“So Very Happy” for Mom

DSC_0410w

The Paper Players have the perfect theme this Mother’s Day week.

The sentiment on my card is from “My Mother” in the Occasions catalog, and I used the big greeting from this set on the inside of the card.

DSC_0411w

The flower and the dotty background are from the set “So Very Happy” that will be available in the new Annual Catalog starting June 2.  The designer paper is the retiring (but still available) Quatrefancy DSP, and the colors are Strawberry Slush, Island Indigo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, and Gumball Green.  I used a clear button and a bow made with baker’s twine on the flap – it’s hard to see that little button!

Hooray for Project Life!

DSC_0397cropw

And Hooray for all of this yummy coordination!  There is a group of Project Life items already available, ahead of the release of Stampin’ Up!’s full line of Project Life products in the upcoming Annual Catalog.  I was so anxious to play with these pre-order goodies that I ripped into them, without any printed photos to insert into the scrapbook pages.

The accessories and cards coordinate perfectly with Stampin’ Up! colors and designs.  Coordination is great, but it gets better…every card in the Card Collection is different.  No duplicates!  You are essentially getting 100 different pieces of thick designer paper.

DSC_0399w

I made this 3″x3″ card by cutting one of the 4″x6″ cards down to 3″x6″, scoring and folding.  I finished it with a few banners and stamps.  I used Kaleidoscope designer paper to punch my banners, but you could also use some of the cards from the collection.  You could also use embellishments from the accessory pack.  Here’s a look at the inside:

By the way, I did not color the word Hooray to stamp it.  I inked the whole stamp on my pad and then covered the part I didn’t want to see with tape.

Here’s a better look at the other card.  I punched those little stars in the “o”s with the bigger punch on my Crop-o-dile.  The pennants are only attached to the card on the left side, under the Washi Tape.

The list of items available now is shown below.  Please contact me if you have any questions.  Next time I show Project Life, I will try to have some scrapbook pages done!!  🙂

Card Buffet Favorites

Wisteria Petite Petals

There has been an obvious trend in Card Buffet since the beginning of the year and the release of the Occasions Catalog.  The overall favorites in each session have been the cards that use the Petite Petals stamp set and punch.

Pool Party Petite Petals

This one is a CASE of Stephanie Pletscher’s design.  I colored rhinestones with a black Sharpie to make the flower centers.

The Petite Petals Bundle is clearly a favorite item to order, too, as it seems that the punches sell out as quickly as the supply is replenished.  Stampin’ Up! is catching up with the demand, and the wait time has gone down.  The punches will be available again by May 5 (Monday).  You can definitely order the bundle, and if there is any wait time for the punch, it should be short.  The stamps and punch are also being carried over into the new Annual Catalog, although they will not be available in a Bundle.

Since this is a small set with little elements, it is very affordable.  The Wood Mount Bundle (Item 134821) is $24.50.  The Clear Mount Bundle (Item 134822) is $21.25.  These bundle prices represent a 15% savings over buying the items individually, but the bundle prices will not be available after June 1.  The images are shown below.

Have a great weekend!

OH – IO Flip Card

DSC_0378w DSC_0379w

I got a really fun surprise yesterday from my good friends, Theresa and Debbie, and of course, I had to use it right away!  It is the Ohio State stamp set you see on this flip card.  I don’t think I have ever posted a card made with a non-Stampin’ Up! set, but this was too good to pass up.  My daughter Jen will be going to OSU in the fall, so this is a timely and perfect gift.  It will be much-used and much-loved for years to come!

If you are not from the midwest, let me just fill you in about Buckeye fans… OH – IO is a cheer, and our enthusiasm is pretty extreme.  Does this have anything to do with the fact that our mascot is a poisonous nut?  I’m not sure, but you should also know that Ohio’s poisonous nut is a good luck charm, and way more appealing than Michigan’s large weasel  🙂

If you would like to see more details on the Circle Framelit Thinlit, click here.  The fun card shape and Word Bubble Framelits are so fitting with this “greeting”.

