Heartfelt Corner Flip Card

This is a really easy fun fold with a pop-up element on the inside. As you open it, the folded corner flips a heart into view.

It’s a great design for coordinating designer papers in any theme. The video gives complete instructions. If you are receiving this post in an email, click here for the video.

From My Heart Fun Folds

Last night on Facebook Live, I made Valentines with the From My Heart Suite. They are easy fun folds, but thanks to the beautiful paper, they look really special!

These pocket cards show off both sides of the designer paper. The inner card pulls out as shown below.

The card base measures 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. The designer paper measures 4″ x 10 1/2″, scored at 5 1/4″ and 9″. Pay close attention to the direction of the pattern on the paper when you plan your score lines.

The designer paper is folded in a “z”, and the back is attached to the card base. The pocket is created by tying twine around the flap section, NOT by adhering the sides of the pocket together. Leaving the sides open allows the pocket to accommodate a larger note card.

The Whisper White note card measures 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ and the Real Red cardstock measures 3 3/4″ x 5″.

This version is made the same way, but it uses the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Paper along with stamps from the January 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit. This kit coordinates with the heart punches in the Mini Catalog.

I heat embossed one of the stamped images in gold on gold foil.

I used punched hearts as an edge treatment on this card. The Real Red card base measures 5 1/2″ x 7 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. The front is 1″ shorter than the back, so you see the inner Whisper White panel along the bottom edge where the hearts don’t cover it. The striped designer paper measures 3″ x 5 1/4″.

These are gate folds, and the hearts interlock over the seam. The Real Red card base measures 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 1″ and 5 1/4″. The designer paper pieces measure 3″ x 5 1/4″ and 3/4″ x 5 1/4″.

Layered with Kindness

“Layered with Kindness” is a great set for punch fans. The Label Me Fancy and Label Me Lovely Punches coordinate with the ornate greetings. Together, they create a fancy (and lovely) greeting!

The designer paper I have used here is from our upcoming Coordination Product release. It measures 4″ x 5 1/4″, so you can get two from the length of the designer paper with 1 1/2″ x 4″ leftover. I split that into two 3/4″ x 4″ pieces for the inside of the card.

The Coordination Product Release includes items that coordinate with products in the Mini and Sale-a-bration Catalogs. Items will be available starting February 4, or you can include them now in your Starter Kit order if you would like to join Stampin’ Up!

Download the flyer for the item listings.

The video below gives a more detailed look at these products. If you are receiving this post in an email, please click here for the video.

From My Heart Projects

Last night on Facebook Live, I showed a collection of projects made with the From My Heart Suite. Thanks to the beautiful specialty designer paper and coordinating Heart Punch Pack in this suite, these projects are so easy!!

This simple no-adhesive tube was the first project. It starts as a 4 1/2″ x 5″ rectangle of designer paper (last year’s dsp shown with score markings). It is scored on the 4 1/2″ side at 1″ and 3 1/2″. It is scored on the 5″ side at 1″, 2″, 3″, and 4″. Four diagonal scores are added as shown in the above picture.

My version holds four Hershey kisses, and we were discussing whether a lip balm would fit. As I suspected, the version I made last night is a bit too short for a lip balm, but it could easily be modified. To lengthen it 1/2″, simply start with a 5″ square of designer paper. Score at 1″ and 4″ on one side and at 1″, 2″, 3″, and 4″ (same as my original version) on the other side.

The end treatment on this box is really the focus of the technique here – and you can use this end treatment on different shapes and sizes. I showed how to apply the same idea to a full size Kit Kat bar.

I determined the dimensions from the size of the Kit Kat bar – it would fill a 4 1/4″ x 2 3/4″ x 5/8″ space.

The key to the end treatment on these tubes is to make the height match the distance to the score line at each end. With that in mind, I planned the first Real Red cardstock dimension to be 4 1/4″ + 5/8″ + 5/8″ = 5 1/2″. The 5 1/2″ dimension is therefore scored at 5/8″ and 4 7/8″.

