multi-stamp image from the Berry Blessings stamp set. The designer paper is Berry Blessings, and the greeting is from the coordinating Sweet Strawberry stamp set.

The inner piece is wider than the folded flap that you see on the card front, and this creates a large enough space for a note.

Dimensions for this card are as follows:

  • Blackberry Bliss 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and 3 1/4″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 3 1/4″
  • Garden Green 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ and 2″ x 3″
  • Designer Paper 5 1/4″ x 6″, scored at 2″ (the designer paper gets folded into a 2″ flap and a 4″ section – take care to score the correct side if you have a directional print)
  • Whisper White 3″ x 3″ and 1 7/8″ x 2 7/8″

This example is made exactly the same way, but it uses Flower & Field designer paper and the Welcoming Window bundle.

If you need a larger front panel, you can enlarge the front flap as needed. I sized my pieces here to fit the scalloped rectangle that measures 2 1/2″ x 3 5/8″ from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. The seashell card below is made the same way and the dimensions are shown below.

I used the same layout and sizes as the donkey card for this card made with the Sand & Sea suite. It is simply turned to the landscape orientation.

The products in this suite are fabulous!! There are so many bits and pieces to use, and the stamp set has equally great images and greetings.

Here’s a shot of how these flaps nest together.

In this version, the folded Seaside Spray cardstock piece is not extended to the fold on the inside (though it could be if you need a larger space for your greeting). In this case, I made the inner flap the same dimensions as what you see on the front of the card.

Dimensions for this card are as follows:

  • Seaside Spray 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and 4″ x 5 3/4″, scored at 2 7/8″
  • Flirty Flamingo 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″
  • Sahara Sand 2 5/8″ x 3 3/4″
  • Designer Paper 5 1/4″ x 6″, scored at 2″ (the designer paper gets folded into a 2″ flap and a 4″ section – take care to score the correct side if you have a directional print)
  • Whisper White 2 5/8″ x 3 3/4″ and Stitched Scallop Rectangle 2 1/2″ x 3 5/8″

I hope you’ll give this a try – I found that all of my papers had great potential for this layout! Thank you for checking out my projects, and thanks for any support you can give me in likes, follows, and shares on my social media.

One of the donkeys from our Sale-a-bration set, Darling Donkeys, just looks like he is kicking up his heels in celebration. I paired him with a stamp from You Are Amazing – I love the big, bold greetings in this set.

Specialty Backgrounds

I showed this collection of cards last night on Facebook Live. They each have a special touch in their backgrounds – either specialty acetate or vellum – to add a wow factor, without a lot of work.

This post is meant as a supplement to last night’s Facebook Live. Please click here to see the video – and please join the Buckeye Inklings Stampers Group on Facebook to get notifications of all of my live videos.

The first uses the designer paper, specialty acetate and stamp bundle from the Fine Floral Suite. The designer paper and acetate are each cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″, and I have used the silver side of the acetate. The decorative silver foil strip is from the edge of a die in the Ornate Layers collection.

This card uses a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of designer paper with just a circle of the acetate, cut with the largest of the Stitched Shapes circles. I have used the gold side of the acetate with a gold hoop.

This card uses one of the acetate patterns that matches the designer paper exactly. I simply added the acetate as an overlay to the beautiful paper – each is cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″.

Vellum is another great element for backgrounds. I made this card like the first acetate example – the two background layers each measure 3 3/4″ x 5″. The stamps and dies used here are from the Lots of Heart bundle – check out the fun stamps and dies in this bundle…

LOTS OF HEART BUNDLE (ENGLISH)

Vellum softens a bright color or a busy background. In this case, it mutes the background a bit so that the cut flowers don’t get lost. The beautiful designer paper is from the Flower & Field collection – one of our “Free with $50” choices during Sale-a-bration.

The designer paper measures 3 3/4″ x 5″, and the vellum measures 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″. The stamps and dies are from Pretty Perennials.

You Are Amazing

“You Are Amazing” is a stamp set that is designed to go with the You Are Amazing Project Kit, but the stamps are great for other cards too! I made a simple one here with one of the prints from the Snail Mail designer paper collection and the coordinating Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch.

Here’s a look at the stamp set and kit…

If you are new to stamping, the kits offer a way to get great elements without the purchase of individual items – like dies, embellishments, cardstock and papers. Some of our kits even include the stamps and ink! The stamp set that coordinates with this kit is a full set that is sold separately, and the recommended ink colors are shown (also sold separately).

This is a nice set for intermediate and advanced stampers too – it offers an easy 16 cards that you can stamp with ink that you probably already have. The stamp set can be used long after the kit cards are made. Don’t want the kit? In this case, you can still get the stamps. Look for the kit option that suits you – we have many good ones!

Shaker Cards

I made two kinds of shaker cards last night on Facebook Live – some with shaker spaces cut into Foam Adhesive Sheets, and some made with Clear Medium Envelopes.

This post is meant as a supplement to last night’s Facebook Live. Please click here to see the video – and please join the Buckeye Inklings Stampers Group on Facebook to get notifications of all of my live videos.

My first example is made by creating a tag shape with a cutout in a Foam Adhesive Sheet. The opening is made with a die from Hippo & Friends, and the stitched scalloped rectangle is from the Stitched So Sweetly dies.

Our new Ice Cream Corner Suite includes these wonderful pastel sprinkles for shakers. The designer paper and ribbon are also a part of this suite.

I used the Ice Cream Corner sprinkles and designer paper with this example too. The stamps and dies are from the Lots of Heart Bundle.

My third example of tag shakers is made with the Sand & Sea Suite and the adorable Whale of a Time sequins.

The picture doesn’t even capture all the detail here. The sand dollar is made on Pearlescent Specialty Paper that is a part of this suite, and the papers are beautiful! The greeting is from Oval Occasions.

The second shaker card type uses a Clear Medium Envelope to enclose the sprinkles – in this case the Flowers for Every Season Gems. The beautiful papers and stamps used here are from the Berry Blessings collection which you can choose for free with a $100 purchase.

The Garden Green mat measures 3 3/8″ x 4 3/8″ and the designer paper measures 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″.

Terri Meehan presented this Ice Cream Corner version in a team event last month. This is a great project to adapt to your choice of papers, themes and sprinkles/sequins.
