Christmas in July

This is one of the cards you can choose from in this month’s Greetings a la Carte. I CASEd this idea from a card I saw on Pinterest by Sandy Mathis. It uses one of last year’s Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Stamp Sets with the Christmas greeting from Petite Pairs.

I am introducing some Christmas cards to my Greetings a la Carte class for those of you who would like to get ahead! This month’s class will be on Thursday, July 17 at noon or 6pm. I will post all of the card choices for the class this Thursday.

Buckeye Inklings Mascot

Just for fun on this holiday weekend, I thought I would dedicate a post to the unofficial mascot of the site, Chip. If you have come to a class at my house, here’s what happens after you leave…

Oh my goodness, sometimes there are treats on the tables! But they are always just out of reach for a small dog!

Look at that tail wagging! Can’t reach this group either. What’s a schnoodle to do?

He sits and stares at the underside of the table until someone comes to his rescue.

So, who leaves these treats? Chip knows her well! It’s Connie, and Connie visited with her dog Willy yesterday. Willy is a baby, only one year old. This was the first meeting.

Were you expecting a Doberman? Haha! Willy is a gentle and friendly dog, and they were soon frolicking.

Even Chip has friends from stamping LOL!

Big News Class To Go

I am often asked to list my favorite stamp sets, but it takes me a while to work with a set before I know if it is a favorite. I am going to feature my tried-and-true favorites from the 2014-2016 Annual Catalog each month in a “Class To Go”. You will be able to find the “Classes to Go” on the menu bar.

My early favorite from the 2014-2015 Annual Catalog is “Big News”. It lives up to its name – it is a big set! It is so big that it is all you need for several occasions. Not only do you get the big greeting that you see on these card fronts, but each also has a sentiment on the inside. The images from this set are shown below.

The “Class To Go” includes the stamp set in your choice of wood or clear-mount and cardstock and embellishments to make two of each of the cards shown (one pink and one blue in the case of the baby card), just add your own ink and adhesive. Each card comes with a Whisper White mat for the inside of the card and an envelope. You will also receive pictures and instructions to make the cards as shown.

Fab Friday 44 with In Colors

The Fab Friday Challenge is a Color Challenge using the new In Colors. It wasn’t too tough since they look great together! I kept it simple with my brushstrokes from “Work of Art” and flowers punched with the flower from the new Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. My greeting is from “Flower Patch”. Just a note about the brushstrokes…I stamped off once for every color. They still look very rich and vibrant, but they are lighter than they could be.

Ribbon and Paper Shares

There are so many great new ribbons in the Annual Catalog, and in so many colors! The best way to get them all is to “share” full spools. I will purchase every color of certain products and repackage them into smaller portions so that you can have a great collection of colors without buying a full package of each item.

I have several shares to offer, chosen from the new ribbon styles and colors shown on pages 206-207. I also have a share of designer paper. The contents of each share are described below, and these items can also be found on the “Product Share” tab above. All of the shares will be packaged neatly, wrapped on cards in cello bags. The picture above shows an example of the 3/8″ Stitched Satin.

Please email me if you would like to order a share. Each time I have a group of 5 who would like to share, I will proceed with the order. At that point, I will send a Paypal invoice, and once the invoice is paid, I will order the share. Please understand that it will take at least a week to fill the share and receive the product, and another week or more for you to actually receive the share. I will proceed as quickly as possible.

Shipping is $3 for a single share, $5.80 for any combination of multiple shares, US only. Local customers can pick up at my house for free.

A Big Thank You!

Work of Art Note Cards

Our Note Card & Envelope packages lend themselves to simple designs that you can produce in quantity. Here is an example using “Work of Art”. I simply picked three colors that I like and used them to stamp the chevron pattern and words. I used Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, and Bermuda Bay.

My accent piece uses the Postage Punch and the heart from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. Punch the heart first, and then center it in the postage punch shape. Put it on dimensional pieces and add a rhinestone…that’s it!
