Summer Colors

“Colorful Seasons” is going to be true to its name in every season.  Here’s a beachy summer card using Peekaboo Peach, Lemon Lime Twist, and Bermuda Bay.  Our new Lemon Lime Twist is such a fun addition to our color collections!  It is one of the 2017-2019 In Colors.

The new products from our fabulous 2017-2018 Annual Catalog are now available.  Click here to shop, or use the carousel below to go directly to a specific product.  Order $35 or more in June, and I will send you this gift.  You’ll also receive a Buckeye Point in my Loyalty Rewards program for every $50 spent before shipping and tax.

Have a great day!

Pick a Pattern

This pattern from the Pick a Pattern designer paper collection is so fresh and summery.  I love how it makes this card front look like a post card from a camping vacation!

I used a 1 1/4″ strip of Emerald Envy to create a base for the greeting, but I didn’t want to cover up any more of that fun paper!  The greeting is from the Lovely Inside & Out Bundle, and I fussy-cut a bear from the designer paper to use with it.

Check back this afternoon to see who won the Blog Candy offered last week – if you haven’t entered, you have until noon EST today.  Simply leave a comment on last last Tuesday’s post for your chance to win.

 Have a great Monday!

Colorful Seasons

The new Colorful Seasons Bundle is quickly becoming a favorite!  I am currently hooked on the Adirondack chair, but I see so many possibilities for all seasons.

The branch on my card is made with the two-step stamps in the set.  I stamped the branch in black and added the flowers in two colors.  I first stamped the flowers in Craft White and let them dry.  Then I stamped over the white ink with Flirty Flamingo.  The white gives a nice base for color on the Crumb Cake oval.

 Colorful Seasons Bundle

Tomorrow is my Fourth Annual Rubber Stamp & Papercraft Sale.  If you are local, please stop by, 9a – 1pm.  The sale is at my house, contact me if you need directions.  It has grown every year, and this year we have more than 20 sellers with a huge variety of stamps, paper, and accessories.  There’s something for everyone.

Lovely Words

Here is a Sneak Peek at the Lovely Inside & Out Bundle, and the good news is this…we are only looking ahead one day now!!  The new Annual Catalog goes live tomorrow – Stampin’ Up! says ordering will be available by noon MT, so the wait for these new goodies is almost over.

This floral paper is my favorite from the Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper collection.  I love it when the paper is so pretty that you really don’t need anything else on a card.  I simply added a cool sentiment from the Lovely Words Thinlits and coordinating stamp set for a very easy card!

Sleep well tonight with dreams of new bundles, papers and trims!

Blog Candy for a Big Week

This week is big for Stampin’ Up!  On Thursday, the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog will go live.  That means there are only two days left to shop the retiring list, and there are still great deals available.

To celebrate the new catalog, I am giving away a set of our fabulous Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Simply leave a comment on this post for your chance to win.

Today I am showing off two cards made with the Colorful Seasons Bundle that will be available starting June 1.  They are made with the same elements, but the top card (#1) is made with tidy layers, and the other (#2) is a bit more scattered.  If you have a preference, please mention that in your comment.

#1  Neat and Tidy

#2  Scattered Layers

Comments must be entered on this post by next Monday, June 5 at noon EST.  I will use a random number generator to pick the winner.  Please enter only once.  I would love to receive comments from any country, but I am sorry, I can only ship the prize within the US.  If you receive my post as an email, please click here to enter at my website.

A few reminders…

Tomorrow, Wednesday May 31, is the last day to order the Happy Birthday Class To Go.  Rack.  Click here for details.

Tomorrow is also the last day to be counted in for my Ribbon and Designer Paper Shares.   Click here for details.

If you are interested in any of the currently bundled items that are carrying over into the new Annual Catalog, please be aware that the bundle prices will not be available after June 1.  This makes way for a whole new slate of bundles, and there are so many great new bundles coming!

Have a great day!

May 2017 Paper Pumpkin

I borrowed the stamps and theme from my May 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit to make these cards.  The kit is called Sprinkled with Love, and the theme is donuts 🙂

Here’s a look at what the kit is desinged to make…

And good news for those of you who have never tried Paper Pumpkin – if you subscribe by June 10, your first three months are 25% off.  It ‘s the perfect time to start receiving these pre-designed, cut, and coordinated projects in the mail.  You’ll pay only $14.96 + tax per month, shipping is included.

Paper Pumpkin delivers a fully-designed kit with stamps, ink, and embellishments each month.  The regular price is $19.95 per month, and your subscription will be billed at that price starting in month four.  However, there is no subscription commitment – you can cancel at any time.  Click here to start your subscription.  Please use the Promo Code STARTHERE to get the 25% discount on your first three months.  Drop me an email at to let me know you have joined with this promotion, and I will send you one of my Featured Cards – the Jar of Love Pocket Card.