In the interest of efficiency, I made the other dimension 8 1/2″, so that two of these could be cut from one sheet of cardstock. I scored the 8 1/2″ dimension at 2 3/4″, 3 3/8″, 6 1/8″ and 6 3/4″. While this doesn’t create a full overlap over the top, it works just fine.

I added a 4″ x 8″ designer paper wrap (scored at 2 1/8″, 2 3/4″, 5 1/2, and 6 1/8″) and some quick embellishments to finish.

This is a very adaptable idea for other shapes and sizes. You can simply modify the lengths, as for the lip balm, or change the shape completely.

Our Shipping Boxes from the Annual Catalog are the base of my final project. The flaps are pushed in at the open end of the box, and they are covered with two pieces of designer paper – 2 1/2″ x 12″ and 2 1/2″ x 4″.

I used ribbon for both of my samples, but you could also make cardstock handles. On the left, I stapled 6″ lengths of Braided Burlap trim onto the ends of the box before securing the flaps to the inside of the box. Each staple is covered on the inside of the box by the flap, and on the outside of the box by the designer paper.

On the right, I secured the flaps and decorated the box first. Then I punched holes for the ribbon handles, and I knotted each end of ribbon inside the box.

Again, the embellishments for these projects are a piece of cake thanks to the products in this suite. The Heart Punch Pack is a sure “keeper” for me. I may need to stock up on some extra doilies and paper, too. They make these projects come together so easily!

Ride With Me Valentine

I used my Buffalo Check background stamp with Flirty Flamingo on Whisper White to create a great paint job for my truck. The heart from the Heartfelt stamp set is quite a load for this little pickup, but it’s so cute!

The card is a fun fold – the Gray Granite base measures 4 1/4″ x 10″, scored at 5 1/2″, and the Real Red striped designer paper measures 4″ x 4 1/4″.

The diagonal stripe piece is a 1″ x 4″ strip, attached to the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Whisper White insert piece.

Stamparatus Fun

Last night’s Facebook Live was all about new products and Stamparatus tricks. I started with this card that uses the So Sentimental bundle. The trick here was to stamp the greeting first in Seaside Spray, and then mask “Thank You” and stamp again in black.

I made a similar version with bright colors. Both of these cards also use the Thoughtful Blooms stamp set and Small Bloom Punch (Free with $50 and Free with $100 SAB items), Metallic Baker’s Twine (Free with $50) and Golden Honey Specialty Designer Paper (Free with $50).

Moving on, I used the Painted Poppies flowers to cover the width of our Scalloped Note Cards. I set the stamp to make the first impression just above the scallops on the note card, and I slid the note card just a smidge over 2 3/4″ to make an adjacent impression. The trick here was in moving the note card instead of relying on the “hinge step” since the hinge spacing does not match the desired spacing for this stamp.

On each note card, I added a 1/2″ strip of Peaceful Poppies designer paper. The greeting is from “Thoughtful Blooms”, and it is punched in two steps with the Label Me Fancy Punch.

I also used scalloped note cards with strips of paper from the Best Dressed collection with a greeting from the December Paper Pumpkin to make these simple note cards. After the first impression at the top of these cards, I moved the note cards 1/2″ for each additional impression.

I also used the Stamparatus for this fun background, made by moving the Old Olive cardstock. The cacti are 2″ apart horizontally or vertically. However, I like to stamp a diagonal row, moving the cardstock 1″ horizontally and 1″ vertically for each impression.

I had to include the full meerkat gang on the inside panel – love them!!

You may remember this background, made in a similar way, moving the cardstock 1/2″ horizontally and 3/4″ vertically between impressions. If you like these techniques, you may want to check out this post for more ideas.

I hope this inspires you to try new things with your Stamparatus! If you don’t have a Stamparatus, Sale-a-bration is a great time to get one – at a purchase price of $49, a Stamparatus alone almost qualifies for a “Free with $50” item.