Have a great day!

On Film Favorites

DSC_0374w

The three shapes from On Film Framelits that I use most are showcased here – the polaroid and negative frames, and the camera.  I put them together with a random collection of stamps and elements.  There are two pennants from the Pennant Framelits, a gold Banner Blast punch, and stamps from Happy Day, Off the Grid, and a retired favorite – Best Dad Ever.

I didn’t have a plan when I started this card.  I simply made some elements that would coordinate, and then I played with them until I liked the arrangement.  This type of card is a good way to use what you have!

Golf Ball Flip Card

DSC_0372w

Flip cards are easy because the shape of the card alone makes it interesting.  You can highlight a stamped image or a punch (or in this case, Whisper White cardstock with dimples), decorate as much or as little as you like, and be done!  You can see more samples here, and you can see how to include an extra flap on these cards here.

I CASEd this card from Toni Tessler, and it will be in Card Buffet this week.  If you would like to join us, I still have openings in the evening classes, Tuesday and Wednesday at 6:30 pm, on Wednesday at 10 am, and on Thursday at noon.  Contact me to register.

The Thinlit that creates this card base is not in the current Annual Catalog, but it is available.  There are actually two different card bases available – a Circle Card and a Label Card.  The info is shown below.

Last Day for FREE Shipping

Fringe Scissors

Here’s a fun card for a Friday!  It is also very easy to create.  I simply fringed  1 1/4″ strips of cardstock with my fringe scissors (Item 133325, $9.95).   The fringe colors are Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, Strawberry Slush, and Melon Mambo.  They overlap each other about 1/2″, leaving 3/4″ of each showing, and the Coastal Cabana strip is 3/4″ wide.  The greeting is from one of my favorite greeting sets – Delightful Dozen (images shown below), which is on the Retiring List 🙁

Today is the last day of the FREE Shipping!  Don’t miss out!  Orders placed online up until 1:50 am (11:50 pm MT) are eligible.  Or, please contact me by 5 pm if you would like me to include your items in the group order I am collecting.

Have a great weekend!

Sailboat Throwbacks

DSC_0101w

I have been digging through retired stamps to find more options for masculine cards for next week’s Card Buffet, and I found this old favorite, “Sail Away.”  Very appropriate for a Thursday – a stamp throwback. You could just as easily make this card with stamps from “Open Sea” or “Hello, Sailor”.  The banners from Sale-a-bration make a great nautical touch.

With my daughter’s graduation coming up and the demand for memory projects, I have also been digging through pictures.  I promised throwback pictures from our sailing days when I posted a “Hello, Sailor” card a few weeks ago (see that one here), and I did find some.  These are from the early 90s, when we spent Memorial Day weekends at Put-in-Bay.  We are barely recognizable!

Sweet 16

DSC_0083w

My little one (who is not so little, but will always be “my little one”!) turned 16 yesterday, and I pulled out some of the “go-to” products I use for girls, including the coordinating cupcake products and bright cardstock.  Then I realized some of these favorites are on the Retired Lists for Stamps and Accessories (click here to go to the lists)!  So sad!

To me, the most surprising item on the Retired List is the Ruffle Stretch Trim that I used here in Strawberry Slush.  I thought we would surely have another year with it since those In Colors will be back.  Perhaps we will get a similar ribbon?  The Glimmer Paper is also marked as Retired, but I do believe it will come back in some form (just my thought, no promises).

I used the Typeset Alphabet Dies for the numbers (and they are stamped with a pattern from Eye-Catching Ikat), and those dies will be retired, as will the Create a Cupcake and Fabulous Phrases stamp sets.  Fabulous Phrases will be a big loss for me – I love those little words!  I used two on the inside of the card, too.

DSC_0086w

Sad to see some of these products go, but that does make room for new goodies in the upcoming Annual Catalog.  In the meantime, you can shop for retiring items (or any items) with FREE shipping thru April 25.  Click the Shop Now button at the top right of my page, or contact me if you would like me to place your order.

Have a great day!