If you haven’t joined Paper Pumpkin because you think you might not always like what the kit makes, fear not!  There is a wonderful facebook group for Paper Pumpkin subscribers showing alternate ideas for the kits, and Pinterest is loaded with ideas, too.

If you are new to stamping, Paper Pumpkin gives you everything you need for complete projects.  If you are an experienced crafter, you will appreciate having a pre-planned project with exclusive stamps and materials.  You can’t go wrong!  But then again, if you don’t like it, you can cancel at any time.

Back to my donut cards…

I used stamps from the kit along with the sprinkle stamp from “Cool Treats” for my smaller donuts, and I also used Sprinkle Embellishments from the Cool Treats Suite.

The donut boxes are not really boxes at all, they are simply 3 1/8″ x 4 3/4″ pieces of designer paper, also from the Cool Treats Suite.  I scored the 4 3/4″ sides at 2 1/4″ and 2 1/2″, and I cut windows in the lids with a shape from the Tags & Labels Framelits.  The tags are also cut with a framelit from that collection.  I added 2″ x 3″ pieces of Window Sheet to the underside of the lids with glue dots.

A real box would get crushed in the mail.  My faux box is loosely tied with baker’s twine, and it can be flattened when putting the card into an envelope.

The donuts are mounted on dimensionals under the lid.  And the donuts themselves?…

The donuts are 1″ circles.  The donut and frosting layers are made the same way – punch a smaller hole first in the appropriate color, and then punch around the small circle with the 1″ circle punch.

The smaller holes in the donut layers (Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip) were made with a 1/4″ handheld punch.  The smaller holes in the frosting layers (Early Espresso and Flirty Flamingo) were made with a 3/8″ circle punch.  I hand-cut the wavy edge of the frosting layers, and I added Fine-Tip Glue over the Early Espresso frosting to make it shiny.  Yummy – double chocolate!!

Of course the jelly donuts are simply 1″ circles (Crumb Cake).  The frosting layers are also 1″ circles, hand-cut with a wavy edge.  These are really fun cards to make, and my daughter says she always likes the food-themed cards the best!

Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Gorgeous Class To Go

This month’s Class To Go includes the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Bundle from our upcoming 2017-2018 Annual Catalog.  This is a bundle everyone is going to want.  It includes a beautiful script Happy Birthday thinlit.

The lines are a bit thicker than those of some of our other intricate dies, and the cardstock comes out of the die very easily.  This die is going to be a favorite!

The stamp set has a fabulous collection of greetings, flowers & leaves, and balloons.  There are so many possibilities with this set.

For the cost of the bundle and shipping, you will have the supplies you need to make six great cards, two each of the three designs shown.

In order to comply with Stampin’ Up! rules, I must take orders before obtaining product for the class.  I will take orders through Wednesday, May 31, or until I reach capacity.  At that point, I will order product and create kits.  The kits will ship out to you no later than Friday, June 9.

Here’s what’s included:

Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set

Happy Birthday Thinlits Die

Materials to make six cards, pre-cut, scored, and embossed as necessary

Six Envelopes

Illustrated instructions with dimensions

You will need:

Assorted Ink Pads (I used Tranquil Tide, Powder Pink, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist and Crumb Cake)

Big Shot

The class cost is based on the retail price of the bundle with tax and shipping for me to receive the materials.  I have also added a $7.20 priority mail cost for shipping to you once I have added the class materials.  There is no additional cost for the card materials and instructions.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous Class To Go     $50.00

***Happy Birthday Gorgeous Class To Go with In Color Classic Stampin’ Pads     $77.50

***Since I am primarily using the 2017-2019 In Colors in these cards, I am also offering a special deal on these brand new colors.  If you would like to include the 2017-2019 stamp pads with this class, I will cover the additional tax and shipping – simply add $27.50 to the basic class price to include these five Classic Stampin’ Pads.

To get this bundle and class, please email me at to receive a Paypal invoice for the Class To Go Kit.  Please specify whether you would like the basic class ($50.00) or the class and ink pads ($77.50).

Annual Catalog Sneak Peek

Welcome to the Grand Vacation Achievers hop for May.  This month we are taking a peek at products that will be available June 1 when the sales period for the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog begins.

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog (Chris Slogar) or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the projects.

I chose to spotlight the “Happy Birthday Gorgeous” bundle.  The thinlit in this bundle is destined to be a favorite.

Don’t you love the font?  I cut the words from Emerald Envy and Basic Black and layered them on vellum.  The vellum tones down the bright designer paper so that the greeting really pops.  The designer paper is from the Pick a Pattern collection.

I have not done the stamp set justice here, using only a few of the 32 stamps (!!) in the set.  From sweet greetings, to flowers & leaves, to balloons…this stamp set is so versatile.  It is definitely a “must-have”.

Thank you for taking part in our blog hop.  Remember that currently you are at my blog – Chris Slogar – so check the blog hop line up list to see who is next, and enjoy!