January Classes To Go

I am really excited to announce two Classes To Go for January! I chose my favorite two suites from the upcoming Mini Catalog and designed fun cards with them. Both of the classes feature vibrant colors and cheery designs!

In each class, I have used three layouts to make six different cards. Designing six different cards allowed wider use of the designer paper in each suite – and I have used a lot of designer paper on these cards!

Please read more detailed information below for either of the classes. Each requires the purchase of one bundle, or the corresponding $ amount with the appropriate Host Code. These classes will be available until January 31.

You can place orders for these products starting January 3 in the online store. I ask you to place and receive your own bundle for two reasons – you can add or substitute product AND you can choose any Sale-a-bration free item. Since this also helps me to greatly reduce my shipping costs, I cover the cost of shipping the class materials to you.

I will prepare the classes for mailing in two batches. Classes for orders placed in the first week (by January 10) will ship on or before January 13. All others (deadline January 31) will be shipped on or before February 3.

I am requiring only one of the beautiful bundles – Peaceful Moments – from the Peaceful Poppies Suite to get this class! You will notice that the cards use some of the die cuts from the Painted Poppies bundle, but those pieces will be pre-cut and included with your class materials.

To get the class, spend a minimum of $52 on the Peaceful Moments bundle (Item 153824, p 27) with Host Code Y2URHAV3. If your order exceeds $150, do not use the Host Code – please take your own Stampin’ Rewards and simply email me that you would like the class.

You will receive from me:

Materials to make six cards (pre-cut and scored), cardstock pieces needed to stamp and cut with the bundle, six envelopes, and illustrated instructions with dimensions

You will need:

Assorted Ink Pads (I used StazOn Black, Poppy Parade, and Rich Razzleberry), Wink of Stella (optional), die cut machine, adhesives

Bonus Option:

If you also purchase the Painted Poppies Bundle (or an additional $52 of merchandise), I will send a package of Painted Poppies Sequins and Painted Poppies Elements with your class materials.

I couldn’t be more excited about this class! Don’t be turned away if you think that this bundle is only for kids’ cards – I designed these cards for use with or without the animals. With six different examples, you can easily modify the focal point on the cards to include more or less of the animals.

To get the class, spend a minimum of $38.50 on the Bonanza Buddies bundle (Item 153815, p 34) with Host Code NNBJTXAK.

Assorted Ink Pads (I used almost all of the colors in this beautiful paper – Basic Black, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Mango Melody, Smoky Slate, Terracotta Tile – however, you could get away with your choice of colors), die cut machine, adhesives

Please don’t hesitate to contact me at stampyourworld@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Happy Birthday to You

“Happy Birthday to You” is the name of a Sale-a-bration stamp set that will be available for free with a $50 purchase, starting January 3. The main feature of this set is this beautiful tiered cake, decorated with flowers. I colored it with my Stampin’ Blends.

The card base is a gate fold. The Mint Macaron measures 4 1/4′ x 11″, scored at 3 1/4″ and 8 3/4″. The embossed Purple Posy piece measures 2 1/4″ x 4″, and it extends up over the edge of the Mint Macaron. I think this creates a cleaner look where the gate fold comes together – instead of seeing two Mint Macaron edges, you only see one that overlaps this Purple Posy piece.

I also made a Petal Pink version of this card, with a little more bling from the upcoming Mini Catalog. The designer paper on both of these cards measures 3″ x 4″, and it is from the upcoming Best Dressed collection.

Notice the Champagne Rhinestones and Petal Pink ribbon that will also be available starting January 3.

Please email me at stampyourworld@gmail.com if you still need copies of these catalogs. Have a great day!

Bonanza Buddies

Today’s sneak peek is from the Birthday Bonanza Suite. It can be found in the upcoming Mini Catalog, and it offers a mix of traditional birthday images and sweet little characters.

The colors and greetings are as playful as the animals, but this bundle is not just for kids – I am preparing an online class that offers options for all ages. Details coming soon!
