July Paper Pumpkin

Quick & Easy Gift Card Enclosures

Have you seen these little gift card enclosures on page 194 of the Annual Catalog?! What a fun little shape…and so easy! You get 10 precut, prescored bases in a pack for $5.95 (Item 136662). All you have to do is decorate. That’s the fun part! I went with a star theme here, using the sets “Be the Star” and “Pictogram Punches” (on the inside). The thanks greeting is from “#Hello”.

Here’s what it looks like when you open it. Notice the star punched from one of our new glimmer papers? The picture doesn’t show its brilliance, but it is bright gold, like the sequin trim. As much as I love the Champagne Glimmer Paper, I definitely have room in my life for both!

Envelope Punch Board Card Boxes

I would like to show you how to make both versions of this box that is designed to hold a collection of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ cards and A2 envelopes. The base of the box is the same in both versions, and it is 1 3/8″ deep.

The box on the left has a sturdy cardstock lid that I decorated with designer series paper and a flower from the Flower Frenzy die. The box on the right has a clear lid made from a window sheet, and you can see right through to the box contents. Here’s a closer look at the difference.

The video below details the construction of this box, including directions for both lids. These are great boxes for other gift items as well, and you can imagine the different looks you can achieve with different colors, papers, and ribbons!

The video also references a post I did last fall about envelope-type boxes. You can see that post here. Those boxes are punched and scored in a similar manner on the envelope punch board.

Swaps

Here’s a look at what I was doing this weekend…creating swaps for Stampin’ Up!’s annual convention in Salt Lake City which starts on Thursday. I am not going, but I am preparing a group of swaps that will make the trip. My teammate Amy Kunkle has graciously offered to do extra swapping with my cards, so I will be anxious to see what she brings back.

I have been in the mood for Christmas projects lately, and I thought a sample that uses everyday product would be fun. This card uses “Work of Art” and “Epic Alphabet”. I am pretty sure that these sets weren’t designed for Christmas, but they are versatile enough for any occasion. The colors here are Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Mossy Meadow, Very Vanilla, and Crumb Cake.

I did pull out my sewing machine for this one, and it was worth it! It only took a second or two to tack down that pretty new Venetian Crochet Trim with a punched heart on each card. I also used one of my Blendabilities on this card – can you see where? That’s not really fair, it’s hard to see in the picture – I touched up the staple with my Dark Cherry Cobbler marker.

Here’s another look at this project in progress. Don’t you love it when a project gets to this point? All of the elements are made and it is just a matter of assembling.

The Perfect Blend for PPA211

Wow, there is a lot of Navy and Daffodil in the Pals Paper Arts Challenge gallery! The cards are all lovely, and I do love those colors together – they are so crisp and preppy! When I put them together, I love to use Old Olive as an accent as Ginger and Ann did on their cards.

I thought it would be fun to try some different accent colors today, to add some balance to the gallery. I did make sure to feature the Daffodil and Navy prominently, though, so I hope I don’t get thrown out. If you are from the Midwest, or if you are a college sports fan, you will understand! No disrespect meant to The Pals – I just couldn’t resist!

July Greetings a la Carte

It’s time to look at this month’s “Greetings a la Carte” choices. “Greetings a la Carte” is a Stamp-a-stack for anyone who wants to produce many cards. The cards are relatively simple, so they are easy to produce and easy to mail.

Three designs are held over from April, and five are new, including two Christmas designs for those of you who would like to start early! The greetings can be changed to suit your preference. This month’s class is next Thursday, July 17 at noon or 6pm.

Please contact me with your choice(s) if you would like to join us. They are available in groups of 8 only. I take orders ahead of time so that I can prepare the right quantity of each. I also need to make sure everyone is not planning to make the same card since we will be working in stations. If you are already signed up, please let me know your choice(s) from the “menu” below as soon as possible.

The price varies based on the design, and each card comes with a Whisper White or Very Vanilla mat piece for the inside. Dimensionals and envelopes are also included, but please bring your other adhesives.

You can sign up for more than one design, or multiples of designs. Depending on the quantity you choose, you may or may not be able to completely assemble these during the class time, but I will make sure you do the steps you need to complete with my supplies. You may have to finish assembly on your own.

Flower Patch Trio and Much News

I wish I could take credit for this beautiful trio of cards that I received from my upline, Mindy Gray! She made them using the “Flower Patch” stamp set and coordinating “Flower Fair” framelits. Aren’t they fabulous?!

“Flower Patch” is a big set of 19 photopolymer stamps – the images are shown below. Since they are completely clear, they are easy to place to make flowers with layers of color as Mindy did. You also get more stamps for your money with photopolymer. The stamps are $25.95 and the framelits are $24.95, but you can save 15% if you buy them both in a bundle for $43.25.

I also want to share this tag I made with Endless Birthday Wishes, which is available again, Item 137553 for $13.95. I used a shaker frame with silver foil confetti (made with fringe scissors) and tiny silver beads – the circle that makes the window is 1 3/8″, and the Whisper White circle below with the birthday cake is 1 3/4″. I also punched a 1 3/4″ circle from a Window Sheet to cover the opening. I colored the cake with my Blendabilities. The polka dot bags are in the Annual Catalog, Item 135503, 10 for $3.95.
